[00:00:00] Hey y'all, this podcast contains cursing, references to alcohol, marijuana, and other drugs, and thirsty comments about adult characters. Thanks for listening!

[00:00:22] Hey y'all, this is My Hero Analysis, a podcast about My Hero Academia, aka Boku no Hero Academia. We are three grown adults who mind Japanese children's cartoons for serotonin because God knows our brains aren't making it naturally, especially these days.

[00:00:38] Hold on one second, there is a plane flying very close overhead.

[00:00:44] It's 9-11!

[00:00:45] No!

[00:00:47] It's the Twin Towers!

[00:00:49] Oh god!

[00:00:50] Aim for the Trump Tower!

[00:00:53] Please! And thank you!

[00:00:55] That would be hilarious.

[00:00:58] Okay, I think it's gone. Anyway, hey y'all, I'm Fern, I live in Chicago, this happens all the time, and my brain is in full vacation mode.

[00:01:07] I just, this is the day before Thanksgiving, I get a four-day weekend because I'm a privileged white-collar worker, and I'm so looking forward to it.

[00:01:17] Yeah, good job. I am not. I'm Nicole. I do get Thanksgiving off, even though I feel like we shouldn't call it Thanksgiving anymore, because of reasons, but we're not going to get into those because it's not a Land Back podcast, even though it should be.

[00:01:33] But, I'm working on Friday, which is Black Friday, and I hate everything.

[00:01:39] Oh god.

[00:01:40] I'm going to punch so many people psychically.

[00:01:44] Yes. Do you get holiday pay?

[00:01:47] God, no!

[00:01:48] Ugh.

[00:01:49] Ugh. Gross.

[00:01:51] Everything is awful.

[00:01:52] I will say, that was like the one thing about working on holidays back when I was in retail.

[00:01:58] The holiday pay was pretty great.

[00:02:00] Sure, sure. And I would love that. Nothing. We don't get anything extra because Black Friday is not a holiday.

[00:02:07] Yeah, absolute horseshit. Black Friday, you should get triple pay. Let's be real.

[00:02:12] Yes.

[00:02:12] And hazard pay.

[00:02:13] Yes.

[00:02:14] That's some shit.

[00:02:16] Thank you.

[00:02:18] Hey, y'all. It's Maria, and my life has been interesting the past couple of days. I was incommunicado for like three days because my phone broke down.

[00:02:32] Yeah, I was getting worried. I was like, do I need to text her and make sure she's alive?

[00:02:36] That's the only reason I was able to contact the world was because I remembered I have a tablet that I never use.

[00:02:46] There we go.

[00:02:47] Hey, whatever works.

[00:02:49] But everything's fine. I have a new phone, which I paid $0 for, which is great.

[00:02:55] Fuck yeah.

[00:02:56] I could have upgraded, but that would have still been $200, and I was like, eh, that'll survive.

[00:03:03] Right? Like, why pay that if you don't have to?

[00:03:05] Exactly.

[00:03:06] Also, I haven't had a new phone in years, and it's perfectly fine. I just inherit my sister-in-laws when she wants a new one. It's great.

[00:03:16] Yeah. New phones in Trump's America? No.

[00:03:19] Yeah, no. I'm an Android girly, so those things last forever unless, you know, for some reason it decides not to charge ever again.

[00:03:29] Oh, God. I hate that.

[00:03:31] It just said, I'm done. Bye.

[00:03:34] No, it's freaking planned obsolescence. I freaking hate it.

[00:03:37] No, like, it's really funny. It was going fine, and hell, like, I started having problems with it, like, charging.

[00:03:45] Mm-hmm.

[00:03:45] And I tried wireless charging, and even wireless charging wasn't working. And, like, I took it to the store, and they tried wireless charging, and they're like, what the fuck is going on?

[00:03:59] Like, I don't know the company did it.

[00:04:02] I don't know. It's fine. I have a free phone. It's nice. It works. Everything is nice and shiny. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's black.

[00:04:11] I had a pretty purple lavender one, and it was so cute, but they sent me a black one instead, and I am devastated.

[00:04:21] Aw.

[00:04:22] As you should be.

[00:04:27] But it's fine. I guess black also fits my aesthetic, but it's not as pretty.

[00:04:31] Yeah. You need, like, a cover that's pretty.

[00:04:34] Yeah. I do need a new cover, though. My cover has seen better days.

[00:04:39] Mm-hmm.

[00:04:39] But, yeah. It's been an interesting day, but it's fine. I've been on vacation. I didn't go to work today. I have a five-day weekend.

[00:04:47] Yes.

[00:04:47] I know to be drinking most of it, trying to survive my family for 24 hours. It's great.

[00:04:53] Oh, God. Yep. Yep. Tequila.

[00:04:55] Tequila, wine. I am stocked up on wine.

[00:04:59] Ooh, nice.

[00:05:01] Trader Joe's.

[00:05:02] Mm-hmm.

[00:05:03] It's not sponsored, but Trader Joe's, if you want to sponsor us.

[00:05:06] I mean.

[00:05:08] Hi.

[00:05:10] We'll take whatever. We don't care.

[00:05:12] Just give us money. We're sad.

[00:05:16] Why did my alarm go off? Whatever. Who cares? Vacation mode.

[00:05:20] Vacation mode. No alarms. Fuck you.

[00:05:23] Yep. Nothing.

[00:05:24] Mm-hmm. All right. Well, on to the episode.

[00:05:30] So, for any newer listeners who may not have listened to previous wraps up, previous wrap ups. Good Lord, we're off to a great start.

[00:05:39] Wraps ups.

[00:05:40] Uh-huh. This is just our chance to broadly go over the season as a whole, share our final thoughts, theories, feelings, etc.

[00:05:48] Uh, the wrap ups can be a little spoilery. We don't really filter for spoilers. So, feel free to skip this one if you want. You really aren't missing anything essential. It's just us being silly.

[00:05:58] Yeah, no. It's our purely academic commentary, obviously.

[00:06:03] Oh, yes. Yes, of course. I forgot about that. How silly of me.

[00:06:05] So, I am raw-dogging these notes.

[00:06:08] Yeah.

[00:06:09] Because I did not have time to do anything.

[00:06:13] Oh, man. And it's also like our last...

[00:06:15] I was also babysitting this week.

[00:06:17] Mm-hmm.

[00:06:18] Mm-hmm.

[00:06:18] So, it's just, you know, I have no idea where these notes are going to take us.

[00:06:22] The moon.

[00:06:23] I'm in a goofy mood.

[00:06:25] So...

[00:06:26] Yeah, it's our last recording session of the year. So, we're just like trying to get through it and trying to push through.

[00:06:31] Yeah.

[00:06:32] We got this.

[00:06:33] Oh, man. But season four covers the Shia Hisaikai arc, the remedial course arc, the UA school festival arc, and then the start of the pro hero arc that we'll really get into in season five.

[00:06:47] And that's when the drama happens.

[00:06:49] Oh, boy.

[00:06:51] Hope everyone enjoyed the final fun season of this show.

[00:06:55] Yeah. There's no more fun. Well, there's a little more fun.

[00:06:59] Yeah, but it's about to get heavy.

[00:07:01] Yeah, it's like you get twinkles of fun amidst all the heavy terribleness.

[00:07:08] Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

[00:07:09] Yep. It's gonna be great. I'm gonna be laughing the entire time.

[00:07:13] Oh, yeah.

[00:07:14] So many emotions.

[00:07:17] It's so funny to me because I have been through the ringer.

[00:07:22] Mm-hmm.

[00:07:22] I've had my soul, like, pulled out, shat on.

[00:07:27] Kinky.

[00:07:28] Thrown across the window, thrown out the window. Like, I've been in smithereens.

[00:07:35] Mm-hmm.

[00:07:36] So this is just like...

[00:07:38] One more time through the meat grinder. Whatever.

[00:07:41] Yeah, pretty much.

[00:07:43] So we're gonna start out with some season three subplots that continued into season four.

[00:07:49] The first one is Izuku finally starts to experiment more with one for all and use it in ways that suit him rather than just trying to be a carbon copy of All Might.

[00:08:00] Mm-hmm.

[00:08:01] Mm-hmm.

[00:08:02] And this reminded me of a TikTok I had seen when I did the notes.

[00:08:04] I don't remember actually doing these notes, y'all.

[00:08:08] But I'm glad I wrote this down.

[00:08:09] But it was a TikTok basically about Izu Ocha and Toga Chaco and, like, how their, like, crushes on each other.

[00:08:19] They're mainly how Ocha and Toga's earlier crushes on each other were basically mimicry.

[00:08:25] And that became, like, really toxic for them.

[00:08:29] But when they, like, kind of pulled back and kind of got a hold of themselves because they're teenagers with emotions, they kind of just emulated their heroes, which is what Izuku is now doing with All Might.

[00:08:42] And it's actually useful instead of toxic.

[00:08:45] Yay.

[00:08:46] Yes.

[00:08:46] Yes.

[00:08:47] It's great to learn from people.

[00:08:49] But outright trying to become them doesn't work.

[00:08:53] Sorry, Toga.

[00:08:54] Ever.

[00:08:55] Ever.

[00:08:55] Doesn't work.

[00:08:56] You poor child.

[00:08:57] You didn't have a chance because your parents suck.

[00:08:59] And we'll get to it later.

[00:09:00] But still.

[00:09:01] Mm-hmm.

[00:09:02] And then the next subplot, it's just gonna keep coming up.

[00:09:07] Todoroki family bullshit.

[00:09:10] Never at all.

[00:09:12] Everything he stands for.

[00:09:13] Just bullshit.

[00:09:15] Mm-hmm.

[00:09:16] Mm-hmm.

[00:09:17] So Endeavor's new status as the number one hero comes with a ton of pressure that he wasn't exactly ready to face.

[00:09:27] And this makes him finally look inward, address his mental health issues, and acknowledge the abuse he put his family through.

[00:09:36] Bitch.

[00:09:37] He's like, oh, people are looking at me.

[00:09:39] Maybe I should look at myself.

[00:09:40] Oh, I'm a bitch.

[00:09:42] Yeah.

[00:09:43] You are.

[00:09:43] He's more than a bitch.

[00:09:45] He is trying to think of the right word for this.

[00:09:48] He's ass incarnate and not in the fun way.

[00:09:51] He is Satan's last shit after eating too much cheese.

[00:09:57] Yeah.

[00:09:58] Yeah.

[00:10:02] Beautiful.

[00:10:02] I love it.

[00:10:03] Thank you.

[00:10:06] Also, we start to see Shoto reach out to others for emotional support.

[00:10:11] And coincidentally, not coincidentally, his fear of his father starts to wane.

[00:10:16] Because he's a good baby boy.

[00:10:19] Mm-hmm.

[00:10:20] Oh, also, this reminds me, we're starting to see art of what's going to be included in the final volume and how they're including a bunch of extras because it's the final volume.

[00:10:30] Oh, I'm so excited.

[00:10:31] One of them is Shoto, like, reaching out to the viewer because, you know, hand reaching out to hand.

[00:10:37] And he looks straight out of a fucking shuju.

[00:10:40] Like, Horikoshi, please just write a shuju.

[00:10:42] Right?

[00:10:43] He really wants to write one.

[00:10:45] And he should.

[00:10:46] He does.

[00:10:47] He should.

[00:10:47] It would be amazing.

[00:10:48] A horror shuju.

[00:10:50] Yes.

[00:10:51] Absolutely.

[00:10:52] I would eat that shit up.

[00:10:54] Oh, my God.

[00:10:55] Yes.

[00:10:56] Just inhaled.

[00:10:59] Slurper.

[00:11:00] Spaghetti.

[00:11:01] Hear us what we want.

[00:11:02] Give us the shuju soba.

[00:11:09] Oh, that would be great.

[00:11:10] So moving on to some running subplots that were started in season four.

[00:11:16] The first one is Izuku starts learning about the world outside of his safe little bubble.

[00:11:21] A lot of this comes from him making connections with people on the fringes of society, like Ary and gentle criminal.

[00:11:29] Yeah.

[00:11:30] Yeah.

[00:11:30] Being 15 and 16 and kind of like seeing the world open up, it sucks.

[00:11:36] No matter what reality you're in.

[00:11:38] Mm-hmm.

[00:11:39] A lot to process.

[00:11:41] Yep.

[00:11:41] Ain't nobody got time for that.

[00:11:43] Mm-mm.

[00:11:45] Yeah.

[00:11:45] And we will get to more of this in the themes and shit section.

[00:11:51] I told you.

[00:11:52] Purely academic in our outlines and notes.

[00:11:55] Oh, yeah.

[00:11:56] Oh, yeah.

[00:11:56] Also, we see Izuku and Katsuki spend some time apart this season.

[00:12:01] And this is really the only season where they do that.

[00:12:05] They just spend a little bit of time developing separately.

[00:12:08] Izuku learns to be less like All Might and more like himself, as we mentioned.

[00:12:13] Mm-hmm.

[00:12:13] And I feel like he also kind of subconsciously stops copying Bakugo as much, too.

[00:12:19] Like, to some extent.

[00:12:21] Mainly because he's not there and being beautiful in Izuku's face.

[00:12:26] I don't know.

[00:12:27] I'd almost say he starts to emulate him more.

[00:12:30] Really?

[00:12:30] But, like, not in an intentional way.

[00:12:33] Okay.

[00:12:33] Okay.

[00:12:34] I don't know.

[00:12:34] Maybe it's just because they're both so similar that even as they develop separately, they just become more similar.

[00:12:43] They did spend a lot of time growing up together.

[00:12:46] Oh, yeah.

[00:12:47] Yeah.

[00:12:48] There's just a lot.

[00:12:48] There's just stuff planted back then, too.

[00:12:51] It's just subconscious at this point.

[00:12:53] Yeah.

[00:12:54] Yeah.

[00:12:55] Definitely.

[00:12:55] And Katsuki also realizes that his self-image, oh, I must be the best.

[00:13:01] I can't ever depend on anyone or anything.

[00:13:03] Blah, blah, blah.

[00:13:04] Ow.

[00:13:05] Yep.

[00:13:06] Is toxic.

[00:13:07] Causing harm to himself and others.

[00:13:10] And holding him back developmentally.

[00:13:12] And you know that is the top priority for him.

[00:13:16] Yeah.

[00:13:17] Yeah.

[00:13:18] We love our boy basically discovering that he has a superiority complex.

[00:13:23] Oh.

[00:13:24] And also, he has anxiety and panic attacks.

[00:13:27] And it's not good.

[00:13:29] It's holding him back.

[00:13:30] And he's also addressing them.

[00:13:32] But we do like that he doesn't completely throw out his personality to do it.

[00:13:36] He's still a dick.

[00:13:37] And we love it.

[00:13:38] Yes.

[00:13:39] Yes.

[00:13:40] Yeah.

[00:13:40] He's got like...

[00:13:41] Your dick son.

[00:13:41] My dick son.

[00:13:43] Yes.

[00:13:43] I love him.

[00:13:44] Yep.

[00:13:45] He's got both a superiority and an inferiority complex.

[00:13:48] Yep.

[00:13:49] Yep.

[00:13:49] For sure.

[00:13:50] It's all one tangled web knot of terribleness.

[00:13:54] Because his parents didn't send him to therapy.

[00:13:57] Mm-hmm.

[00:13:57] All right.

[00:13:58] So moving on to themes and shit.

[00:14:03] Our first note is nuance has entered the chat.

[00:14:07] Damn it.

[00:14:07] Oh, shit.

[00:14:10] So what do you mean the world isn't black and white?

[00:14:12] And people are complicated.

[00:14:13] And sometimes what looks like the right thing is actually the wrong thing.

[00:14:17] And vice versa.

[00:14:18] Huh?

[00:14:18] It's exhausting.

[00:14:21] This damn three-dimensional world that we live in.

[00:14:24] Like, how dare things in a hero versus villain world not actually be hero versus villain?

[00:14:30] Like, what?

[00:14:31] Also, I typed out world we live in.

[00:14:34] And my brain immediately started playing Pokemon Johto.

[00:14:38] Those who know...

[00:14:38] Pokemon Johto had some of the best songs.

[00:14:41] Yes.

[00:14:42] Just now.

[00:14:43] Yes.

[00:14:44] And it's just the line where it's world we live in.

[00:14:47] Just over and over and over.

[00:14:49] With, like, Pokemon Johto going in the background.

[00:14:52] Pokemon Johto.

[00:14:54] Yep.

[00:14:55] Yep.

[00:14:55] It's great.

[00:14:56] I love it.

[00:14:57] Oh, man.

[00:14:59] Dude, the freaking plane is back.

[00:15:00] Are they doing another show?

[00:15:02] They are trying to crash into Trump Tower.

[00:15:06] No, they do this thing in the summer where it's like a...

[00:15:09] It's the winter.

[00:15:10] It's the winter show.

[00:15:11] And yeah, it's the winter.

[00:15:13] But, like, are they doing it again now?

[00:15:15] I don't understand.

[00:15:15] Whatever.

[00:15:16] I'm not pausing for the airplanes anymore.

[00:15:19] So if you hear, like, a weird noise in the background, that's all it is.

[00:15:22] I mean, Outlook went down on Monday.

[00:15:25] Credit processing payments went down on Tuesday.

[00:15:28] I wouldn't be surprised if something in the airlines is going down today.

[00:15:32] Just everything's falling apart.

[00:15:34] Apparently.

[00:15:34] Including me!

[00:15:35] Yay!

[00:15:37] Yep.

[00:15:38] Including all of us.

[00:15:40] My back hurts so bad.

[00:15:42] Oh, I'm sorry.

[00:15:43] Oh, my God.

[00:15:44] I have so many bruises.

[00:15:46] I did fun things.

[00:15:47] It's for a friend reasons.

[00:15:48] But I have a lot of bruises.

[00:15:50] And no, it's not...

[00:15:51] I bet you do.

[00:15:52] It's not that type of fun?

[00:15:54] No, it's not that type of fun.

[00:15:56] Oh, darn.

[00:15:58] I took a pole class.

[00:15:59] It was a lot of fun.

[00:16:00] Oh, that is fun.

[00:16:02] But I was sore for three days, not gonna lie.

[00:16:05] Oh, my God.

[00:16:06] It's so hard.

[00:16:07] It is so hard.

[00:16:09] And I have so many bruises on my legs.

[00:16:11] Mm-hmm.

[00:16:12] Mm-hmm.

[00:16:13] That shit is difficult.

[00:16:14] I have a mystery bruise on my leg, and I don't know where it came from.

[00:16:18] And it's kind of large.

[00:16:20] Yep.

[00:16:21] Why?

[00:16:21] I don't...

[00:16:22] I don't like...

[00:16:23] I don't like having a physical form most of the time.

[00:16:26] Yeah, same.

[00:16:28] Yeah.

[00:16:29] Anyway.

[00:16:29] Yeah.

[00:16:30] Back to inequity.

[00:16:34] Oh, man.

[00:16:35] Well, yeah.

[00:16:37] So our next point, the world is deeply inequitable.

[00:16:41] Yeah.

[00:16:41] So we start to see characters like Aerie and Gentle Criminal come into the world with everything

[00:16:48] against them and end up in desperate situations through very little to no fault of their own.

[00:16:54] And then their choices are limited, and then they have to do shitty things.

[00:16:58] Yep.

[00:16:59] And they do end up being lovely, helpful, loving members of the community when the community

[00:17:04] does its job and, like, reaches out to them and, like, is helpful.

[00:17:10] Mm-hmm.

[00:17:10] Mainly, it's Izuku at this point, but it should be the entire community.

[00:17:14] Yeah.

[00:17:15] Izuku has the world on his shoulders, hands down.

[00:17:19] He really does.

[00:17:19] He so does.

[00:17:21] Poor sweet boy.

[00:17:22] He's just, like, everyone's therapist at this point.

[00:17:26] Mm-hmm.

[00:17:26] Mm-hmm.

[00:17:27] I'm telling you, it's one of his many quirks.

[00:17:29] Mm-hmm.

[00:17:30] Mm-hmm.

[00:17:30] And the next point, accountability versus forgiveness.

[00:17:36] Fuck Endeavor.

[00:17:37] Fuck him.

[00:17:38] Mm-hmm.

[00:17:39] So it can be really hard to balance holding someone accountable for their actions while

[00:17:44] also giving them grace due to their circumstances, and the balance is going to be different for

[00:17:49] each person and each situation, and it's all really complicated.

[00:17:53] But then also, forgiveness, just as a whole, is disproportionately distributed.

[00:17:59] Like, some people or groups never face accountability, while others are judged far too harshly and never

[00:18:06] given any grace.

[00:18:06] Yep.

[00:18:07] Yep.

[00:18:08] Yep.

[00:18:08] Not to mention, like, holding the space open for accountability without the forgiveness.

[00:18:15] And for some reason, I went into a whole spiel about Puritan nonsense in America.

[00:18:19] I don't know why I'm not reading that whole paragraph that I wrote.

[00:18:24] Oh, man.

[00:18:25] But I did.

[00:18:26] The whole paragraph basically boils down to, it's hard.

[00:18:30] Yes.

[00:18:31] Yes.

[00:18:31] Why did I write, why did you let me write all that?

[00:18:34] I don't know.

[00:18:36] I haven't looked at these notes since I wrote them.

[00:18:38] How dare you?

[00:18:40] I haven't looked at them ever.

[00:18:43] Oh, man.

[00:18:44] I can't tell right now.

[00:18:47] But yeah, basically, Nicole's point is society is skewed in bad ways.

[00:18:54] Yes, that.

[00:18:55] Thank you.

[00:18:56] Also, read the book by Mariam Kaba called We Do This Till We Free Us.

[00:19:01] It's wonderful.

[00:19:02] Nice.

[00:19:03] I've never heard of that before.

[00:19:04] I'll have to check it out.

[00:19:05] How dare you?

[00:19:06] It's about prison.

[00:19:08] It's about prison and or police abolition.

[00:19:10] It's really good.

[00:19:11] Mm.

[00:19:12] Yeah.

[00:19:13] All right.

[00:19:13] So on the other side of that coin, self-care versus self-sacrifice.

[00:19:19] Toshi.

[00:19:19] Yep.

[00:19:20] Oh, Toshi.

[00:19:21] Toshi.

[00:19:22] Failing to take care of yourself hurts others, too.

[00:19:26] All Might, Izuku, Katsuki, Shoto.

[00:19:28] I'm looking at all y'all.

[00:19:30] Mm-hmm.

[00:19:31] Yep.

[00:19:32] Mm-hmm.

[00:19:33] But at the same time, though, sometimes you just got to do what needs to be done in the

[00:19:37] moment, and it ends tragically, like Night Eye losing his life or Mirio losing his quirk.

[00:19:43] Or maybe you don't actually, you know, really lose anything, but you need a really long time

[00:19:48] to recover, like Kirishima and Fat Gum after that fight with Rappa.

[00:19:54] Like, that's going to take some recovery.

[00:19:57] Yep.

[00:19:58] Yep.

[00:19:59] Yep.

[00:19:59] So once again, really difficult, nuanced topic.

[00:20:04] Hard to balance in everyday life.

[00:20:06] I don't like it.

[00:20:07] Mm-hmm.

[00:20:08] Izuku doesn't either.

[00:20:11] Izuku is having a very hard time.

[00:20:13] Izuku's always having a very hard time, though.

[00:20:16] With everything.

[00:20:17] Yes.

[00:20:18] Yes, he is.

[00:20:19] And then our last theme is the older generation versus the new generation, which is really

[00:20:26] just tradition versus innovation.

[00:20:28] So we see a lot of the older heroes and the villains, and the systems that they've created,

[00:20:35] they're really set in their ways.

[00:20:36] They're resistant to change.

[00:20:38] And they're kind of suspicious of the new generation and their radical ideals.

[00:20:41] They're just like, what?

[00:20:43] What?

[00:20:43] What is happening?

[00:20:44] No.

[00:20:44] Huh?

[00:20:45] What?

[00:20:45] I don't like it.

[00:20:46] Yeah.

[00:20:46] Like, how dare they have better ideas than us and therefore challenge the hegemony we've

[00:20:51] established?

[00:20:52] How dare?

[00:20:53] Mm-hmm.

[00:20:53] Boomers suck.

[00:20:55] Well, it happens with every generation.

[00:20:57] You just...

[00:20:58] I know.

[00:20:59] You get into a rut and the rut feels safe.

[00:21:02] Boomers are a special kind of stuck in their ways, though.

[00:21:07] They are.

[00:21:07] They are.

[00:21:08] They are stuck down in the mud of their ways, and they want everybody else to be stinky

[00:21:13] like them.

[00:21:14] I'm sorry.

[00:21:15] I like to smell pretty, so...

[00:21:18] Yeah.

[00:21:18] Exactly.

[00:21:20] I like my flimory scents.

[00:21:22] Yes.

[00:21:23] Yes.

[00:21:24] You always smell amazing, darling.

[00:21:26] Mm-hmm.

[00:21:26] I have new perfumes, too, courtesy of one of my friends.

[00:21:30] Apparently, she's had, like, over 100.

[00:21:32] What?

[00:21:33] Goodness.

[00:21:34] Why?

[00:21:34] She has ADHD and was going through a phase.

[00:21:38] Fair.

[00:21:38] That's fair.

[00:21:39] Fair.

[00:21:40] Yeah.

[00:21:40] Jinx.

[00:21:44] All right.

[00:21:45] Well, that was most of the difficult stuff, and we're going to get into a little more gentle

[00:21:52] stuff, a little more fun stuff.

[00:21:54] Yay.

[00:21:54] Okay.

[00:21:55] So, a couple of parallels.

[00:21:57] As we discussed, Izuku and Kazuki both learn that the ways that they're pursuing growth

[00:22:02] and power are actually what are holding them back.

[00:22:05] Mm-hmm.

[00:22:05] Yeah.

[00:22:05] They got to go their own way, and you must realize this as you're also singing the song

[00:22:11] from High School Musical, too.

[00:22:13] Mm-hmm.

[00:22:14] They got to go their own way.

[00:22:16] See, my brain went to the song from the Rumors album.

[00:22:20] No clue.

[00:22:21] I have no musical knowledge.

[00:22:23] Why?

[00:22:24] What is the name of that band?

[00:22:25] Oh, my God.

[00:22:25] It's one of my favorite bands, and I can't remember the name.

[00:22:28] Oh, Lord.

[00:22:29] But now I kind of want to watch High School Musical.

[00:22:32] As you should.

[00:22:33] Yes.

[00:22:33] Oh, my God.

[00:22:34] Dude, I recently saw the third one for the first time.

[00:22:37] Don't bother.

[00:22:38] Yeah.

[00:22:38] No.

[00:22:39] Somebody put the High School Musical song when they're in the cafeteria, all dancing around

[00:22:45] for no reason.

[00:22:46] Uh-huh.

[00:22:47] They put it over Jonathan Bailey's song in Wicked and that choreography, and it worked.

[00:22:53] I can see that.

[00:22:54] Yeah.

[00:22:55] Jonathan Bailey is amazing.

[00:22:57] He's so hot.

[00:22:58] Oh, my God.

[00:22:59] He's so hot.

[00:23:00] How?

[00:23:01] He's so gay.

[00:23:01] He's so gay.

[00:23:03] He is so gay.

[00:23:04] Listeners, this episode doesn't come out for, like, another month, but if you haven't seen

[00:23:09] Wicked, go see Wicked.

[00:23:11] It's so good.

[00:23:14] I haven't seen it yet, but I saw it on stage, and it looks great, and everybody on TikTok

[00:23:21] is saying it's great, including Fern, and I trust them.

[00:23:24] Oh, my God.

[00:23:25] Okay.

[00:23:26] Chew has done for Wicked what Jackson did for Lord of the Rings.

[00:23:30] Wow.

[00:23:31] Yeah.

[00:23:32] Okay.

[00:23:32] It's a big statement, and I stand by it.

[00:23:34] Yeah.

[00:23:35] I see it.

[00:23:36] No.

[00:23:36] I feel like you're correct.

[00:23:38] God, it was good.

[00:23:40] I will see it.

[00:23:42] I just don't know when.

[00:23:43] Yeah.

[00:23:44] Eventually, I'll see it, but I don't know when.

[00:23:46] Yeah.

[00:23:46] Much like every other TV show and movie I want to see.

[00:23:50] I will see it.

[00:23:51] It's the when.

[00:23:52] I also want to re-watch Phantom of the Opera.

[00:23:55] Yes.

[00:23:56] Yes.

[00:23:56] I've been wanting to re-watch it for a long time now.

[00:23:59] It's so good.

[00:24:01] The one with Gerard Butler, right?

[00:24:02] Yes.

[00:24:03] Obviously.

[00:24:04] Yes.

[00:24:04] Yes.

[00:24:05] Mm.

[00:24:06] Gerard Butler was.

[00:24:07] Mm.

[00:24:08] He needs to go back to romantic skewed plot lines instead of his random military.

[00:24:15] He's going to be stoic in the live action How to Train Your Dragon, which is stupid in

[00:24:21] and of itself, but hey.

[00:24:23] Interesting.

[00:24:24] Okay.

[00:24:24] I saw the trailer for that and it's magnificent.

[00:24:31] It is.

[00:24:32] It looks great, but also it is also shot for shot the same movie.

[00:24:36] I don't give a shit.

[00:24:38] I don't give a shit.

[00:24:38] I don't really get it.

[00:24:38] If it is the same fucking movie, I'm going to go watch it.

[00:24:41] As you should.

[00:24:42] Go enjoy.

[00:24:43] Like, the animation is good, but I could just watch the animated version.

[00:24:50] Like, it just visually, it's significantly more appealing.

[00:24:52] I just don't give a shit.

[00:25:20] Yes.

[00:25:21] Yes.

[00:25:22] Yes.

[00:25:22] He also doesn't want to acknowledge that he wants to be their third because he's an

[00:25:26] idiot.

[00:25:26] Yeah.

[00:25:27] And repressed.

[00:25:28] Now the plane is over my house.

[00:25:32] Hello?

[00:25:34] Oh, my God.

[00:25:34] But anyway, the point that I wrote down is All Might, Endeavor, and Night Eye finally

[00:25:41] figure out that their way of doing things isn't necessarily the only way.

[00:25:45] Because they're dumb old men.

[00:25:48] They're boobers.

[00:25:50] Your honor.

[00:25:51] They are.

[00:25:52] I almost typed that they're dumb old white men, but they're not.

[00:25:55] They're Japanese.

[00:25:56] So they're just dumb old men.

[00:25:59] I mean, Japanese men are also very dumb.

[00:26:03] That's fair.

[00:26:04] That's fair.

[00:26:04] But also, I'm white.

[00:26:06] And I shouldn't say that because I don't like punching down.

[00:26:09] But also, all men are stupid.

[00:26:12] They are.

[00:26:14] Regardless of where they come from and what they look like.

[00:26:16] They're just dumb.

[00:26:18] Oh, man.

[00:26:19] We have so many feelings.

[00:26:20] I have hair in my mouth.

[00:26:22] Did a clump of forks hair.

[00:26:27] This is so chaotic.

[00:26:27] I love it.

[00:26:28] And, you know, I thought about grabbing a bottle, like, a glass of wine while doing

[00:26:33] these notes.

[00:26:34] It wasn't just a hair.

[00:26:36] There was a clump of forks fur.

[00:26:39] What?

[00:26:39] Ew.

[00:26:40] Where am I?

[00:26:40] Ew.

[00:26:41] I don't know.

[00:26:42] Oh, shit.

[00:26:42] We forgot about Maria's recording snack.

[00:26:45] Hey, Maria.

[00:26:46] What's your recording snack?

[00:26:47] Okay.

[00:26:48] I just snotted out my nose.

[00:26:51] I just have a squirt.

[00:26:52] No snacky snack yet.

[00:26:54] I'm not quite hungry.

[00:26:56] Oh, darn.

[00:26:57] And a late lunch.

[00:26:58] I went to Moe's.

[00:27:00] I had their nachos.

[00:27:03] Yes.

[00:27:04] Delicious.

[00:27:04] Although they changed their bowls and I am mad.

[00:27:07] Bastards.

[00:27:08] Stop changing things.

[00:27:09] I know.

[00:27:11] It was not deep enough, Moe's.

[00:27:15] Moe's.

[00:27:17] We need the deepness for the thrusting of our forks.

[00:27:21] We need the deepness.

[00:27:23] We need it deep.

[00:27:25] Deep.

[00:27:27] Oh, my God.

[00:27:28] Okay.

[00:27:29] Okay.

[00:27:29] Moving on.

[00:27:30] Flash forwards.

[00:27:33] We are responsible academic podcasters.

[00:27:39] Okay.

[00:27:40] First flash forward.

[00:27:41] Aerie's backstory very closely mirrors Shiggy's, which we will learn more about later.

[00:27:47] Yeah.

[00:27:48] Not to mention the actual intersections of Aerie, Shiggy, and also overhaul's pasts.

[00:27:53] That's fun.

[00:27:54] Yeah.

[00:27:54] That's far in the future, but yup.

[00:27:56] Ow.

[00:27:57] Also, Gentle Criminal's redemption arc is already hinted at.

[00:28:02] Yeah.

[00:28:03] Rat bastard.

[00:28:04] He's just trying.

[00:28:05] He just keeps trying to make me like him and it's not going to work.

[00:28:08] He's just, he's just stinky.

[00:28:10] I don't like it.

[00:28:11] He is a little sneaky.

[00:28:13] Stinky, but I love him.

[00:28:14] Stinky.

[00:28:15] I mean, look at him.

[00:28:16] He was rolling around in the dirt fighting a teenager about his failed life choices.

[00:28:21] Stinky.

[00:28:23] I prefer him like a hundred times more than never.

[00:28:27] Endeavor can suck a dick.

[00:28:28] That's true.

[00:28:29] That's true.

[00:28:30] Yes, I agree.

[00:28:31] But also he's stinky.

[00:28:33] Just like my cat fork.

[00:28:35] Yeah, he's a stinky good boy.

[00:28:37] Well, speaking of Endeavor, our next flash forward is that Hawks and Endeavor team up and they

[00:28:43] really team up.

[00:28:44] They are now a bonded pair.

[00:28:46] Do not separate.

[00:28:47] Yeah.

[00:28:48] Stupid, stupid ass Hawks and his stupid parasocial crushed nonsense.

[00:28:53] There's so many better heroes.

[00:28:55] Hawks.

[00:28:56] Mm-hmm.

[00:28:57] But yeah, they spend pretty much the rest of this series working together.

[00:29:06] Much to Endeavor's chagrin.

[00:29:09] Yep.

[00:29:09] Hold on.

[00:29:10] I gotta cough.

[00:29:11] Oh my god.

[00:29:12] I'm dying.

[00:29:13] Welcome to the club.

[00:29:15] Ugh.

[00:29:15] We all dying.

[00:29:16] I don't like being in the club.

[00:29:19] We all dying.

[00:29:26] I'm dying.

[00:29:26] Youths, I'm trying to like keep up with you.

[00:29:29] I'm trying.

[00:29:31] Oh, I stopped trying.

[00:29:32] I just, whatever.

[00:29:33] I just end up in interesting parts of the internet.

[00:29:37] Except lately because I haven't had internet.

[00:29:40] Because I'm fine.

[00:29:43] I don't know what I would do without my daily ticky-talkies.

[00:29:46] I would self-combust.

[00:29:47] It was hard as fuck.

[00:29:54] A 90-something day streak with one of my sisters.

[00:30:00] Oh no!

[00:30:02] And she had to pay to keep it.

[00:30:05] I can't believe she paid.

[00:30:07] It's 90 days, okay?

[00:30:09] That's true.

[00:30:10] But I still would have said just fuck it.

[00:30:12] It was only 99 cents, I think.

[00:30:15] Or something like that.

[00:30:16] It wasn't too bad.

[00:30:17] But still.

[00:30:17] I'm never giving TikTok a cent.

[00:30:24] Oh lord.

[00:30:25] So moving on to popular season four fan-ins.

[00:30:29] There aren't really that many.

[00:30:30] Just because I haven't really been on MHA talk in a while.

[00:30:35] But um.

[00:30:36] Plus season four kind of happened a while ago.

[00:30:38] So.

[00:30:39] Yeah.

[00:30:39] Yeah.

[00:30:40] It's just not in the.

[00:30:41] It's not in the discourse anymore.

[00:30:43] Yeah.

[00:30:43] But some popular ships that got some screen time this season are Shoto and Inasa.

[00:30:49] Hawks and Endeavor.

[00:30:50] I know Maria's mad that I mentioned that.

[00:30:52] But it's worth mentioning.

[00:30:53] Fuck.

[00:30:55] Endeavor.

[00:30:56] Hawks is trying.

[00:30:57] Hawks is trying real hard.

[00:31:01] Hawks.

[00:31:02] Then uh.

[00:31:03] Kaminari and Jiro.

[00:31:05] Mirio and Tamaki.

[00:31:06] Nighteye and All Might.

[00:31:08] And then Kirishima and Mina.

[00:31:10] It's not my ship.

[00:31:11] But it is a popular one.

[00:31:13] Yeah.

[00:31:13] It's like I guess it's cute.

[00:31:14] But also it's not even there.

[00:31:16] But fine.

[00:31:18] Like I can see where they're coming from.

[00:31:21] Yeah.

[00:31:21] Sure.

[00:31:22] I guess.

[00:31:23] Um.

[00:31:24] Also for some reason my brain read Inasa.

[00:31:27] Like the big dumb wind guy.

[00:31:29] I read it as one B student Awase.

[00:31:32] Like.

[00:31:33] They're not even close.

[00:31:35] But I guess the S and the E.

[00:31:36] I don't know.

[00:31:37] Um.

[00:31:38] And I was so confused for like 10 seconds.

[00:31:40] Cause I was like.

[00:31:41] When did Shoto and Awase have a date?

[00:31:44] But.

[00:31:45] It wasn't Awase.

[00:31:47] It was Inasa.

[00:31:47] But also.

[00:31:48] Now I ship Shoto and Awase.

[00:31:50] Awase.

[00:31:50] I can see it.

[00:31:51] I can see it.

[00:31:52] Yep.

[00:31:53] Also I think this is when people like really ramped up the speculation that All Might was

[00:31:57] going to die in like the typical mentor sacrifices themselves for mentee way.

[00:32:02] So that is also included here.

[00:32:04] Yeah.

[00:32:05] I mean that's very understandable since it's also this season where All Might like basically

[00:32:11] like dedicates himself to overturning that trope.

[00:32:14] Like I'm going to live.

[00:32:16] Yeah.

[00:32:16] I'm going to live for my son cause he's a good boy.

[00:32:19] Yeah.

[00:32:20] Yep.

[00:32:20] Yep.

[00:32:21] Honestly though.

[00:32:22] I wouldn't have been mad if they had killed him off.

[00:32:26] How dare you?

[00:32:27] First of all.

[00:32:28] He deserves a very nice retirement home.

[00:32:32] Many mentors die on me.

[00:32:35] So like one more would have just been like another checkbox you know?

[00:32:40] You have trauma.

[00:32:43] Please visit this in therapy.

[00:32:45] Play.

[00:32:46] Oh man.

[00:32:47] I definitely think the story works out better with him living for sure.

[00:32:52] For sure.

[00:32:53] Cause it's a superhero genre but we're inverting the tropes.

[00:32:57] Oh.

[00:32:59] All right.

[00:33:00] Well moving on to some personal season four headcanons.

[00:33:03] I have a couple.

[00:33:04] My first one is that Kami and Katsuki are besties and they have a private chat where they

[00:33:10] make fun of people together.

[00:33:11] Obviously.

[00:33:12] Yep.

[00:33:13] Yep.

[00:33:13] My second one is that Tokoyami finally conquers the F chord.

[00:33:17] Good job.

[00:33:17] And my third is that Katsuki also knows how to play the trombone, bagpipes and didgeridoo

[00:33:24] because his parents insisted that he take music lessons.

[00:33:27] So he intentionally chose the loudest instruments he could think of.

[00:33:32] Yes.

[00:33:33] Agreed.

[00:33:34] Canon.

[00:33:35] Yep.

[00:33:35] I can see it.

[00:33:36] Mm-hmm.

[00:33:37] Especially the bagpipes one.

[00:33:39] Oh yeah.

[00:33:39] Oh yeah.

[00:33:40] And he plays them hauntingly well.

[00:33:42] Cause he's got me.

[00:33:43] Oh yeah.

[00:33:44] Yeah.

[00:33:44] No.

[00:33:44] He's very good at all of them.

[00:33:47] Yep.

[00:33:49] All right.

[00:33:49] Well my headcanons.

[00:33:51] One, the truth teller quirk guy.

[00:33:53] He was clearly in love with overhaul, but I feel like he gets a much needed therapy because

[00:34:00] he kind of got beat down kind of hard.

[00:34:05] Mm-hmm.

[00:34:05] Mm-hmm.

[00:34:05] Mm-hmm.

[00:34:06] Also, Katsuki always showed up first and early to every single band practice because

[00:34:12] he secretly enjoyed the camaraderie and the fact that his talent so easily meshed with

[00:34:17] everyone else's rather than just shooting to the top like with his quirk.

[00:34:21] Mm-hmm.

[00:34:22] Mm-hmm.

[00:34:22] Canon.

[00:34:23] Because he's a baby.

[00:34:24] Also, Jiro and Momo brought Denki into their polycule during this time or like they started

[00:34:30] the process.

[00:34:32] 100%.

[00:34:33] Yep.

[00:34:34] Yep.

[00:34:34] Uh, I have no headcanons.

[00:34:38] Make up one on the spot.

[00:34:39] Um.

[00:34:40] Quick.

[00:34:42] So, Eerie will just randomly start singing the song and annoying.

[00:34:47] Oh.

[00:34:50] That's so cute.

[00:34:52] Yeah.

[00:34:52] That's the cutest.

[00:34:53] I don't think Aizawa would be annoyed at all.

[00:34:55] I think he would be ecstatic.

[00:34:57] He would pretend to be annoyed.

[00:34:59] There we go.

[00:35:00] Yes.

[00:35:00] Like, again, Eerie?

[00:35:04] I love that.

[00:35:06] That's perfect.

[00:35:07] Yeah.

[00:35:08] Okay.

[00:35:08] That's my headcanon.

[00:35:10] Nice.

[00:35:10] Good job.

[00:35:11] Thank you.

[00:35:13] So, getting into our favorite parts.

[00:35:16] Uh, mine was the school festival performance.

[00:35:18] The entire remedial course arc.

[00:35:21] Every single second of it was amazing.

[00:35:23] Um, and then I loved Gentle Criminals and Labrava's just absolutely Delulu love affair.

[00:35:30] Mm-hmm.

[00:35:30] Mm-hmm.

[00:35:30] Yeah.

[00:35:31] Um, I loved all of the amazing fight scenes.

[00:35:34] They were so good.

[00:35:36] Mm-hmm.

[00:35:36] Um, I loved Gentle Criminal getting absolutely wrecked.

[00:35:40] Mm-hmm.

[00:35:42] Because he sucks.

[00:35:43] Um, I loved Gong Orca just yeeting the students in the remedial course arc.

[00:35:49] Mm-hmm.

[00:35:50] Mm-hmm.

[00:35:50] Mm-hmm.

[00:35:51] I love that so much.

[00:35:53] It's so good.

[00:35:54] And, of course, I loved Endeavor getting bitch slapped socially, emotionally, and then across the face with a physical slash.

[00:36:02] Mm-hmm.

[00:36:02] That was nice.

[00:36:03] Yeah.

[00:36:04] So, my favorite part, uh, definitely the school performance.

[00:36:09] Mm-hmm.

[00:36:09] Mm-hmm.

[00:36:09] Um, oh, God, I just had one.

[00:36:12] Fuck!

[00:36:13] Endeavor getting bitch slapped.

[00:36:15] Well, yeah, definitely Endeavor getting bitch slapped.

[00:36:18] He should have, theoretically, gone and bitch slapped some more.

[00:36:22] Yes.

[00:36:22] But, that's just my personal preference.

[00:36:25] I mean, he continues to get bitch slapped.

[00:36:27] Spoiler, not spoiler.

[00:36:28] He gets-

[00:36:28] Yeah.

[00:36:29] He gets beat up.

[00:36:30] He gets so, yeah.

[00:36:33] He should be, like, at all-night level, lost a couple organs, you know?

[00:36:39] He gets there.

[00:36:44] It shouldn't have happened sooner.

[00:36:46] Anyways.

[00:36:46] That's fair.

[00:36:48] He should have lost his eye, bitch.

[00:36:51] I'm like, yes.

[00:36:53] It's just an entire book's worth of Endeavor getting tortured.

[00:36:58] And Maria's like, yes, finally.

[00:37:00] Losing body parts.

[00:37:01] Yeah, no, I need an entire, like, 200-page book of different ways to torture Endeavor.

[00:37:11] I feel like they have that.

[00:37:13] And Vanetta, but, you know.

[00:37:14] They have that?

[00:37:15] It's called AO3.

[00:37:17] Yeah.

[00:37:18] And also, the torture museum.

[00:37:20] Just put Endeavor in there.

[00:37:23] Mm-hmm.

[00:37:23] True.

[00:37:25] Oh, God.

[00:37:26] What was that one?

[00:37:29] Was it the concert?

[00:37:31] Was it the-

[00:37:32] I already said the concert.

[00:37:33] Was it something in overhauls nonsense?

[00:37:36] Cheese!

[00:37:36] Fucking cheese!

[00:37:37] Cheese!

[00:37:39] How have we forgotten about cheese?

[00:37:46] We're the worst podcasters ever.

[00:37:48] We forgot the cheese.

[00:37:50] We forgot the cheese.

[00:37:54] Oh, sweet, sweet.

[00:37:55] Yeah, hands down.

[00:37:56] The cheese is my favorite part.

[00:37:58] Yes.

[00:37:59] Perfect.

[00:37:59] Perfect.

[00:38:00] Other than Eerie.

[00:38:01] Eerie is, like, right there next to cheese.

[00:38:03] Yes.

[00:38:03] Mm-hmm.

[00:38:04] Mm-hmm.

[00:38:04] All right, moving on to least favorite parts.

[00:38:07] Mine are pretty fucking obvious.

[00:38:09] Nighteye's tickle machine and his weirdo nerd-off with Izuku.

[00:38:13] Hated all of that.

[00:38:15] And then the countdown before the festival starts.

[00:38:18] I kind of liked his weirdo nerd-off with Izuku.

[00:38:22] I would have enjoyed it more if it weren't for the fucking tickle machine.

[00:38:26] Gross.

[00:38:27] No.

[00:38:27] Nobody asked for that.

[00:38:28] That is not HR-approved.

[00:38:31] But also, I dislike Gentle Criminal just as a whole.

[00:38:36] Labrava's cool.

[00:38:37] Gentle is not.

[00:38:41] Honestly, I didn't mind Nighteye's tickle machine as much.

[00:38:44] Of course you didn't because you have trauma from anime.

[00:38:49] It's probably, like, not even in top 100 weird things you've seen.

[00:38:54] No.

[00:38:55] The top number one, though.

[00:38:56] I can tell you my top number one of weirdest shit I've seen in anime.

[00:39:01] Oh, no.

[00:39:03] What was it?

[00:39:04] Okay, so there's this one anime where how it's this priest and a nun.

[00:39:10] Okay.

[00:39:11] And the priest gets powers by sucking on the nun's titties and drinking her breast milk.

[00:39:19] How is she lactating?

[00:39:20] Yeah.

[00:39:21] I don't know.

[00:39:22] She could be freshly childbirthed and a nun.

[00:39:27] How dare you?

[00:39:27] Was he sucking on her titties that often?

[00:39:29] Yes.

[00:39:30] You only need to do it, like, once a day.

[00:39:32] Damn.

[00:39:33] I love that.

[00:39:34] That's great.

[00:39:36] Yeah, that's kind of hilarious, actually.

[00:39:38] Was it consensual, though?

[00:39:41] I guess it was.

[00:39:42] Okay.

[00:39:43] Unfortunately.

[00:39:44] Oh, yeah.

[00:39:44] No holds barred, then.

[00:39:45] Go for it.

[00:39:46] Suck them titties.

[00:39:47] But it was so weird.

[00:39:49] I was like, no.

[00:39:51] I was like, no?

[00:39:52] How young were you when you saw this?

[00:39:54] Oh, yeah.

[00:39:55] Good question.

[00:39:56] I was in college.

[00:39:58] Okay.

[00:39:58] Okay, that could be worse.

[00:39:59] So not traumatizing in that way.

[00:40:02] No, not traumatizing in that way.

[00:40:03] It was just weird.

[00:40:04] I mean, there's also, you know, a bunch of soju where there's one soju where the girl

[00:40:10] ends up with her brother, who's technically her grandfather.

[00:40:14] Oh, yeah.

[00:40:15] That's the vampire one, right?

[00:40:17] Yeah.

[00:40:17] Yeah.

[00:40:18] Oh, yeah.

[00:40:19] I read that one in middle school.

[00:40:21] Trauma.

[00:40:22] All of you had trauma.

[00:40:26] Not really.

[00:40:27] It wasn't that traumatizing.

[00:40:28] It was just like, oh, that was weird.

[00:40:30] It was incest.

[00:40:30] All right.

[00:40:31] Yeah, incest was just casually thrown into a lot of anime.

[00:40:34] Oh, the 90s and early aughts.

[00:40:37] There was so much not goodness.

[00:40:43] Okay.

[00:40:44] Anyways, my least favorite part.

[00:40:47] That's what we were trying to talk.

[00:40:50] Anything with Endeavor's face on it.

[00:40:52] Yep.

[00:40:54] Yep.

[00:40:56] Let's see.

[00:40:57] I don't know.

[00:40:58] That's the only thing I hated.

[00:41:00] It's just Endeavor.

[00:41:02] Probably the one's quirk that I hated, specifically.

[00:41:04] Oh, was it the cockroach guy?

[00:41:08] Yes.

[00:41:09] Fucking cockroach guy.

[00:41:10] That was so bad.

[00:41:12] Sent to Peter.

[00:41:13] Yeah.

[00:41:13] Yeah.

[00:41:14] He's cute.

[00:41:16] He's a good worker.

[00:41:22] But yeah.

[00:41:23] There we go.

[00:41:24] Okay.

[00:41:25] Fair.

[00:41:26] Totally fair.

[00:41:27] Yep.

[00:41:28] Yep.

[00:41:28] So moving on to husband rankings, and I made this more difficult.

[00:41:32] You can only include characters who appear on screen in season four, specifically.

[00:41:37] How dare you?

[00:41:38] Uh-huh.

[00:41:39] Uh-huh.

[00:41:39] So I chose Miriko, Fat Gum, Ryukyu, Kamui Woods, Inko, Toshi, Gong, Orca, and Kurogiri.

[00:41:48] Mm-hmm.

[00:41:49] I chose Aizawa, Hawks, Fat Gum, All Might, all his forms.

[00:41:54] Mm-hmm.

[00:41:55] Gong, Orca.

[00:41:56] That one silver-haired overhaul wacky who stabbed Aizawa.

[00:42:00] That was hot.

[00:42:01] Oh, yeah.

[00:42:02] The J-pop star.

[00:42:04] Yeah.

[00:42:04] The J-pop star wannabe who kind of got lost in Japan.

[00:42:08] Yeah.

[00:42:09] Yeah.

[00:42:09] Yeah.

[00:42:10] And also, present Mike, but also specifically when he's making eyes at the kindergarten teacher.

[00:42:16] Like, yes, sir.

[00:42:18] That was kind of hot.

[00:42:19] I forget all of the people that were on season four.

[00:42:23] Not gonna lie.

[00:42:24] That's fair.

[00:42:25] There is a lot.

[00:42:29] So Aizawa, obviously.

[00:42:31] Fat Gum, obviously.

[00:42:33] Mm-hmm.

[00:42:34] All Might.

[00:42:35] My dragon queen, always.

[00:43:07] Um, mm-hmm.

[00:43:08] I have no memory of the previous kin assignments.

[00:43:12] So I feel like I am freshly outraged by your correct assignment.

[00:43:18] How dare you?

[00:43:20] Um, I wrote my picks.

[00:43:23] How dare you?

[00:43:25] Um, for Fern, I pick Tamaki specifically because you can't stand the pressure of the countdown.

[00:43:34] Oh, you know what's really funny?

[00:43:35] When I was a little kid, I was also painfully shy.

[00:43:39] Oh, same.

[00:43:40] Oh, we are traumatized.

[00:43:43] Um, and then for Maria, I picked Midnight and Mount Lady's, like, Fusion or Little Child.

[00:43:49] Um, but, but one that has more Midnight features than Mount Lady features.

[00:43:55] Yeah, I can see that.

[00:43:56] You guys are both correct.

[00:43:57] I'm definitely the Midnight of her group.

[00:44:00] Oh, yeah.

[00:44:01] 100%.

[00:44:02] I feel like that makes Miyazawa and Fern is present Mike.

[00:44:07] Uh, yeah.

[00:44:08] Probably.

[00:44:08] Probably.

[00:44:10] Uh, yeah.

[00:44:12] Nicole, yeah.

[00:44:13] I still choose Iida for you.

[00:44:15] How dare you?

[00:44:16] I think I chose it last time, too.

[00:44:19] And, yep.

[00:44:20] It just fits.

[00:44:21] It just fits.

[00:44:22] Meanwhile, I akin myself with Bakugo.

[00:44:25] Okay.

[00:44:26] Hilarious, but cute.

[00:44:28] It's cute, but no.

[00:44:30] I know.

[00:44:31] I know.

[00:44:31] We just have a lot of the same inferiority, not personality.

[00:44:36] Yeah.

[00:44:36] Yeah, I think your personality is more like Iida's.

[00:44:39] Yeah.

[00:44:40] Yeah.

[00:44:41] He's a lot more-

[00:44:42] I think a lot of your little quirks are more like Iida's, too.

[00:44:45] Yeah.

[00:44:45] He's just a lot more extroverted than I am.

[00:44:48] Like, he talks in public.

[00:44:50] Like, how?

[00:44:51] What?

[00:44:53] Um, for Fern?

[00:44:55] Hmm.

[00:44:56] Gotta think about this.

[00:44:58] I'm trying to go through, like, all of the characters that we're on season four, and

[00:45:03] I can't think of a single one.

[00:45:05] Lately, I've been feeling like Aizawa.

[00:45:07] I wanna take a nap.

[00:45:10] And eat some food.

[00:45:11] That's not enough.

[00:45:13] That's not enough.

[00:45:14] Yeah.

[00:45:14] I know.

[00:45:15] I know.

[00:45:16] I'm just also just done with everything.

[00:45:19] Yeah.

[00:45:21] Hmm.

[00:45:22] Yeah, I think Tamaki does fit, though.

[00:45:24] I'm just gonna go and say Tamaki.

[00:45:27] Sounds good.

[00:45:28] Sounds good.

[00:45:28] Yeah.

[00:45:29] Also, because I can't think of anything.

[00:45:30] There's too many.

[00:45:32] Tamaki was definitely child me, for sure.

[00:45:35] Mm-hmm.

[00:45:36] Mm-hmm.

[00:45:36] Yeah.

[00:45:37] Yeah, actually.

[00:45:38] Yeah.

[00:45:39] Yeah.

[00:45:39] Mm-hmm.

[00:45:40] Aw.

[00:45:41] It was fine.

[00:45:43] Fern and I became friends, and then I went off the deep end.

[00:45:49] Yep.

[00:45:49] We both just sailed off the deep end.

[00:45:52] Yep.

[00:45:53] And two very different types of deep ends, too.

[00:45:55] Oh, yeah.

[00:45:56] Oh, yeah.

[00:45:57] Yeah.

[00:45:59] Our personalities finally came out, and everyone was like, damn.

[00:46:01] Okay.

[00:46:02] Yeah.

[00:46:05] Oh, man.

[00:46:07] So, final comments before we wrap this up.

[00:46:09] Well, I, when I was doing these notes, I was about to dive into Heroes Rising for our

[00:46:16] next bonus episode.

[00:46:19] When I wrote these, I apologized for the long length of the notes that were to come, and

[00:46:24] now I take back my apology, because you're all going to suffer with me.

[00:46:28] Mm-hmm.

[00:46:28] And you're not going to suffer, because our commentary is amazing.

[00:46:31] I don't know about mine, but yours, I'm sure, is wonderful.
