[00:00:00] Hey y'all, this podcast contains cursing, references to alcohol, marijuana and other drugs,
[00:00:06] and thirsty comments about adult characters.
[00:00:09] Thanks for listening.
[00:00:10] Hey y'all, this is My Hero Analysis, a podcast about My Hero Academia, aka Bokono Hero Academia.
[00:00:30] We are three grown adults whom my Japanese children's cartoons were serotonin because
[00:00:34] God knows our brains aren't making it naturally.
[00:00:37] Hey y'all, I'm Fern and full disclosure, I almost forgot to do these notes because I
[00:00:42] almost forgot that we were doing a double recording this week.
[00:00:47] But never fear, this is a Kirishima-centric episode, so you know I brought my A game.
[00:00:53] And by A game, I mean I wrote a lot.
[00:00:57] Yeah.
[00:00:58] I'm Nicole and I was going to tell y'all about what I was doing when I was doing
[00:01:03] these notes, but more importantly, Fern refuses to be converted to the cult of Lance.
[00:01:11] If y'all listened to the last episode, you know what I'm talking about and how dare.
[00:01:16] You can't convince me that's not a 15 year old.
[00:01:18] I'm sorry.
[00:01:19] He's 25 at his youngest.
[00:01:20] Okay.
[00:01:21] He is an adult.
[00:01:23] Oh man.
[00:01:26] Pokemon is not the property for me.
[00:01:29] At least not for being attracted to characters.
[00:01:33] There are so many attractive characters though.
[00:01:37] They're all attractive.
[00:01:38] How dare they?
[00:01:39] I love y'all so much.
[00:01:42] Hi, I'm Maria and so when I started these notes, I had a feeling that I was just going
[00:01:48] to sit in the background while Fern and Nicole let out their curie feelings after
[00:01:52] doing the notes very accurate.
[00:01:55] Yes.
[00:01:57] It's just like massive walls of white and blue text or black and blue text is terrible.
[00:02:05] So Maria, what is the recording snack that you will be eating while Nicole and I have
[00:02:11] our feelings?
[00:02:13] Nothing.
[00:02:14] I'm so full from the snacks from the last.
[00:02:17] Oh my gosh.
[00:02:19] Not even some popcorn.
[00:02:21] Look, the poofs.
[00:02:22] The poofs.
[00:02:23] The poofs.
[00:02:24] I want popcorn.
[00:02:25] I want popcorn now.
[00:02:28] Sorry.
[00:02:29] Yeah, no, I was like eating poofs and like the chocolate and now my brain is like no more.
[00:02:37] Also, I'm trying not to ruin my dinner.
[00:02:39] Mmm.
[00:02:40] I am making so I got these things from H Mart.
[00:02:44] They are Korean pancakes and I'm making a soup potato one and it's just fun.
[00:02:50] Yum.
[00:02:51] Oh my God.
[00:02:52] That sounds incredible.
[00:02:53] I'm having soup.
[00:02:54] I don't know what I'm having yet.
[00:02:56] I'll need to look at my leftovers.
[00:02:58] But anyway, I know we don't have any fan mail to talk about but do we have any news?
[00:03:05] Not really like not big news or anything like that, but they did just say on Twitter,
[00:03:11] which is not X.
[00:03:12] I will never call it X.
[00:03:14] No, they just tweeted that you can now buy personalized Hanco stamps and I hope I'm
[00:03:20] pronouncing that some semi correctly and the stamps have the MHA characters and these
[00:03:26] are literally Fern's nightmare come to life.
[00:03:29] These are the stamps that night eye uses to fully humiliate humiliate Izuqu.
[00:03:34] I'm telling you it's not the stamp.
[00:03:37] It's the stamp.
[00:03:38] It's the stamp.
[00:03:40] And it's Funko.
[00:03:42] It is?
[00:03:43] It's Funko, yeah.
[00:03:44] Okay.
[00:03:45] You were closing up.
[00:03:47] It's Funko and then it's also Funko Pop.
[00:03:50] I have questions.
[00:03:52] I do not have answers, but it's Funko.
[00:03:54] Japan.
[00:03:56] Maybe they're like the same under the same umbrella corporation.
[00:04:01] Well, it's spelled H-A-N-K-O in the tweet, which comes from like the official sources.
[00:04:07] I don't know.
[00:04:08] I'm confused.
[00:04:09] I'm still just very confused why Fern isn't in love with Lance at first glance.
[00:04:14] Oh my God.
[00:04:20] You need to play the Johto game.
[00:04:23] I do not.
[00:04:24] I do not.
[00:04:25] I don't play video games.
[00:04:26] I'm sorry.
[00:04:27] We'll do a let's play of just the Mahogany town arc and you will understand.
[00:04:33] Okay, fine.
[00:04:34] That's fine.
[00:04:35] We'll do that.
[00:04:36] Okay.
[00:04:37] Anyway, good lord.
[00:04:38] I'm never going to let this go until you're in love.
[00:04:43] She's really not y'all.
[00:04:44] She's dead serious.
[00:04:47] This is going to be our new bit for the next like six months.
[00:04:51] But anyway, this week we're covering episode nine of my hero academia season four, Red Riot,
[00:04:58] which in the manga is chapters 142 through 145.
[00:05:03] I am going to lead us through a synopsis that is not even remotely quick at all.
[00:05:07] It's very long.
[00:05:09] Very, very long.
[00:05:10] Then we're going to hand it over to Maria for her science corner.
[00:05:14] Are we?
[00:05:15] I think we are.
[00:05:16] Do we have science corner?
[00:05:17] It's not as expansive as last one, but it's still pretty, pretty thick.
[00:05:21] It's a thick boy.
[00:05:22] Yeah, thick boy.
[00:05:23] It a chode.
[00:05:24] Nasty.
[00:05:25] So after Maria's science chode, Nicole is going to jump in for discussion topics,
[00:05:37] manga differences and Easter eggs.
[00:05:39] And then we'll wrap up the episode with our big spoiler section.
[00:05:42] If we have one, I did not check.
[00:05:44] I don't remember.
[00:05:46] Lord, this is just how today is going to be.
[00:05:52] All right.
[00:05:53] I'm trying not to die.
[00:05:56] Oh my God.
[00:05:59] Okay, synopsis.
[00:06:01] So the episode starts where we left off with Tamaki winning the fight.
[00:06:06] And we learned that he uses octopus venom to help restrain the villains.
[00:06:11] But then unfortunately, he put so much energy into the fight that he collapses before he
[00:06:16] can rejoin the others.
[00:06:18] My poor sweet boy.
[00:06:19] He's such a hard.
[00:06:21] Yeah.
[00:06:22] Yeah.
[00:06:23] So we cut to the others and Izuku and Kirishima are still worried about Tamaki, but Fatgum
[00:06:29] again reassures them that he will be fine.
[00:06:34] Yep.
[00:06:35] Yep.
[00:06:36] I have two things.
[00:06:37] First, Rock Lock being absolutely done with Kirishima is so relatable.
[00:06:45] But it's also wrong only because it's Kirishima.
[00:06:48] Like if it was about Mirio, yes, he would be correct and like most of the other characters
[00:06:54] in the show, but it's Kirishima.
[00:06:56] So you're wrong.
[00:06:57] Also, second thing, Nidai, he needs to stop running like he's running.
[00:07:04] He's not beating any of the Yawai allegations with that particular form.
[00:07:10] He doesn't want to.
[00:07:11] He embraces the Yawai allegations.
[00:07:13] 100%.
[00:07:14] Sir, not sir.
[00:07:19] I still don't like him.
[00:07:22] He's a good character, but I don't like him as a person.
[00:07:24] Oh yeah.
[00:07:25] No, I could never be in the same room as him.
[00:07:27] I'd be like, shut the fuck up.
[00:07:29] I'd be like, I need to throw darts at your giant hands and your tiny head.
[00:07:34] Sir, not sir.
[00:07:36] Also, far more importantly, Aizawa here is literally perfect in this scene.
[00:07:42] It's curly and wavy and full and voluminous and it's perfect.
[00:07:46] Yeah.
[00:07:47] Man is perfection at all times, even when running full force or slightly the crepe
[00:07:53] it, but that is further times away.
[00:07:56] He's just a little dirty.
[00:07:59] He's fine.
[00:08:00] Yeah, he's fine.
[00:08:01] He's always a model.
[00:08:03] So Mimic is occupied with the police upstairs, but then we do see him check in on the battle
[00:08:09] that Tamaki was fighting and he is surprised to see that Tamaki defeated three villains
[00:08:13] all by himself, but he shouldn't be because Tamaki is awesome.
[00:08:17] Yeah, listen to fat go.
[00:08:20] And then we have a quick cut to Bubble Girl who is interviewing some of the captured
[00:08:23] villains and they're all like overhauls fucking crazy and he is definitely going
[00:08:28] to escape.
[00:08:29] So good fucking luck with that.
[00:08:31] Yeah, yeah.
[00:08:32] They're they're basically like overhauls nuts and we don't like him or his little
[00:08:37] click.
[00:08:38] I honestly bet that most of them she is like I members are going to like flip
[00:08:44] on him in a heartbeat just to get the real boss back.
[00:08:49] Absolutely.
[00:08:50] Yep, agree.
[00:08:52] So we cut back to Kirishima and the others mimic attacks Aizawa and
[00:08:57] Kirishima and Fat Gunn get separated from the others when they both try to defend
[00:09:02] Aizawa at the same time.
[00:09:03] Mm hmm.
[00:09:04] Yeah, because that's their husband.
[00:09:06] Well, it's that he's Fat Gunn's husband.
[00:09:09] Yeah, and Kirishima's dad.
[00:09:11] Kirishima's dad.
[00:09:12] Yes.
[00:09:13] Also, he was such a damsel in distress in this scene as all like he even had
[00:09:19] like the posture kind of curled up a little bit correct.
[00:09:23] Hi.
[00:09:24] Yes.
[00:09:25] Yeah, all he needs is the poofy dress and he's there.
[00:09:29] Literally.
[00:09:30] Yeah.
[00:09:31] Also hot.
[00:09:32] Yes.
[00:09:33] So Kirishima and Fat Gunn get knocked into this dark room and they first they appear
[00:09:38] to be alone.
[00:09:39] But then this villain comes out and just starts punching them out of nowhere.
[00:09:44] And Kirishima jumps in front of Fat Gunn trying to defend him.
[00:09:48] But some of his unbreakable armor breaks off and my boy is hurt.
[00:09:52] Yeah, he big hurt.
[00:09:54] You can actually see his muscle tissues.
[00:09:57] He got his first real alley and I want them all to go to jail.
[00:10:03] Agreed, agreed.
[00:10:04] How dare they?
[00:10:05] So we are introduced to Kendo Rappa and oh God, I can't remember how his
[00:10:10] name is pronounced.
[00:10:11] Hakeeji.
[00:10:12] Yep.
[00:10:13] Hakeeji, cool.
[00:10:14] So Rappa likes to punch things and Hakeeji can create force field shields.
[00:10:18] And there's like a bunch of banter about shields and spears.
[00:10:21] We'll get to it.
[00:10:22] But basically Rappa wants a fair fight, quote unquote.
[00:10:26] He just wants to hit people.
[00:10:28] So Hakeeji backs down on the shields and he just lets Kendo and Fat Gunn go at it.
[00:10:34] Yeah, yeah.
[00:10:35] I like how Rappa he's against using weapons.
[00:10:40] Like he doesn't want to use guns.
[00:10:42] He doesn't want to use knives, like any of that in a fight.
[00:10:45] But he's also literally wearing super brass knuckles like my guy.
[00:10:51] In his head, those don't count.
[00:10:53] And also that just reminded me like that's probably
[00:10:57] his version of knuckles from Sonic.
[00:11:01] Yeah. Oh my God.
[00:11:04] He's totally knuckles.
[00:11:05] Even has the same hair.
[00:11:08] You're welcome.
[00:11:08] Beautiful.
[00:11:11] A wonderful likes him.
[00:11:13] Anyway, so like I I
[00:11:16] I do wonder, though, on a more serious actual pertinent point,
[00:11:21] I do wonder if like I saw was erasure would have worked through the force fields.
[00:11:28] And like if it did, this fight would have been over real quick.
[00:11:34] But also what if it wasn't?
[00:11:35] I need answers.
[00:11:37] Korykoshi, I think as long as he can like physically see them,
[00:11:40] he can erase just like whatever.
[00:11:43] Yeah, but it doesn't have to go through the force field or is it just
[00:11:48] like mental or psychic?
[00:11:50] I need answers.
[00:11:53] Korykoshi has the answers, but he's not going to reveal anything until
[00:11:56] like the series is over.
[00:11:58] Yeah, no, he he likes not telling me things personally.
[00:12:01] He's laughing in his office right now.
[00:12:04] I am choosing to believe that he can psychically
[00:12:08] mess around with people's DNA to turn off their work.
[00:12:11] OK, OK.
[00:12:13] I need confirmation from Korykoshi, but we'll go with it.
[00:12:17] So yeah, Rapa and Fatgum having a fistfight.
[00:12:21] They're both having the time of their lives in their own way.
[00:12:24] Not really.
[00:12:25] That's not having a good time.
[00:12:28] He's not having a good time, but I just I do.
[00:12:30] I just have this feeling that like deep down in his soul,
[00:12:33] he really appreciates of like a good bare knuckle fight.
[00:12:37] And he hardly ever like gets to have like a really good one
[00:12:40] where he's actually challenged.
[00:12:41] So there's probably a small part of him that is like kind of sort of enjoying this.
[00:12:46] I guess. But he likes to be beat up.
[00:12:48] Yeah, he's just he's just getting beat up.
[00:12:50] It's not even a good fight.
[00:12:51] He's just getting punched.
[00:12:53] Yeah, he does appear to slowly be losing the fight.
[00:12:57] And Kirishima is freaking the fuck out and Rapa taunts
[00:13:01] for Kirishima about his fear because he's mean.
[00:13:04] He is a little mean.
[00:13:06] Poor Kira Pima.
[00:13:08] You're not useless.
[00:13:10] My poor sweet emo child.
[00:13:13] He's not going to get killed because of you.
[00:13:16] He would potentially hypothetically get killed
[00:13:19] because someone else chose to kill him.
[00:13:22] And like, it's OK, darling, we will get you to therapy.
[00:13:27] Also at this point, Fatcom's belly becomes visible
[00:13:31] and I want I want to get in there.
[00:13:33] I want to just lay on the belly.
[00:13:36] It would be a good napspot.
[00:13:37] It is the perfect napspot.
[00:13:40] Like, oh, God, he's so hot.
[00:13:44] So hot.
[00:13:47] So anyway, back to the episode.
[00:13:49] Flashback time.
[00:13:50] We see Kirishima in middle school with black hair gasp.
[00:13:56] What? Oh, you mean he just has plain black hair?
[00:14:00] You got to be kidding me.
[00:14:03] But Kirishima, a little baby
[00:14:05] Kirishima wants to be a hero, but unfortunately
[00:14:08] he has this thing where he freezes up whenever someone needs his help.
[00:14:12] And Mina goes to the same school
[00:14:15] and he admires her bravery because she never fails to step in when she is needed.
[00:14:21] And then he starts berating himself for his cowardice, quote unquote.
[00:14:24] Yeah, because he is a silly little dumb dumb whose brain isn't going
[00:14:30] in the proper pathways. We'll get to it.
[00:14:33] Also, one of the kids who's like one of Kiri's little friends,
[00:14:38] he says that being a hero these days is all about entertainment value
[00:14:42] and approval ratings. And how dare this child be so smart?
[00:14:46] Where did he go? I need he went to the business course.
[00:14:49] That's where he went.
[00:14:50] I need him to go into politics and fix it.
[00:14:54] Sir. Also, Kirishima, at one point,
[00:14:58] he's doing his little training montage.
[00:15:00] You can't just whack yourself in the head with a lead pipe and call it training.
[00:15:07] That is so much head trauma you are inflicting upon yourself.
[00:15:11] Park, Kiri is going through it.
[00:15:13] He really is.
[00:15:14] Well, apparently the freaking lead pipe training worked
[00:15:17] because didn't he get the like the second highest score like behind Katsuki?
[00:15:21] I don't remember.
[00:15:23] I'm pretty sure he did.
[00:15:25] Like he was really high up there.
[00:15:26] Hold on. Let me check.
[00:15:28] Yeah, we got to Google it.
[00:15:31] Let's see.
[00:15:32] You a and Trent's exams scores.
[00:15:38] No, not University of Arizona.
[00:15:41] No, God. Examination results.
[00:15:44] I can't read those.
[00:15:46] Somebody make them bigger.
[00:15:48] Hello. Someone locked the doors and turned the lights down.
[00:15:52] No.
[00:15:54] No.
[00:15:58] What is happening?
[00:15:59] I don't know what I did not expect this.
[00:16:03] What is going on?
[00:16:05] I just need it to be clear.
[00:16:07] OK, let's see.
[00:16:11] He did get number two.
[00:16:12] All right, I was right.
[00:16:14] Good job.
[00:16:15] Hell yeah. I don't know how I remembered that.
[00:16:19] Good job. Yeah, I remember nothing.
[00:16:21] Bacugo got zero points for rescue.
[00:16:26] Oh, yeah, no, of course.
[00:16:28] Wait, how many rescue points did he get?
[00:16:31] Kirishima, he got 39 points for villain beating, I guess,
[00:16:37] and 35 points for rescue.
[00:16:40] Oh, good boy.
[00:16:43] Oh, so proud of him.
[00:16:45] But anyway, that is the picture.
[00:16:48] And we're talking about right now.
[00:16:50] So poor, sweet baby middle school.
[00:16:54] Kirishima does not know any of this information yet,
[00:16:57] and he almost gives up on being a hero and applying to UA.
[00:17:01] But then he watches an interview with his personal hero,
[00:17:05] Crimson Riot, talking about how all heroes feel fear
[00:17:09] and they just learn how to control it
[00:17:11] because saving others is more important.
[00:17:13] Yeah, he really just a baby.
[00:17:16] He's so scared.
[00:17:17] He doesn't know anything about fight or flight or freeze
[00:17:21] or fawn or any of it because he's a child.
[00:17:24] He is. He's just a baby.
[00:17:27] Just a little baby.
[00:17:29] So thankfully. Yes, yes, he does also need a nap.
[00:17:33] Yes. So thanks to Crimson Riot being open about his,
[00:17:38] you know, personal fears and struggles.
[00:17:42] Kirishima is reinspired and he starts training
[00:17:44] and he gets into UA and he dyes his hair to make himself stand out more
[00:17:49] and to help him like embrace his new mindset.
[00:17:52] Yeah. Yeah.
[00:17:54] He's so cute.
[00:17:55] So we cut back to the present and Fat Gum is still fighting Rappa
[00:17:58] and he's rapidly losing fat with each blow.
[00:18:02] But we learn that when Fat Gum loses fat, he stores energy
[00:18:07] which he then used to like strengthen his own blows.
[00:18:11] So he's not just a shield.
[00:18:14] He's both the shield and a spear.
[00:18:16] However, he is losing fat more quickly than expected
[00:18:19] and he's having like a hard time generating that energy that he's storing.
[00:18:23] So he is still about to lose.
[00:18:25] But Kirishima, my brave, sweet, kind, perfect little boy
[00:18:30] whom I love more than life itself, steps back into the fight
[00:18:34] to shield Fat Gum from Rappa's blows so Fat Gum can recover enough
[00:18:38] to switch from defense to offense and Rappa's attacks keep breaking his body.
[00:18:44] But he keeps re-hardening over and over.
[00:18:47] Both Rappa and Fat Gum are like incredibly impressed
[00:18:50] and they should be because my son is impressive as heck.
[00:18:54] Yeah, he is.
[00:18:55] That is an amazing quirk awakening.
[00:18:57] Yes, sir.
[00:18:58] Kirishima.
[00:19:00] Kirishima even goes so far as to try to attack Rappa back.
[00:19:04] But Akiji puts his shields up again and starts taunting them.
[00:19:08] But then Fat Gum is like, nah, bitch.
[00:19:10] And he punches the shield so hard that it shatters
[00:19:14] and Rappa and Akiji go flying and they hit a wall which knocks them out
[00:19:19] and our boys win because they're amazing.
[00:19:22] Yes, yes, they did so good.
[00:19:26] Also, how dare that gum?
[00:19:28] How dare you be equally hot when you are in your perfect large
[00:19:32] round shape, perfect for napping and also equally hot
[00:19:35] when your life fell apart and you look like crap.
[00:19:39] But you also have a now perfect skittier form.
[00:19:43] Horakoshi, stop making everyone so hot.
[00:19:46] It's very confusing to those of us who are on the Aero spectrum.
[00:19:51] So no, Horakoshi only knows hot.
[00:19:54] Literally.
[00:19:55] God, he truly is just eternally sexy.
[00:19:59] God, I love him so much.
[00:20:01] So some things of note at the very beginning of the episode,
[00:20:05] the way Kirishima just so easily accepts whatever Fat Gum says.
[00:20:09] And he's just like getting super pumped all the time about everything
[00:20:13] about the mission and like weirding out his co-workers.
[00:20:16] It's everything to me.
[00:20:18] I just I love him so much.
[00:20:19] Yeah, yeah.
[00:20:20] If I was in a very normal office setting and Kirishima was my co-worker,
[00:20:26] I would hate him.
[00:20:27] I'm sorry.
[00:20:29] Too much, 8080.
[00:20:30] Too much, too much.
[00:20:33] I would make him my best friend.
[00:20:35] Oh my God, I just noticed your name on Zoom, Fern.
[00:20:39] How?
[00:20:40] Why would you do this to me?
[00:20:43] We would tell you what it is listeners, but it's far too much to explain.
[00:20:46] It's way too much.
[00:20:48] Stupid ass inside joke.
[00:20:51] Also, Mina agrees to keep Kirishima's dyed hair a secret.
[00:20:55] And I just think that's so adorable.
[00:20:58] They're so cute.
[00:20:59] They are babies.
[00:21:00] Also, she's only like going to keep it a secret.
[00:21:06] Like until he gets the stick out of his butt and stops being so like
[00:21:11] angsty about everything.
[00:21:12] And then and then she's going to reveal it because obviously by that point
[00:21:16] he will have made friends.
[00:21:18] They are the most adorable friends, your honor.
[00:21:21] Also, yes, I do understand and appreciate their ship.
[00:21:24] It's not a bad ship.
[00:21:25] It's just incorrect.
[00:21:28] Because it's just it's not for us.
[00:21:30] Yes, yes.
[00:21:32] It's like also Kiribaku is right there and also Kiri with all the other members
[00:21:37] of the BBB squad like Choteau is right there.
[00:21:41] Come on, she always right there.
[00:21:43] Wake up, she bull.
[00:21:47] To be fair, Kiri is shippable with so many characters.
[00:21:51] Oh, yes, yes.
[00:21:53] Literally all of them.
[00:21:54] But being teasing him is so was freaking adorable.
[00:21:59] It was so cute.
[00:22:00] I do love their dynamic.
[00:22:01] They're great.
[00:22:02] Also, Facon believes in Kirishima like just as wholeheartedly
[00:22:07] as he believes in Tamaki.
[00:22:08] And I just I really love that for them both.
[00:22:11] Like they really did end up with the best possible mentor for them.
[00:22:15] Like that matchup is perfect.
[00:22:18] He is such a great mentor with his happy go lucky demeanor.
[00:22:21] Mm hmm.
[00:22:22] They both really need it.
[00:22:25] Also, I can't remember exactly when this comes up, but at some point
[00:22:29] we learn that in this universe you can just dye your hair any color,
[00:22:33] literally any color with just like daily shampoo, like no bleach,
[00:22:38] none of that, nothing.
[00:22:39] And oh, I would kill for that.
[00:22:41] I mean, you can kind of do it now.
[00:22:44] Overton is the shit.
[00:22:45] Shampoo.
[00:22:46] Yeah, no, overcoat.
[00:22:47] Overton is not the same.
[00:22:48] I'm sorry.
[00:22:50] I mean, you can also they have now like where you can tone darker hair.
[00:22:56] Yeah, but it's like a really, really faint sheen and you can hardly see it.
[00:23:00] I liked it.
[00:23:02] I still dyed my hair because I would change my colors all the time.
[00:23:05] Yeah, it's not what I want, which is I want to go in the shower,
[00:23:10] wash my hair and come out with like perfect, technicolor hair.
[00:23:14] Yeah, you want that sci-fi hair dye?
[00:23:17] Yes, I do.
[00:23:18] I want that sci-fi hair dye so fucking bad.
[00:23:23] But yeah, that's the end of the episode.
[00:23:27] Well, it's time for Maria Science Corner and it's finally time.
[00:23:32] I think I remember a couple of episodes saying I didn't go into all of Fat
[00:23:36] Gums Quirk, but it is time.
[00:23:41] Anywho, so I feel bad about calling it a science chode.
[00:23:49] We all know Fat Gums does not have a chode.
[00:23:52] Anyway, God, no, no, no.
[00:23:54] What he has the perfect whatever down there.
[00:24:01] Anyways, so Fat Gums Quirk is based off of the storage of fat in his body.
[00:24:07] We know that he absorbs attacks, but not to this extent.
[00:24:10] We probably established last time that Fat Gums had to consume
[00:24:14] high levels of calories to maintain his current weight.
[00:24:18] Now, we see that he when he gets punched, it chips away at the barrier
[00:24:22] he has created with his weight.
[00:24:24] This means that the energy is being consumed.
[00:24:27] Now, fat particles are known to store excess energy.
[00:24:31] So given Fat Gums large size, we can safely assume that he has a lot of stored energy
[00:24:37] and to the extent that the energy has to go somewhere, which is why Fat
[00:24:41] Gums can redirect that energy into a powerful punch.
[00:24:45] Now for him to go back to his original weight, he probably is going to have
[00:24:49] to consume at least 10 times what he eats to maintain the weight.
[00:24:54] I'm sure there are probably a lot of restaurants around Fat Gums
[00:24:57] office because the owners know it's about time to be a huge payday for them.
[00:25:04] Also, he probably drags Tomahki and Krushima with him.
[00:25:08] But anyway, you know, those boys are well fed.
[00:25:10] Oh yeah.
[00:25:11] Mm hmm.
[00:25:12] As for the villains, their quirks are pretty self-explanatory.
[00:25:17] The barrier guy basically is just a form of telekinesis, which you can find
[00:25:21] what that is on the internet.
[00:25:23] I'm not going to explain it.
[00:25:25] As for the other guy, it's just punching.
[00:25:27] So yeah, that's it.
[00:25:28] He probably just has reinforced muscles that let some punch like that.
[00:25:33] I wonder if those like brass knuckles are actually a part of his body.
[00:25:36] Potentially.
[00:25:37] Like he can't take them off.
[00:25:39] Yeah.
[00:25:39] Or it's like support gear.
[00:25:41] So his fingers don't fly off or something.
[00:25:43] Could be.
[00:25:44] But still, they're brass knuckles.
[00:25:46] We did not look it up.
[00:25:49] We're not going to.
[00:25:51] All right.
[00:25:52] So that's the end of the science.
[00:25:54] I love it.
[00:25:54] Perfect.
[00:25:55] All right.
[00:25:55] And we're going to move along to the discussion topics.
[00:25:58] And we're going to start with Overhaul as a boss round two.
[00:26:02] Mm hmm.
[00:26:03] Mm hmm.
[00:26:04] So we learn a little more about Overhaul taking over the Shi'e
[00:26:08] his psyche from the former Yakuza boss and the former boss.
[00:26:12] Everyone liked because Shilverie was like his whole thing and he would
[00:26:16] like genuinely treat his people well.
[00:26:19] He was a very good boss.
[00:26:21] Yeah.
[00:26:21] However, slightly contrary to what I said last episode, the love
[00:26:26] were like kind of sensing from some of Overhauls cronies may not
[00:26:30] actually be for him.
[00:26:31] It might be for like the memory of their former boss.
[00:26:35] Um, and in actual fact, a lot of them are fed up with Overhauls.
[00:26:39] Absolute nonsense, but they are too scared of him to contradict him.
[00:26:43] However, I do still think some of my points were relevant because
[00:26:46] do what I say or die is pretty damn easy to understand compared to like
[00:26:51] everyday society, which is an absolute minefield.
[00:26:57] So it's a hellscape out here, y'all.
[00:27:00] Yeah.
[00:27:01] And it also seems like Overhaul plays favorites.
[00:27:04] Like obviously he has his eight bullets who are all just right under
[00:27:09] his boot and they love it there.
[00:27:11] They do.
[00:27:13] Like the villains he brought in, they had nothing else going for them.
[00:27:16] And then they immediately get bumped up to the top of the
[00:27:20] pecking order.
[00:27:21] Um, and then like everyone else is just disgruntled.
[00:27:25] They're like, can we please get our old boss back?
[00:27:27] We're like, that is not the fucking way this is supposed to work.
[00:27:32] Yeah.
[00:27:32] Yep.
[00:27:34] The other guys just want their boss back.
[00:27:37] They like knowing that they were going to live peacefully.
[00:27:42] They're like, what the fuck?
[00:27:44] I got into this for the health benefits and now I got to do like real crimes.
[00:27:48] Now I got to be a villain.
[00:27:49] I didn't sign up for this.
[00:27:52] I just wanted to live.
[00:27:54] Right.
[00:27:56] And not pay taxes.
[00:27:59] All right.
[00:28:00] And now we're going to talk about dear sweet dumb rude Rafa.
[00:28:05] Yeah, he's a character, but I don't know.
[00:28:08] I like him a lot and I can't precisely say why.
[00:28:12] Like maybe it's his unbridled enthusiasm.
[00:28:15] Like he's basically the same as muscular kind of in terms of like his
[00:28:21] philosophies, but he's somehow just more enjoyable, less annoying.
[00:28:26] I don't know.
[00:28:26] He's just fun as a character.
[00:28:29] Yeah.
[00:28:29] Basically, his whole thing is that he loves the fight and he loves the
[00:28:33] thrill and the adrenaline, but he doesn't actually subscribe to the
[00:28:38] supremacy nonsense that must.
[00:28:41] Yeah, that's true.
[00:28:42] He just wants a good fight.
[00:28:44] And if you die, oh, well, we had a good fight and that's what I wanted.
[00:28:49] Also, he's kind of a himbo, which helps.
[00:28:54] Definitely a himbo.
[00:28:55] Just maybe a little more on the extreme.
[00:28:58] Yeah, he just needs to go skydiving a few more times.
[00:29:01] He needs his adrenaline.
[00:29:03] All right.
[00:29:04] And moving along from Rafa, we're going to talk a little bit about the shield
[00:29:10] and the spear imagery because it is a very much recurring trope.
[00:29:13] Horco, she loves it.
[00:29:14] We love it.
[00:29:15] And we actually get kind of more information on it here.
[00:29:20] Yeah, it's a good, easy to understand metaphor for like what the characters
[00:29:24] mean when they talk about having a quote unquote versatile quirk.
[00:29:29] Like just offense or just defense isn't necessarily enough.
[00:29:34] The top heroes are the ones who can figure out how to use their quirk to do both.
[00:29:40] And the whole shield versus spear, when to save versus save to win.
[00:29:45] Like this is all the same argument, which is about like, is it better
[00:29:49] to be the shield or to be a spear?
[00:29:51] Is offense or defense better?
[00:29:53] And it's a debate we're going to be having till the end of time
[00:29:56] because it's situational and that's exactly why you need to have both.
[00:30:00] Yeah, exactly.
[00:30:01] It is like the context literally changes every time.
[00:30:05] So it's not even really an argument or a debate.
[00:30:09] It's just a concept that is going to have an infinity of outcomes.
[00:30:13] So we don't need to argue about it all the time.
[00:30:16] Fuck go.
[00:30:19] Also, I would argue he does.
[00:30:22] He does.
[00:30:22] He does.
[00:30:23] And I do too.
[00:30:24] And I'm going to argue that Kirishima is also both a shield and a spear
[00:30:28] because there's no way his hardened punches don't hurt like hell.
[00:30:32] Yeah, yeah, exactly.
[00:30:34] Exactly.
[00:30:34] But he's a little dumb because he whacked himself in the head
[00:30:38] with a lead pipe over and over in middle school.
[00:30:42] Kirishima, it would take him a little bit to realize it.
[00:30:45] But yes, that is a soul journey.
[00:30:48] But it just needs a few more seasons.
[00:30:50] He'll be fine.
[00:30:51] Maybe maybe more mean talks are needed.
[00:30:54] Yeah, mm hmm.
[00:30:55] Also, this is a new point that wasn't in here when I was in here last.
[00:30:59] Gain some weight, Kirishima.
[00:31:01] Yes, yes, I had to insert this because I realized I forgot to and it's important.
[00:31:06] Like, OK, Kirishima hardening, right?
[00:31:10] We have learned that sometimes his hardening splinters or breaks,
[00:31:13] which means that his body is breaking off.
[00:31:16] It's going to hurt less and be easier to recover from losing fat
[00:31:21] than it is losing muscle like, son, you got to put on some weight.
[00:31:26] I'm sorry. Get on that.
[00:31:28] We don't the skinny superhero form.
[00:31:31] It's not real.
[00:31:32] It's not working out for you, dude.
[00:31:35] It's incompatible with your quirk.
[00:31:36] I know you're 15 and your metabolism is probably through the roof
[00:31:40] right now, but you need to eat more.
[00:31:43] It's your food.
[00:31:44] Yeah, as mentioned before,
[00:31:47] Fatgum and Tomiki just keep handing him food and watching to make sure he eats.
[00:31:52] And it's all high protein.
[00:31:54] Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
[00:31:56] They fatgums on it.
[00:31:58] Fatgum is like, I need to teach this child better ways.
[00:32:01] Yes, we're going to get the nutritionist on his hand.
[00:32:05] Yes, yes.
[00:32:06] We're going to get this boy some carbs and some fat,
[00:32:09] along with all of the meat he likes like back at the camp
[00:32:12] when he and Denki freaked out anyway.
[00:32:15] I think meat is his favorite thing, actually, in his stats.
[00:32:19] Yeah, that probably so funny.
[00:32:21] Just deep fry the fat, Kira.
[00:32:24] She or deep fry the meat.
[00:32:25] There you go.
[00:32:26] There's your extra fat anyway.
[00:32:28] Moving along.
[00:32:30] We're still going to be talking about Kira.
[00:32:32] Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
[00:32:33] We're going to talk about fear.
[00:32:36] Like just what it is.
[00:32:38] Oh boy. Yeah.
[00:32:39] OK, y'all, this is this is my soapbox.
[00:32:42] This is me putting on my little teacher hat.
[00:32:45] We're going to be here for a minute.
[00:32:47] I apologize.
[00:32:48] Although you should also be grateful to me
[00:32:51] because this could have been so much longer.
[00:32:53] I kept going on tangents and then having to delete them.
[00:32:56] So yes.
[00:32:57] And I tried to insert funniness where I could to everyone awake.
[00:33:02] So yeah, I this is around the time where I was I was like,
[00:33:06] um, yeah, checked out.
[00:33:08] Just checked the fuck out.
[00:33:09] I don't blame you.
[00:33:11] All right.
[00:33:12] So let's just talk about emotions in general for a second
[00:33:16] because a lot of the shame that we feel around certain emotions like fear
[00:33:22] tie back to the ways we misunderstand them
[00:33:25] because I think a lot of people don't really know
[00:33:27] like what emotions are and how they work.
[00:33:29] I certainly didn't until this fucking year.
[00:33:32] I'm a 31 year old adult, y'all.
[00:33:35] They don't teach you what emotions are.
[00:33:36] They do not.
[00:33:37] So hard.
[00:33:39] Yes, so hard.
[00:33:41] So for those wondering, emotions are essentially this.
[00:33:44] A thing happens or a thing appears.
[00:33:47] Your brain notices your brain says, hey, endocrine system,
[00:33:51] do you see the shit?
[00:33:52] And your endocrine system is like, oh, shit, I do.
[00:33:55] And then it floods your body with hormones about it.
[00:33:59] And these hormones obviously produce a physical response.
[00:34:02] So for example, if you get pumped full of adrenaline,
[00:34:06] like your heart's going to start beating faster, blood's going to flow
[00:34:10] away from your heart and towards your limbs.
[00:34:13] So you suddenly feel energized, stuff like that.
[00:34:16] And then your brain notices the physical response
[00:34:19] and then interprets it based on context and prior experience.
[00:34:24] Boom, you got an emotion.
[00:34:27] And this can get a little complicated
[00:34:29] because a lot of emotions share the same
[00:34:32] hormonal and physical responses.
[00:34:34] So sometimes it can be a little difficult to figure out what you're feeling.
[00:34:38] And you might mistake a positive emotion for a negative one or vice versa.
[00:34:43] Yeah, like butterflies in your stomach around your crush.
[00:34:47] Some people enjoy them.
[00:34:48] Some people are terrified of them.
[00:34:51] Yep. Wait, that that isn't just anxiety.
[00:34:55] No, I mean, maybe in there.
[00:35:00] That's up to you.
[00:35:03] So, for example, this is why people often mistake attraction
[00:35:08] for like anger or the desire to fight because like your heart's racing,
[00:35:12] your blood's pumping.
[00:35:14] As I was saying, energy is coursing through your limbs.
[00:35:17] So obviously you want to fight this bastard
[00:35:20] because he keeps looking at you with those big green eyes and those freckles.
[00:35:24] How dare he?
[00:35:25] And for those not truly paying attention, yes, we're calling out Kotsky.
[00:35:28] Yes, yes, we are.
[00:35:31] Yep, yep, we're calling out people.
[00:35:34] And this sounds like a lot, but all of this happens pretty much instantaneously.
[00:35:40] And a lot of it is completely unconscious.
[00:35:42] So by the time you're aware of what's happening, it's already happened.
[00:35:48] So, AKA emotions themselves aren't choices.
[00:35:52] They're just your body and your brain working together to try
[00:35:56] to understand what's going on around you.
[00:35:58] Yes.
[00:35:59] And I am talking specifically to Kirishima when I say this,
[00:36:03] but also listeners, you might enjoy it.
[00:36:05] Every emotion is valid, even fear, unfortunately.
[00:36:10] And like feeling one thing when you think you should be feeling another,
[00:36:15] even assuming you're correctly identifying the emotion.
[00:36:20] It doesn't mean you're a bad person or unworthy, Kirishima.
[00:36:24] It just means that you have hormones and a body that the hormones are in.
[00:36:29] Literally all it means.
[00:36:31] Yep.
[00:36:32] So let's talk about response because the point of all this emotions bullshit
[00:36:36] is to trigger some sort of response so you don't die.
[00:36:41] Like your emotions are there to keep you alive, not to keep you happy,
[00:36:44] just to keep you alive.
[00:36:47] Although I want to be happy.
[00:36:49] Yes, big happy would be nice brain.
[00:36:52] It would be nice.
[00:36:53] Yeah.
[00:36:53] So for example, like fight, flight or freeze.
[00:36:57] That's that's the whole point of all of this.
[00:37:00] And so this is where choice both does and doesn't come in because again,
[00:37:06] it's complicated.
[00:37:08] So depending on the situation, you might have time to process your emotions
[00:37:13] like consciously and then like actively choose how to respond.
[00:37:17] Or you might not like if something happens very quickly or suddenly
[00:37:23] or if the situation or your emotional response is like super intense.
[00:37:28] You might react unconsciously and do something you didn't mean to do
[00:37:33] or didn't want to do.
[00:37:34] And this really, really freaks us humans out.
[00:37:38] Like in general, we don't like we don't like not having control
[00:37:44] and we don't like not taking action.
[00:37:47] Like we're not wired for it.
[00:37:50] And then if you grew up in a culture that like over emphasizes self control
[00:37:55] and personal action, obviously this is going to freak you out even more.
[00:38:00] Yes, this is why we're all fucked up in America.
[00:38:03] Yeah, for various other reasons too.
[00:38:06] Yes, this is just one of the bigger ones.
[00:38:09] It's just the tip of the iceberg.
[00:38:10] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:38:12] So a lot of like really intense or fast paced situations.
[00:38:16] They can't be processed in the moment.
[00:38:19] Everything is happening too quickly.
[00:38:20] So your brain has to like process and interpret it after the situation ends.
[00:38:26] And your interpretation is going to be biased towards whatever you can accept
[00:38:30] most easily, which doesn't necessarily mean the thing that will make you feel
[00:38:35] better because self blame, although incredibly painful,
[00:38:40] gives you the illusion of control, which for some people is a hell
[00:38:45] of a lot easier to accept than the terrifying uncertainty that comes with lack of control.
[00:38:51] Yes, yes, exactly.
[00:38:53] Ditto to this.
[00:38:54] You are correct 100 percent.
[00:38:57] Learning that you can't control everything, including yourself.
[00:39:01] It's both it does suck.
[00:39:04] I'm not going to deny it, but it can also be freeing.
[00:39:07] And yes, again, I'm still learning this at 31 fucking years old.
[00:39:13] I think I'm over the hump, but like it's hard and it sucks.
[00:39:17] You can go to therapy to learn how to do it, especially all of us Americans.
[00:39:23] We know we are fucked all the way up in the cultural department
[00:39:28] relating to all of this.
[00:39:30] Thanks, Reagan.
[00:39:32] Being narrowed, neurodivergent just adds another layer.
[00:39:35] Yes, God, I wanted to go into that tangent and it got too long.
[00:39:40] I had to just delete it entirely.
[00:39:42] Yeah, I added just a little clip at the end so it's not OK.
[00:39:47] Perfect. Yeah.
[00:39:48] Yeah, we mentioned a little bit of it.
[00:39:50] I also like tried to go on this tangent about how technically every emotion
[00:39:54] that you've ever felt or that anyone has ever felt is technically perfectly unique.
[00:39:59] But but it's also all the same.
[00:40:01] So yeah, it's all the same and it's all unique.
[00:40:04] It's it's a fucking mess.
[00:40:07] Yes, braids are silly, as you said.
[00:40:10] So many times.
[00:40:11] Yep, so if you're having trouble, this is fucking why.
[00:40:15] Yeah, yeah, go to therapy.
[00:40:17] It's fine. It'll be great.
[00:40:18] Yeah, so talking about responses, now we're going to shift to
[00:40:22] maladaptive response patterns and maladaptive just means not good.
[00:40:29] Yes, basically.
[00:40:32] So like I mentioned before, prior experience will factor into both
[00:40:39] how you experience your emotions and how you respond to those emotions
[00:40:44] because your brain learns from the past.
[00:40:46] And unfortunately, sometimes it learns the wrong fucking lesson
[00:40:49] often, yeah, and it doesn't know what's wrong because it's the brain
[00:40:53] and it's done.
[00:40:55] Yeah, your brain has an incredibly low bar for success.
[00:41:00] Basically, if your response doesn't cause your immediate death,
[00:41:04] your brain is like, OK, cool, that worked.
[00:41:06] So we're going to do that next time, too.
[00:41:09] No brain, please.
[00:41:11] Brains are so dumb so often and yet they're so good at their job.
[00:41:16] Like, sir, ma'am, they think they're so they're trying so hard.
[00:41:22] They're trying so hard.
[00:41:24] And then so the more you default to that response that your brain has
[00:41:29] decided is the correct one, the harder it is to change because now
[00:41:33] it's a habit and even if the response like maybe used to help you in the past
[00:41:39] and then stops helping you and needs to be changed, your brain is still
[00:41:43] going to keep defaulting to that because that's that's what it knows.
[00:41:47] Those those neural pathways we were talking about, those have been built
[00:41:52] and you have to tear them down and then rebuild them correctly.
[00:41:56] And it's a whole thing.
[00:41:57] Yes.
[00:41:58] My my therapist gave me like a visual metaphor.
[00:42:01] So essentially your your response patterns, they're they make your neural pathways
[00:42:08] essentially deeper and deeper footpaths through whatever medium you want,
[00:42:13] grass, dirt, whatever it is.
[00:42:15] And if you want to change that, you have to like go off that path
[00:42:19] literally and start building another path.
[00:42:22] And it's very hard.
[00:42:23] But yeah, literally, that's that's all neural pathways are.
[00:42:27] And our brains are dumb, but also good at their jobs.
[00:42:29] But also they are very dumb.
[00:42:32] So dumb. Oh, God.
[00:42:33] But yeah, speaking of changing your responses.
[00:42:37] So a lot of people when they're first trying, when they first notice
[00:42:41] these negative patterns that are hurting them, they will get confused
[00:42:46] and they will think that the emotion is the problem, partly because,
[00:42:49] you know, a lot of times the time between your emotion
[00:42:52] and your reaction is like teeny tiny, like it feels instant.
[00:42:56] So they feel like the same thing.
[00:42:58] And then some of it is also a little bit of false pattern recognition
[00:43:02] because your brain is like, oh, this emotion was present all the times
[00:43:06] I did that bad thing.
[00:43:07] So the emotion must be the issue, right?
[00:43:12] Your emotions aren't the problem.
[00:43:14] It's your maladaptive response pattern.
[00:43:18] Your hormones are the problem Reagan is.
[00:43:22] OK, not really, but also yes.
[00:43:23] Yes, he is. Yeah, he's always the problem.
[00:43:26] Always. He caused so many of our responses.
[00:43:30] So many.
[00:43:32] You made the world hard for a narrow day,
[00:43:34] Virgin folks, harder for us to exist.
[00:43:37] But also that's capitalism.
[00:43:39] Get the hell and stab him a few times.
[00:43:40] Yes. Oh, he's at the top of my stabbing list.
[00:43:43] Oh, yeah. Yeah.
[00:43:46] But yeah. So, you know, a lot of people, they notice these patterns
[00:43:50] and then they feel stuck and like there's nothing you can do to help
[00:43:53] yourself because that habit is just like so ingrained.
[00:43:57] The pathway is so deep.
[00:43:58] Yeah, the pathway is so deep.
[00:44:00] All of this happens so fast.
[00:44:02] You just you can't catch your breath and like slow down for a second.
[00:44:07] But there are things you can do to like slow down your response time
[00:44:12] and give yourself just a tiny little moment to process what's happening
[00:44:17] and then actively choose how to respond, even if you're in,
[00:44:21] you know, another incredibly intense and fast paced situation.
[00:44:25] And this is basically the point of cognitive behavioral therapy.
[00:44:29] Yeah, which I can attest.
[00:44:31] It works as much as it's very annoying to admit that mindfulness and
[00:44:37] gratefulness and like all the woo woo seeming techniques.
[00:44:41] Like, yes, I thought that it was all woo woo in nonsense.
[00:44:44] But like, yes, it does actually help your dumb little brain
[00:44:49] change your footpaths in your brain and therefore you as a person.
[00:44:53] And it works and I hate it, but do it.
[00:44:57] Yeah, so if you've got like, if you've got like some sort of problem
[00:45:01] that like stems from your own actions, then or like your own patterns,
[00:45:05] then CBT is probably a good way to address that.
[00:45:11] You can also you can also hate it as you're doing it.
[00:45:14] Like that's a lot.
[00:45:15] Oh yeah. Oh yeah. It's so fucking annoying.
[00:45:18] It's so annoying.
[00:45:20] You can be pissed and still do the thing.
[00:45:22] You can angrily, angrily journal.
[00:45:25] That's it. Yeah.
[00:45:27] So tying this all back to the episode,
[00:45:30] I'm basically this is what's happening with Kirishima's realization.
[00:45:35] He had to learn this exact lesson.
[00:45:37] Like he basically CBT'd himself by accident.
[00:45:41] Lucky bitch.
[00:45:43] Because at first he was like, oh, fear makes me freeze up.
[00:45:46] Therefore fear is bad and I am bad because I feel fear
[00:45:50] and the people whose bodies move on their own, quote unquote.
[00:45:54] Those are the good people.
[00:45:55] And if I can't choose to be like that, then I am useless.
[00:45:59] No, no, honey.
[00:46:00] Sweet darling, no.
[00:46:02] Then Crimson Riot, thank God, comes along was like, yeah,
[00:46:07] I feel fear.
[00:46:08] Everyone does.
[00:46:09] But sometimes something else matters more.
[00:46:12] And that's what gives you the motivation to do the thing.
[00:46:15] And Kirishima's sweet little baby's brain basically explodes.
[00:46:20] Yeah, you went galaxy range.
[00:46:22] Yes, he really did.
[00:46:23] And so he pivots to, OK, yeah, fear does make me freeze up sometimes.
[00:46:29] But if I can figure out how to unfreeze myself whenever that happens,
[00:46:34] then I can still do the thing I want to do, which is save people.
[00:46:38] And then in this moment, he finds a motivation,
[00:46:41] which is protect or help fat gum that is strong enough to override his fear,
[00:46:46] thus breaking himself out of his maladaptive response pattern,
[00:46:50] which will make it easier for him to break it again in the future.
[00:46:53] Because great news.
[00:46:54] It also works the opposite way.
[00:46:56] Once you actually start breaking that pattern,
[00:46:59] it becomes easier and easier to break over time.
[00:47:02] Yes, the footpath becomes easier to walk each time.
[00:47:06] Yeah, it's still a footpath.
[00:47:07] They work the exact same way.
[00:47:09] Yep. Yep. And it's still fucking annoying, but it works.
[00:47:12] You got this. All right.
[00:47:14] Yeah, basically, he just overrides his triggers and all his old responses.
[00:47:19] And he does the thing by CBT himself.
[00:47:22] And I hate him. And also, I love him.
[00:47:26] He should be as close as wild.
[00:47:28] This is why adults should be more upfront about their flaws,
[00:47:32] because children need they need to hear that.
[00:47:37] Yes. Yes.
[00:47:38] Yep. Hiroshima and Crimson Riot,
[00:47:41] they just need a poster in every therapist's office.
[00:47:45] Like CBT, this is how it works.
[00:47:47] It was a cartoon. You can understand it because it's a cartoon.
[00:47:51] All right. And again, I mentioned it before.
[00:47:53] I'm going to add a fun little dollop to all of this and talk a tiny bit
[00:47:58] about how similar and different this is for
[00:48:01] neurodivergencies like ADHD and autism,
[00:48:05] because I've had to incorporate some of these.
[00:48:07] Again, I'm not a doctor.
[00:48:09] Do whatever you need to do.
[00:48:11] It's just what helps me like picture it and do it.
[00:48:14] So basically for folks, you have a variety of neurodivergencies
[00:48:20] or neuro atypicalities, however you want to phrase it,
[00:48:22] whatever disorder or syndrome that you have.
[00:48:26] It comes with this fun little experience
[00:48:30] called delayed emotional reactions.
[00:48:33] And therefore you essentially are delayed
[00:48:37] in processing those emotions.
[00:48:39] So if you actually find that your emotions seem to be harder
[00:48:43] to untangle and it takes you a really long time
[00:48:46] to actually figure out how you're feeling compared
[00:48:50] to how it looks for other folks,
[00:48:53] I lost my spot. Where am I?
[00:48:56] If it seems to take you longer to figure out how you're feeling
[00:48:59] and then even more time to figure out
[00:49:02] how you're actually supposed to respond, it's also normal.
[00:49:06] It's also a valid brain thing.
[00:49:08] And it applies to like even if you're neurotypical,
[00:49:12] but if you've been taught to suppress emotions.
[00:49:15] Yes, that too.
[00:49:17] And also some peoples like endocrine systems
[00:49:21] work differently than others.
[00:49:22] Some are more active than others.
[00:49:24] And that's just that's just how it is.
[00:49:26] It's just your body. It exists.
[00:49:28] Yeah, it exists.
[00:49:29] There it's not it's not bad or wrong.
[00:49:32] It's just a body.
[00:49:33] So if you find yourself looking up all these techniques
[00:49:36] and they never seem to work for you,
[00:49:38] delayed emotional responses, it's a thing.
[00:49:41] It's very much a thing.
[00:49:43] So that's how you can kind of tweak the version of CBT
[00:49:47] you may or may not be using, obviously,
[00:49:50] as well as other therapy techniques
[00:49:52] that are specifically tuned to delayed emotional reactions
[00:49:56] and processing because it's kind of two different things
[00:50:00] working at the same time again, somehow instantaneously,
[00:50:03] even though it is still delayed.
[00:50:05] The brains are dumb.
[00:50:07] And it's like you can go over all of them with your therapist
[00:50:11] after you give them the curishima and crimson riot poster,
[00:50:14] because obviously that is going to be key
[00:50:17] in their practice going forward.
[00:50:18] Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Clearly.
[00:50:20] Yes. So talk to your therapist about it.
[00:50:23] Talk to whatever trained medical professional
[00:50:25] you need to talk to again.
[00:50:26] I'm not a doctor.
[00:50:27] I'm just saying things are hard.
[00:50:29] And if you're like curishima with his ADD brain,
[00:50:33] it's probably a little harder than it was for all his other friends
[00:50:36] or not all of them, but like a lot of his friends at school
[00:50:38] who don't have the ADD or ADHD.
[00:50:41] It kind of all comes back.
[00:50:43] Don't ask Nezu for it, though.
[00:50:45] Nezu sucks.
[00:50:46] And he needs to put Izawa in charge of it
[00:50:49] because Izawa knows all of this and Nezu is.
[00:50:52] No, Izawa is still in the hole.
[00:50:54] If I just pretend I don't have emotions, everything will be fine.
[00:50:57] Phase.
[00:50:58] I guess.
[00:51:00] But still, he's he's got more of a handle on it than Nezu.
[00:51:04] I did. He does.
[00:51:05] Man, he said he was bringing in counselors and he did not.
[00:51:08] How did? Anyway, is that everything?
[00:51:10] Is that what we want to talk about?
[00:51:13] Yes, I am stepping off of my soapbox.
[00:51:16] Thank you. That was that was a lot.
[00:51:18] I yeah, well, I started like getting sleepy, just listening to you.
[00:51:23] Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
[00:51:25] Yeah, my bad. It couldn't be helped.
[00:51:27] It was perfect.
[00:51:28] But like, yeah, I was like, you were on my boobs and it was warm.
[00:51:36] All right. So folks, tune back in if you happened to tune back out
[00:51:40] and not listen to Fern's perfect speech and explanation of things.
[00:51:44] We're going to move right into monkey differences,
[00:51:46] of which there were actually a lot this this episode, starting with one forty two.
[00:51:51] They actually took out a line where Tomiki asks,
[00:51:56] why is the floor so close to my face passes out?
[00:51:59] And why did they take that out? How dare they?
[00:52:02] Oh, my sweet boy.
[00:52:05] He's like, why floor here?
[00:52:08] I love that, though, when your brain, like when you don't really process
[00:52:11] what's happening and you're just like, huh?
[00:52:14] Why is the little William here?
[00:52:17] And then OK, it is a little clearer
[00:52:20] that the Yakuza member, like with the eyebrows
[00:52:24] who did most of the talking with Bubble Girl,
[00:52:26] he does actually blame Chizuki for their boss's current condition.
[00:52:32] Like it's a little clearer that he fully suspects
[00:52:35] Chizuki had something to do with the boss's illness.
[00:52:38] And I bet they're just they're going to make him testify against Chizuki.
[00:52:43] And he's going to be like, yes, yes, anything you need.
[00:52:46] I'm going to murder him in the courtroom.
[00:52:50] That's the morning. Oh, yeah.
[00:52:51] Bubble Girl is already like, oh, I bet we can flip this one if we give him a deal.
[00:52:55] Yeah, I'm going to write this on my clipboard.
[00:52:58] All right. And then when Fatgum pushes Izawa out of the way
[00:53:02] when he was having his little damsel moment,
[00:53:05] he actually thanks Fatgum in the manga instead of telling him
[00:53:09] to be careful, which is I feel a much better representation of their relationship.
[00:53:15] Also, in this same scene, Fatgum calls Kirishima a baby chick
[00:53:20] when he finds him under his belly and the egg metaphors just continue everywhere.
[00:53:26] I love this.
[00:53:26] I love it so much that everyone looks at class one A and goes, baby, baby, egg,
[00:53:32] child, chick must protect.
[00:53:36] Even one of them is an actual chicken.
[00:53:38] Yeah. Yeah.
[00:53:41] Also, while while Kirishima is having all his little flashbacks,
[00:53:45] one of his flashbacks is literally to when Bakugo is actually complimenting him
[00:53:50] about being able to stand firm and hard through anything and everything.
[00:53:55] Like that is his strength.
[00:53:57] And why did they take that out?
[00:53:59] Why did they not include that?
[00:54:00] That is a lot of time.
[00:54:02] I do always enough time.
[00:54:04] There's always enough time for Kiri Bakugo.
[00:54:07] There was a lot going on, OK?
[00:54:08] Give the animators some chance.
[00:54:11] No.
[00:54:13] We're kidding. Animators, we love you.
[00:54:15] Yes, you're doing great.
[00:54:17] We are just perfectionists and we want everything all the time all at once
[00:54:21] because we're Americans. It's fine. I'm fine.
[00:54:24] Right. And then if it wasn't obvious, the force field guy is a Buddhist.
[00:54:29] That that that's it.
[00:54:30] Yeah. And then for chapter 143, they reordered the scenes.
[00:54:35] So Kirishima's flashbacks actually come after
[00:54:39] Fatcom is preparing his punch to like counter against Rapa
[00:54:46] and like basically after Kirishima gets hit again.
[00:54:49] It's also much bloodier scene in the manga, like there's literally blood flying everywhere.
[00:54:53] So oh yeah, the manga are much darker than the the anime.
[00:54:59] Yeah. Yeah.
[00:55:00] There's also a Fatcom blurb at the end of this chapter
[00:55:04] that tells us that his hero costume is literally just a stretchy hoodie
[00:55:08] and a mask. And also he's a little unsure of himself.
[00:55:11] And I love him.
[00:55:13] I love him so much.
[00:55:15] Fatcom, I would be so good to you.
[00:55:16] You don't understand. So good. Yes.
[00:55:19] He has a little bit of an imposterage.
[00:55:21] She's a center. He does.
[00:55:23] Oh, and that's probably why he supports his baby so much.
[00:55:27] I love him. Why isn't he real?
[00:55:30] I know God, this kills me every day.
[00:55:33] All right. And then for chapter 144,
[00:55:36] the manga states that the like the little bear kid being bullied,
[00:55:41] he has a quirk that can change things into other things.
[00:55:45] It's not just how he can turn leaves into money,
[00:55:48] but it does still wear off quickly no matter what it is.
[00:55:51] So yeah, he's a Tanuki.
[00:55:53] Yeah. Yeah.
[00:55:54] And we all know Tanuki is like money.
[00:55:57] Nook. Sure. Nook.
[00:56:00] We all know.
[00:56:01] Fucking nook.
[00:56:03] No idea what's going on.
[00:56:04] Animal Crossing.
[00:56:05] OK, Tom Nook takes all the money.
[00:56:08] Yeah, your land.
[00:56:09] An elastic bully.
[00:56:11] Yeah.
[00:56:12] Over the island. Awesome.
[00:56:14] Yeah.
[00:56:15] Also, one of the bullies to the sweet little Tanuki kid.
[00:56:19] He's definitely just an earthbender down
[00:56:23] to the way he moves his arms to manipulate the rock.
[00:56:25] It's very tough. Mm hmm.
[00:56:28] All right. And then in the manga,
[00:56:30] Mina gives Gigantomakia random directions.
[00:56:35] But in the anime, it was actually changed to her giving him directions
[00:56:38] to the police station, which I think was very smart.
[00:56:42] Yeah, I am a little confused about that because, like,
[00:56:45] I think we were supposed to interpret Gigantomakia as like harassing people.
[00:56:51] But he I just interpreted it as him being very large and asking for directions.
[00:56:57] Yeah, I actually have a note on that in the Easter eggs.
[00:57:00] Oh, OK. Never mind. Yeah.
[00:57:02] It's a whole thing.
[00:57:03] And then finally, Kiri's hero costume gets a blurb at the end of this chapter
[00:57:09] and his silly little headgear.
[00:57:11] It's actually designed to protect his nose and his chin,
[00:57:15] which are his weak points.
[00:57:17] And also he has sleeves, not a shirt.
[00:57:20] He has sleeves because he does worry that his hardened skin
[00:57:25] will hurt any victims that he has to carry while he's being hardened.
[00:57:31] But the shoulder gears and the tattered waist cape, those are just aesthetics.
[00:57:36] I love him so much.
[00:57:39] Such an idiot.
[00:57:40] He really thought about it.
[00:57:41] He's like, I don't want to.
[00:57:43] Well, he got back to the time where he cut his face.
[00:57:46] Oh, and I love that he specifically asked for a tattered cape.
[00:57:53] Yes. Yeah.
[00:57:54] If he's going to get torn up, you might as well go in torn up and like, sure.
[00:58:00] But also the aesthetic.
[00:58:01] He's such an emo.
[00:58:03] Yeah, little emo kid.
[00:58:04] God, I love him.
[00:58:06] And then for your chapter one forty five,
[00:58:08] Crimson Ride actually swears in the manga during his television interview.
[00:58:13] And the dialogue is just beep because they've peeped it out.
[00:58:16] It's hilarious.
[00:58:18] All right.
[00:58:19] And Mina and Kiri's conversation on the first day of high school,
[00:58:23] it makes much more sense in the dub.
[00:58:25] The translation they used in the manga was much better than what how it was in the dub.
[00:58:33] They could have just used the full conversation.
[00:58:36] Like I will never know why they make these incorrect changes.
[00:58:40] Who knows who even knows?
[00:58:42] All right.
[00:58:42] And then we do have a bunch of Easter eggs.
[00:58:45] So let's get started.
[00:58:46] God, that's a lot.
[00:58:47] Why didn't y'all stop me?
[00:58:50] I didn't even look at this to be honest.
[00:58:51] I was I went through it.
[00:58:55] I was like, this is too much.
[00:58:56] I am mentally logging off.
[00:59:00] Well, the like one or two listeners that are in it for the Easter eggs.
[00:59:05] This is all of our ADHD listeners left as soon as I started talking about emotions,
[00:59:10] which sucks because they were the ones that needed to hear it.
[00:59:12] But they're OK.
[00:59:14] Don't listen to it eventually.
[00:59:16] All right.
[00:59:17] So for Easter eggs, Rapa does actually make an appearance
[00:59:21] in the vigilante spin off and it was from before he joins the Hussack High.
[00:59:25] So that's fun.
[00:59:26] I keep forgetting there, supposedly adapting that as well to an anime.
[00:59:31] That'll be interesting.
[00:59:32] Yeah, if it gets done at all.
[00:59:34] Yeah. Also, we've now got two kendo's.
[00:59:38] Technically, one is first name Kendo, one is surname Kendo, but I digress.
[00:59:43] Oh, yeah.
[00:59:44] God.
[00:59:46] And they both have essentially super powered hands, which is interesting.
[00:59:51] They do. I love that.
[00:59:53] All right. And the little bear kid again, Tanuki, which I did not put together.
[00:59:57] Thank you, Maria.
[00:59:58] You're welcome.
[00:59:59] He in the anime specifically, he can turn leaves into money, but it does wear off.
[01:00:05] And I made the connections to fairy money from Western folklore.
[01:00:12] They can literally turn leaves into money and it wears off quickly.
[01:00:16] Like that's like an actual trope of the folklore.
[01:00:19] And maybe also the Chinese money tree.
[01:00:22] But Tanuki, obviously makes far more sense.
[01:00:24] Yeah. And there's a lot of Tanuki lore.
[01:00:27] It's really interesting if you look at it.
[01:00:29] Yeah, for sure.
[01:00:30] I just did not make the connection because I don't know why.
[01:00:35] I have seen so much Japanese anime that I just immediately I was like,
[01:00:40] that is a Tanuki Horakoshi ICU.
[01:00:43] Yeah. Yeah.
[01:00:44] Not even, not even trying to hide it, sir.
[01:00:49] All right.
[01:00:50] Here, here and Mina's middle school is called Mustafa
[01:00:53] and Kiri's friend is going to droid tech and Horakoshi.
[01:00:57] Please enough with the wars of the stars.
[01:01:00] I heard some of the stars.
[01:01:03] He's not as good.
[01:01:05] Oh, Horakoshi, calm down.
[01:01:06] OK, so here he is.
[01:01:10] Here he was actually inspired by the sludge villain incident.
[01:01:14] Like that's a whole thing.
[01:01:15] We've already established it.
[01:01:16] And then, oh, yeah.
[01:01:17] I don't want to be that kind of slime person.
[01:01:19] Right. No, that's no, we don't do that.
[01:01:22] We just want to be slim.
[01:01:23] Mm hmm.
[01:01:24] And then like combining that with the fact that Kiri and Mina
[01:01:28] face Jigantamakia before we know who Jigantamakia is.
[01:01:33] So many threads so well tied together.
[01:01:36] Horakoshi, go to bed and stop watching Star Wars.
[01:01:39] No, that's his relaxation time.
[01:01:42] I don't care.
[01:01:42] I need him to stop.
[01:01:44] I fully expect him to have like a Death Star Lego.
[01:01:49] Oh, for sure. Oh, absolutely.
[01:01:51] That was one of the first things he bought with his manga money.
[01:01:55] All right.
[01:01:56] And then Crimson Riot,
[01:01:59] he says at one point that he aims to lead a life with no regrets
[01:02:03] like he specifically says that.
[01:02:05] So I feel like he is also one of Mirko's idols.
[01:02:09] Oh, yeah.
[01:02:09] We haven't met Mirko yet in the story,
[01:02:12] but we know who Mirko is.
[01:02:14] And I also hope that Kiri gets to intern with Mirko at some point.
[01:02:19] Oh, my God.
[01:02:20] Other unstoppable chaos together.
[01:02:23] It'll be great.
[01:02:23] And they. Oh, my God.
[01:02:26] They would have such a good time.
[01:02:27] She would adore him.
[01:02:29] He would idolize her like, oh, my God.
[01:02:32] They beat up everybody.
[01:02:34] Everybody would be insane.
[01:02:35] Just utter chaos and Patsuki just chasing after them being like,
[01:02:40] clean up your shit.
[01:02:41] Yeah, literally, literally.
[01:02:42] And also I have not.
[01:02:44] I still have not read all of like the school briefs and the
[01:02:48] and the spinoffs and all the other little chapters.
[01:02:51] So this may have already happened,
[01:02:53] but also it needs to be in the main story.
[01:02:57] All right.
[01:02:57] And then Mina and Kiri were actually sitting next to each other
[01:03:01] at the UA orientation, just like Izuku and Bakugou were.
[01:03:05] So I bet there were assigned seats by school
[01:03:09] because we forget that they are, in fact, just riotous little
[01:03:13] high school freshmen and they're not like in college or able to make decisions
[01:03:18] for themselves. So I feel like they did, in fact, have assigned seating
[01:03:22] by their middle schools.
[01:03:23] Yeah. At the very least, it would just make it a little quicker
[01:03:26] to get everyone seated in like that large of a space.
[01:03:30] Yeah, for sure.
[01:03:31] Be like, here's an email with your assigned seat.
[01:03:33] This is where it is.
[01:03:34] Here's a map.
[01:03:35] Just go in there and sit the fuck down.
[01:03:37] Sit down with your with your appropriate ticket number, sir.
[01:03:41] Bakugou.
[01:03:43] All right. And then next,
[01:03:45] Fatcom's Quirk, I feel like is a lot like the Vibranium suits
[01:03:49] and the Black Panther movies, which absorb they absorb kinetic
[01:03:54] energy to then output it at will.
[01:03:56] He just uses his fat instead of Vibranium.
[01:03:59] Yeah, yeah, that's literally exactly it.
[01:04:01] Yeah. Yep.
[01:04:02] All right. And then my last non-spoilery Easter egg
[01:04:07] again, it's about Gigantamakia.
[01:04:09] And I went down a whole rabbit hole in the wiki.
[01:04:14] I found myself on a wiki page for a fan project
[01:04:18] that I thought was real and I was very confused until I actually read it.
[01:04:23] Anyway, I'm sure this Ringer Hero Agency means something
[01:04:28] to Gigantamakia because that's what he was looking for.
[01:04:31] And therefore his boss like it meant something to him.
[01:04:36] But there's nothing.
[01:04:37] There's really nothing in the fan wiki indicating
[01:04:40] like who they were looking for or what even Gigantamakia wanted
[01:04:45] with that specific agency.
[01:04:47] But I did find myself on Reddit and Reddit user.
[01:04:53] Sugar or kill. Love it.
[01:04:56] I can't. I can't.
[01:04:57] That's that's really clever. I like that.
[01:05:01] They posted four years ago because again,
[01:05:03] the the anime is actually kind of old.
[01:05:06] We're kind of a few years behind.
[01:05:07] Kind of. Yeah.
[01:05:10] They posted four years ago theorizing that Gigantamakia
[01:05:13] may have been looking to collect the hero at this
[01:05:17] either the hero or a hero at the Springer Hero Agency
[01:05:22] for the Evil Doctors Experiments.
[01:05:24] And I can't even remember if we know who the Evil Doctor is
[01:05:28] at this point in the non-spoilery parts of these episodes.
[01:05:32] So I'm going to leave it at that.
[01:05:33] That's probably why he was looking for a hero agency.
[01:05:36] Probably, yeah, yeah.
[01:05:38] But like everyone on the street wouldn't know that.
[01:05:41] I don't know. I just feel like they were just like,
[01:05:44] oh, he's harassing people, but he's not.
[01:05:46] He's just very large and freaky looking.
[01:05:48] Yes, yes, yes.
[01:05:50] We need more information on it.
[01:05:51] But I think we do get it eventually when it comes back around.
[01:05:54] Yeah, maybe. We'll see.
[01:05:56] We'll see. I forget.
[01:05:57] I mean, not that I blame those girls for being scared, but like.
[01:06:00] Homeboy was raiding concrete on their heads.
[01:06:03] Calm down. Was he? Yeah.
[01:06:05] Oh, good Lord.
[01:06:07] I don't remember that part.
[01:06:08] Yeah, because he was holding onto the wall and it started crumbling.
[01:06:12] Oh, OK, yeah.
[01:06:14] Yeah, that would probably constitute as harassment intentional or not.
[01:06:18] Yeah, yeah. That's that's putting someone in danger.
[01:06:21] Yeah, yeah. Make sense.
[01:06:22] OK, never mind. Naughty boy.
[01:06:24] All right. And now we are going to move on to the big spoiler section.
[01:06:27] There's not much there, but if you don't want to be spoiled for stuff
[01:06:30] that has yet to be animated by we love you.
[01:06:34] We hope you stuck around after Fern's wonderful speech.
[01:06:39] After my incessant nattering. Yeah.
[01:06:41] It was perfect. Shut up.
[01:06:43] We're going to start.
[01:06:44] There's only two.
[01:06:45] So first, Comiqi immediately passing out after getting supremely
[01:06:51] injured and saying that he needs to catch up to Muriel.
[01:06:54] Mm hmm. Mm hmm.
[01:06:56] It's just Bakudeco. It's just it was just the dry run.
[01:06:59] It was like it literally everyone in the franchise is just a paler version
[01:07:04] of Bakudeco. Yeah, yeah.
[01:07:06] They've infected everyone with their nonsense.
[01:07:09] Oh, my poor sweet Bakugal.
[01:07:12] Well, nonsense.
[01:07:13] Yeah. Remember when Bakugal was dead for over a year?
[01:07:17] That was fun.
[01:07:22] Oh, that was a great time for me.
[01:07:24] I'm sure it was.
[01:07:25] It was a great time for me.
[01:07:27] Oh, man. Yeah.
[01:07:29] Yeah. I enjoyed the panic.
[01:07:31] I still enjoy the panic actually.
[01:07:33] Yeah. Poor child. You do.
[01:07:35] All right. And also, I do know that this last point is in fact
[01:07:39] literally just a coincidence of timing, but seeing the all you can eat
[01:07:44] villain right after we read chapter four, 18.
[01:07:50] Horakoshi, your cannibalism, you stop that,
[01:07:54] but also don't stop that.
[01:07:55] It's great, but also, sir, are you OK?
[01:07:59] He has thoughts about consumption,
[01:08:02] consumption as a premise.
[01:08:03] Yeah, he likes cannibalism.
[01:08:05] He does. He does. He does.
[01:08:07] And obviously it is a good trope and theme to explore.
[01:08:12] Oh, yeah, it works on so many levels, many levels.
[01:08:15] I was trying to explain how
[01:08:18] Tick Tock recently had like a mini trend about pomegranates
[01:08:24] and cannibalism as metaphors for like romance and religion
[01:08:29] and all this stuff to one of my coworkers.
[01:08:31] And she just looked at me like, what the fuck are you talking about?
[01:08:36] I love this.
[01:08:37] I love that you just terrorize your coworkers.
[01:08:40] They deserve it.
[01:08:40] And they need a random fact about cannibalism.
[01:08:43] So when they're trying to recuperate cannibalists,
[01:08:46] they give them spam because it's the closest.
[01:08:48] Yes, they do.
[01:08:53] I do genuinely love spam.
[01:08:54] That shit is delicious.
[01:08:55] You spam the sous vide is delicious.
[01:08:58] I need some fried spam like right now.
[01:09:00] Go to the store.
[01:09:01] I'm so hungry.
[01:09:02] We need to wrap this up.
[01:09:04] Get your cannibalism nicotine patched.
[01:09:09] All right.
[01:09:09] So for final comments,
[01:09:12] Kira Shima is perfect.
[01:09:13] We had we had a lot of thoughts and also Lance is still hot.
[01:09:18] And we'll have to go hot.
[01:09:20] Sure, sure.
[01:09:21] OK, yeah.
[01:09:21] Thank you to any listeners that are still listening.
[01:09:26] I'm fucking hungry.
[01:09:27] We've had a long one in a while.
[01:09:29] Yeah.
[01:09:29] Yeah, we really haven't.
[01:09:31] I knew I knew it was going to happen like this though.
[01:09:33] Yeah, yeah.
[01:09:34] We've known since we like outlined what we're going to do.
[01:09:39] And it was per episode and it's like, oh, it's a Kira Shima episode.
[01:09:42] We need to set aside three hours.
[01:09:44] Yeah, exactly.
[01:09:45] And I got this literally.
[01:09:46] Yeah.
[01:09:47] You're still on my boobs.
[01:09:50] It's still warm.
[01:09:51] Sure it is.
[01:09:52] I have not turned on my AC because I refuse until the weather forecast
[01:09:58] evens itself out.
[01:09:59] So I am sweating.
[01:10:01] I can't snow today up here.
[01:10:03] I hate you because I can't imagine putting my laptop on myself.
[01:10:07] Yeah, no, it was supposed to like thunderstorm and hail
[01:10:11] and tornado warnings.
[01:10:14] Yeah, and nothing.
[01:10:15] Yeah, it did all that.
[01:10:17] Like on the other side of the Appalachians and now it's going to do
[01:10:20] more of it up north as it goes up north.
[01:10:22] We kind of escaped it kind of well, but also it's so hot.
[01:10:27] I wish I could.
[01:10:27] I wish I would let myself turn on the AC, but I won't because I'm also
[01:10:31] a dad in.
[01:10:34] Just get a fan.
[01:10:36] My fans are on.
[01:10:37] They're wonderful.
[01:10:38] They're all I need, but also there's not a fan in the recording.
[01:10:41] Boo, it's just me.
[01:10:42] And you should get one of those little portable like ice.
[01:10:48] Oh, yeah.
[01:10:49] Yeah.
[01:10:50] Yeah.
[01:10:51] OK, I think I think we've babbled long enough.
[01:10:53] Is that everything for everyone else?
[01:10:55] Yes, I am finally babbled out.
[01:10:58] All right.
[01:10:59] Well, this has been my hero analysis, the Tower of Babel edition.
[01:11:03] You'll hear us again soon.
[01:11:05] And in the meantime, go beyond plus ultra first responsibly and always,
[01:11:11] always overthink zombies and cannibalism.
[01:11:14] Bye, y'all.
[01:11:15] Thanks again for listening.
[01:11:16] Theme music is the happy cowboy by Gary the canary, remixed by Fern.
