[00:01:01] notes when I was a little bit crossfaded and I got real chatty so.

[00:01:22] escape up the empty stairwell. It's fine. I did these notes in the midst of an attempted
[00:01:29] productivity spree and I'm apparently being rewarded for it by my cats being evil.
[00:01:34] Hey, it's Maria and um, I did these notes on day of recording because my spoon count
[00:01:43] has been all over the place so I'm just glad I didn't have to talk to anyone from
[00:01:48] work today because that drains my battery very quickly.
[00:01:53] Yeah, going into the office is the worst and I'm so glad I don't have to do it anymore.
[00:01:59] I like it because it gets me out of the house. There is that. But or else I would
[00:02:04] rot away. You would never rot away. You'd find something to do. You would find a
[00:02:13] lovely co-working space. Maybe you'd just go off on adventures randomly.
[00:02:19] Yeah, well it was also very nice not to get out of my bed. Yeah, bed. Bed is great.
[00:02:27] But yeah, it's been very emotionally exhausting the last couple of days but I did it.

[00:02:48] Um so I am eating okay so Harris cheater has these things. They're corn puffs and
[00:02:54] they're sour cream and onion and they are addicting because they taste like air
[00:02:58] and they're times better than um the poop the Cheetos poops like.

[00:03:15] Um so I'm eating that. I'm also eating like almond and chocolate hockey sticks and I have
[00:03:22] two uh white chocolate peppermint snowmen. That's so many tastes. And I have a coke,

[00:04:01] That's okay. Um it's this is also not news but as of today we're one month out from season seven
[00:04:09] and my sternum has not stopped vibrating since I realized that. Oh my god. I can't hate.
[00:04:16] I didn't even realize it was happening so soon. Yeah. I should get on that shouldn't I?

[00:04:32] Classic Maria. It's a comfort show what can I say?

[00:04:44] That rewatch never stops. Yeah. Yeah well I'm out of slime animes because the slime anime
[00:04:50] that I was watching this season is over so I am sad. Oh I'm sorry. I like slimes. I want to

[00:05:06] All right well this week we're covering episode eight of My Hero Academia season four,
[00:05:15] Sun Eater of the Big Three which in the manga is chapters 139 through 141 so I will lead us
[00:05:22] through a synopsis that is not quick at all. We had a lot of feelings um and then I
[00:05:27] will hand it over to Maria for her science corner and then Nicole's gonna jump in for
[00:05:32] discussion topics, manga differences, and easter eggs and then we will wrap up the
[00:05:36] episode with our big spoiler section. I feel like my science corner is more like a science
[00:05:42] room. Yeah yeah we got a nice meaty one today. Meat. A meaty meaty room. That is so weird. I
[00:05:51] don't know why I did that anyway. Getting into the synopsis. So the episode starts with Tamaki
[00:06:01] as a new student at either a middle or an elementary school. I'm not really sure. He's
[00:06:08] drawn in that weird in-between age where he could be nine, he could be 12. It's our
[00:06:16] in America elementary school because he's in third grade according to the dub. Okay got you got
[00:06:21] you got you okay yeah so yeah he's a new student at an elementary school um obviously he is super
[00:06:28] shy and the kids kind of make fun of him or ignore him a little bit uh but Murio is the only
[00:06:35] one who's nice to him and very very quickly becomes his best friend. Your honor they are
[00:06:41] in love I rest my case. Yeah yeah that the Tamaki was the gayest eight-year-old I've ever seen
[00:06:48] staring at Murio like he was. He was whipped from the very beginning.
[00:06:55] Murio is shiny like the Mewana shiny song. Oh yeah with the little crab. Yeah with the
[00:07:03] crab it's been as soon as I saw that scene the song just popped up in my head.
[00:07:11] All right so then we after that cute little flashback we cut to the Shi'a Hisaiki raid
[00:07:17] with Naidai and all the others that are with him rushing in but they are almost immediately
[00:07:23] thrown off their planned course um by Shi'a Hisaiki shenanigans. Yes it was it was very
[00:07:32] jarring to go from sweet baby Amajiki to Yakuza violence in literally two frames.
[00:07:40] Um also Fatcom says that he hasn't seen any sign of suspicious activity yet after they had
[00:07:47] all been attacked by the Yakuza members like sir my darling my guy you're amazing but
[00:07:53] you're also being a little dumb today. I think he meant like uh tricky stuff. Did you say
[00:08:00] tricky or pricky? I thought they said freaky. Freaky could work too basically he was looking for
[00:08:08] like what Mimic eventually does. Okay okay he was looking for that kind of stuff not just
[00:08:15] outright attacking. Yeah and or an evil laboratory with evil across the door frame.
[00:08:22] But also like Fatcom being polite and saying sorry for not taking off their shoes
[00:08:27] That is so Trimbo energy. Oh he's so cute I love him oh my god um so yeah part of the shenanigans
[00:08:37] overhaul creates this blockade. Yeah which they are confused about because it's not on
[00:08:44] Naidai's foresight map so Mirio like goes through it and this is where we finally learn
[00:08:51] about Mirio's special hair costume that we've been yelling about for the previous three seasons
[00:08:58] and just make one for Hagakure. It's such a throwaway explanation that it had to be easy
[00:09:04] to make. Come on. Yes where is Hagakure? She needs one. Yes yes she does very very very
[00:09:12] much so um and then also in addition to that Mimic starts twisting the corridors around but
[00:09:19] his power doesn't work on Mirio so Mirio is still able to like go on ahead by himself
[00:09:26] um and he isn't obstructed the way the others are. Right and Fatcom makes a comment that Mimic
[00:09:33] is using a performance enhancer because he's not he's not usually able to do this much with
[00:09:38] his quirk and all I could think of was quirk Viagra because I'm a child.
[00:09:43] Uh I thoroughly giggled when I read that while doing this notes. I mean that's basically what
[00:09:50] this is right? Yeah they gotta get it up quick. It's Viagra, it's steroids, it's it attracts
[00:09:58] the same group of people. Yeah they have performance anxiety it's fine. Um and then Mimic
[00:10:08] twists the floor around he can like manipulate walls and floors or like objects or whatever.
[00:10:13] I don't know whatever I don't want to get into it. He does some more tricksy stuff
[00:10:20] and he drops everyone down into a room on the floor below and this room has three villains in
[00:10:27] it and obviously like the goal is that the heroes will start fighting these villains and
[00:10:31] they'll be slowed down so Tomoki volunteers to take on the three villains himself that
[00:10:37] way the others can continue forward. Yes because he was inspired by Mirio going forward before
[00:10:44] and he really just keeps looking at Mirio's butt like I like you can tell in the frames
[00:10:51] the camera is not aimed at the back of Mirio's head it's aimed elsewhere.
[00:10:56] Like they literally just zoom in on his butt. On his booty because Tomoki is very gay for
[00:11:02] his boyfriend. Also one of the three um Yakuza members down there one of the
[00:11:08] three of the eight bullets um he calls the heroes state authorized thugs in the dub
[00:11:15] and he is correct uh Acap. Yep yep don't you just hate when the bad guys are right?
[00:11:21] Yes but also he's right and I'm happy for him. He says them. Yep yep yep yep.
[00:11:32] So so Kirishima is not happy about Tomoki essentially like volunteering to sacrifice himself
[00:11:38] but Fat Gum reassures him he's like Tomoki is super talented he can handle this like don't even
[00:11:44] worry about it. Yes and also while he's like chilling out Kirishima um Fat Gum says of
[00:11:51] Tomoki that he's stronger than anyone here and Rucklok just side eyes him he's like
[00:11:57] immediately is like um in his head he's like that that's a child I'm an adult I'm personally
[00:12:03] victimized here. Unfortunately it is true sorry not Rucklok. Yeah sorry um also I feel like Tomoki
[00:12:12] he just needs some anxiety medication he just needs to calm down pharmaceutically um
[00:12:20] but I do wonder if it would even work properly because of what his quirk does.
[00:12:24] Horikoshi give me the answers. I am not Horikoshi but I will give answers.
[00:12:32] So probably because the medicine is not a protein but it's synthetic neurotransmitter
[00:12:38] so you know the little signals that the brain goes poof and tells you what to do
[00:12:44] um and as mentioned before it is it his quirk mainly deals with protein also Horikoshi
[00:12:52] send Tomoki to get some med please and thank you. And Horikoshi's like jokes on you this whole
[00:13:00] thing is about Japan and how much our mental health system sucks so. So he can't have Zoloft
[00:13:08] so there. Nope oh man so yeah cute Tomoki versus three villains battle which I'm not
[00:13:17] going to bother to describe I hate doing that. It was very good and very well done and Tomoki's
[00:13:24] beast and we have other things to talk about so. Exactly exactly. He had synthetic alarms it was
[00:13:31] fine. It was great he had a chimera kraken it was awesome. Yeah yeah lots of cool shit happen
[00:13:37] fight fight fight um and Tomoki we got another flashback or um yeah another flashback to
[00:13:44] Mirio giving him his hero name Sun Eater. We'll get to it. We will we are not going to let that
[00:13:55] unfortunately the fight isn't going super great for Tomoki um and while he's slowly losing
[00:14:02] he asks why the three villains are so committed to overhaul and it's we learn it's because
[00:14:07] he helped them when the world didn't. Yep yep yeah basically while Tomoki's getting punched
[00:14:15] in the face he's like why are y'all doing this and we get the sense that overhaul kind of
[00:14:21] plucked them from obscurity plucked them from their old lives. They're not brainwashed at all
[00:14:28] no they're just feeling emotionally validated um or it's both I don't know their lives.
[00:14:34] Yeah I think it's probably a little bit of both. I mean if they were in a dark place and someone
[00:14:40] helped them they would view that person as their savior. That's a little bit of
[00:14:46] brainwashing just right there. Yep yep yep and we will definitely get to that later as well.
[00:14:52] Um so Tomoki is losing the battle but then he thinks of Mirio and he regains the strength
[00:14:58] to keep fighting and then he wins the battle. Yeah boyfriend powers activate. Literally.
[00:15:06] And so the episode ends with Tomoki feeling empathy for the villains because he knows what
[00:15:10] it's like to have a strong emotional bond with someone. Yeah he was channeling his inner Izuku.
[00:15:18] Channeling it hard. They're both dorks. Such dorks oh my god I love it so much.
[00:15:24] With one person. Uh-huh. So some things of note uh first of all baby Tomoki's
[00:15:33] instant crush on baby Mirio is so stinking cute like he's got sparkly eyes there's rays of light
[00:15:41] like the whole thing it is so Izuku coated and yes of course I brought it back to Baku Deku
[00:15:47] it's me. How could how could you not right when Amajiki wants to shine like Mirio does
[00:15:54] and Bakugo wants to catch up to Izuku they're literally the same your honor.
[00:15:59] Yeah it's two relationships in different fonts. Yep yep yep yep also it really sucks that Ochako,
[00:16:06] Sue, Nezure, and Ryukyu couldn't get in the compound right away but then if they had
[00:16:11] the whole battle would have been over in like 10 seconds so I guess we needed to let the boys
[00:16:17] handle it so there could be a plot. I guess and I want I want to somehow insert the I guess angry
[00:16:24] gif into the listener's ear holes. I think you gave them a perfect visual representation of it.
[00:16:32] Auditory representation yeah. Yeah that works too. Mental mental that's what I was yeah yeah
[00:16:39] um but yeah they would have wiped the floor with everybody but you know plot is important I guess.
[00:16:47] I guess plot and character development and then then also get to see Fatum so yeah yes yes that
[00:16:58] part is incredibly important um also I'm a really big fan of the whole like we've got
[00:17:05] a well-thought-out plan and we're gonna go execute it and we've done everything right
[00:17:09] to prepare for this thing and then the plan goes awry like instantly. I love that trope and
[00:17:15] I think this is a great use of it. Also when Overhaul throws up that first blockade to
[00:17:21] prevent them from going down the correct hallway Izuku like immediately notes that if
[00:17:27] they hadn't already known where to go that would have been a big fat clue.
[00:17:31] Yeah um how to be sneaky one-on-one don't put up walls that are obviously different from the other
[00:17:37] walls yeah it was different structure different color like it was obvious yeah yep uh but then
[00:17:47] Izuku and Kirishima get to punch out the wall together and it was probably the highlight of
[00:17:51] Kirishima's life. Yeah yeah especially because they were both then immediately
[00:17:57] complimented by both Rock Lock and Fatum it was the best day of his year.
[00:18:02] Yep yep Kiri's inner fanboy was going crazy and also his Izuku fanboy self yep yep yep yep yep
[00:18:10] yep oh he's gonna go back to the Izuku club and gush all about it and they're gonna be so
[00:18:17] jealous.
[00:18:21] Murio immediately notices that Tomoki is having like some kind of anxiety attack when Mimic first
[00:18:27] starts like fucking with the walls and he snaps him out of it like so effortlessly he just
[00:18:33] knows him so well they're so cute I love them. Their husbands. Yes yes they are and that's the
[00:18:42] end of the episode. Murio science corner yeah well science room anyway science okay um so we'll
[00:18:50] start off with Tomoki's quirk but we already did one analysis analysis a few episodes back
[00:18:57] so we're back um so I said that his quirk probably works with protein I still stand by
[00:19:04] that yes yes I know there's the crystals and we'll get to that eventually big bio crystals
[00:19:10] we don't know so the only thing I will change is the fact that it works with meat um in this
[00:19:16] episode we see he can also sprout plants so plants also have a protein buildup but not as
[00:19:22] expansive as meat does there are things like avocados and edamame and lagoons that have high
[00:19:28] protein content oh and tofu which is soy based we can't tell what plants but I would
[00:19:36] assume it's one of these with a high protein count yeah as for crystals I know it's going
[00:19:44] to sound kind of cannibalistic but it is made with the guy's quirk and probably has a certain
[00:19:50] amount of protein within it and Tomoki was able to process it pretty quickly yeah I mean
[00:19:56] even proteins can still crystallize in the right conditions right yes yes um now on to the
[00:20:03] three villains because their their quirks were actually kind of interesting oh yeah so the first
[00:20:09] is the sword guy so the guy probably has to have high levels of iron and other metals in
[00:20:16] his body I would assume he probably has to consume high levels of iron heavy foods to
[00:20:21] maintain himself this could be beans probably meat too especially bone marrow um then there's
[00:20:29] a crystal guy since Tomoki can't consume his crystals there's a high possibility that
[00:20:34] his crystals are made from excess excessive proteins in his body so there are a certain
[00:20:40] number of quote unquote deaths that proteins go through um it is also possible to be made
[00:20:46] from his cells again containing a high number of proteins finally there is the all you can
[00:20:52] eat guy that's what I'm gonna call him he honestly terrifies the fuck out of me
[00:20:59] but that's beside the point it's the teeth it's always the teeth anyways uh so that guy has an
[00:21:06] uh endless stomach this probably means one of two things he either have either his body
[00:21:12] metabolizes at an exponential rate so super super quickly or his gut bacteria are super
[00:21:19] strength um if he metabolizes super quickly then that would mean that his body consumes all of the
[00:21:26] food so quickly that it requires so much energy which is why he's so skinny
[00:21:34] or if it's the super strength gut bacteria um that means that his bacteria morphed when
[00:21:41] he expressed his quirk so that your gut has a bunch of bacteria like your body
[00:21:47] your body in general has a bunch of bacteria you're never alone but specifically your gut
[00:21:54] um every person's gut bacteria is unique there's a certain level of like organisms that are the
[00:22:01] same but for the most part every gut bacteria is unique variations on a theme yeah anyways
[00:22:09] either way he is terrifying and I would never want to be in his stomach that would die
[00:22:14] okay and yeah science science that was amazing all right we're going to move along to discussion
[00:22:22] topics once I get to the right point in the notes um we're going to start with
[00:22:27] tomiki's hero name and how gay it is gay it is gay it is so very gay anyway that was beautiful
[00:22:40] 10 out of 10 thank you thank you yeah so basically tomiki and mirio walking home one day
[00:22:47] tomiki compares mirio to the sun because he's like you're so amazing you're like the sun
[00:22:53] and so mirio is like well if i'm the sun then you're the sun eater and obviously he meant
[00:22:59] like you're so much stronger than me but like you could also interpret it as mirio desperately
[00:23:06] wanting tomiki to eat him and you could interpret that as metaphorically or literally
[00:23:11] as you wish hashtag mirio vorkink yeah yeah correct uh-huh yep mirio he wants amajiki
[00:23:19] to do everything to him that is acceptable and also not acceptable um also if he didn't want
[00:23:26] to really make it a sexual innuendo he could have called him black hole or any other number
[00:23:32] of space metaphors but also even black hole becomes innuendo when you when you think about it
[00:23:39] in like context um but also also also i do wonder how slash if tomiki could manifest other
[00:23:48] people's quirks if he ate stuff like their hair or their sweat we know what happens when
[00:23:55] he eats the stuff that's produced by a quirk uh but what about just like the person's dna
[00:24:01] he's ingesting the quirk with or without it being expressed um i i want to know what happens
[00:24:09] hirakoshi and you haven't told me personally um but it would make tomiki and mirio's um
[00:24:16] private adult time a little dangerous but they probably like it i just ignored that whole
[00:24:24] section when i was writing in the notes just so you know but um i do have to say like it's
[00:24:32] protein anyways gang so gay so gay but yeah they're they're young men they're they're
[00:24:44] doing weird shit just because they can yeah yep yep and i think they're both also 18
[00:24:50] so they they can be doing whatever the heck they want so yep and i'm sure they are because you
[00:24:57] can't stop teenagers from doing anything they want to do nope nope especially when they're not
[00:25:02] that gay all right um moving along we're going to talk a little bit about overhaul as a boss
[00:25:11] slash manager slash how he is in the work setting
[00:25:17] yeah because we don't see a ton of him interacting with his cronies i guess you could call them
[00:25:24] his underlings um so i kind of just have to like guess um and obviously as a person he
[00:25:30] fucking sucks ass but in this episode especially his cronies are like practically in love with
[00:25:37] him so i assume that he must be a pretty decent boss by their standards which are probably low as
[00:25:45] hell since most of them were like treated like crap by the rest of the world before they joined
[00:25:52] shea hasai guy um and overhaul definitely seems like the type to take advantage of that and
[00:25:58] earn eternal loyalty by doing the bare minimum yep the bar is on the ground and he
[00:26:04] happens to have nice eyes so yeah but also i'm sure there's like a ton of yakuza boss etiquette
[00:26:12] and i don't know overhaul seems like the type to thrive in like a highly structured environment
[00:26:18] with clear expectations and consequences and like it kind of seems like that's his leadership
[00:26:24] style too like his expectations are very clear do what i say the consequences are immediate
[00:26:30] or else you die like if i were a social outcast living a life of utter chaos on the streets
[00:26:39] i would not be put off by that because at least expectations are clear yeah and it's like
[00:26:47] structured and stable almost yeah it's a weird kind of stability yeah yeah the clear structure
[00:26:54] and the validation for what they do and what potential they actually have it would it would
[00:27:00] be like heroin to anyone who didn't have something like that before and excuse the
[00:27:06] metaphor i couldn't think of anything more accurate um but they also get like a band
[00:27:12] of brothers from the other members of the of the group and they didn't have that before either
[00:27:18] so it's not just overhaul being a good boss it's their colleagues being good colleagues
[00:27:24] arguably it is only the eight bullets aka overhauls little clique um but yeah that
[00:27:31] that also helps i do wonder if he gives them good dental though oh man yeah he was like
[00:27:39] here here is a found family here are clear expectations go do the thing and they were
[00:27:43] like oh thank god yes and here is your insurance card yep it's it's time for yakuza lore um so
[00:27:53] unlike many other mafias the yakuza are very similar to the italian mafia they do prioritize
[00:28:00] found family a lot of these people within the yakuza always tend to be outsiders who don't have
[00:28:06] any semblance of familial and or friendship bonds with other people then if they have
[00:28:12] someone who accepts them as they are even if they are crazy etc um then of course they're
[00:28:19] going to take a chance overhaul himself is an outcast so he is able to find the people
[00:28:25] as well to join him also yes they do have good health care there is usually someone a doctor
[00:28:30] or a medic that is professionally trained that they keep around yes i knew it nice nice
[00:28:37] honestly yeah like i do it just for the health insurance yeah they have they have their own um
[00:28:44] what's her face own private doctor yeah yeah well also what's her face from ua the nurse
[00:28:51] the kissy lady what's her name motherfucker i'm blinking oh um um god damn it we're all
[00:28:58] terrible what is her name that's gonna be me hold on something girl healing old lady mha
[00:29:07] i don't need her actual name i need her hero name recovery girl yes good lord oh my god
[00:29:16] we had a collective brain fart yeah we really did we haven't seen her in like months honestly
[00:29:24] because he hasn't been there yeah he hasn't broken any bones damn it is
[00:29:30] all right so kind of building off of that we're gonna move into complications of loyalty just
[00:29:39] as a concept um so before they end up abandoning tomiki um or wait nor is after whatever it's
[00:29:49] before it's like right as they're running and he gives them more yes yes so izawa is the one
[00:29:55] who kind of explains to the others that the bonds between the shia hisaiki members will be
[00:30:01] really strong and that they'll be super loyal to their bosses and i love that kira shima gets
[00:30:07] so mad that the leaders are basically just using the lower ranking members as a distraction
[00:30:13] slash bait so they can get away and like darn right kid that is not loyalty at all
[00:30:19] yep yep also i have decided that kira shima would not thrive in the military oh god not at
[00:30:25] all after he sees the generals all just like sitting in a room with their drones while the
[00:30:31] infantry goes out to where it's actually dangerous he would immediately do a coup
[00:30:37] yeah uh plus he likes bright colors boy was not made for the military also he would not
[00:30:42] be able to dye his hair either boy would be depresso espresso yep yep yeah not a good fit
[00:30:49] not a good fit at all yeah so like you know obviously overhaul doesn't actually care about
[00:30:57] anyone below him unless they're useful to him but again that probably only matters so much
[00:31:02] to the shia hisaiki members because their need for shelter slash resources is like so immediate
[00:31:10] and that's just kind of like a common thing like in the real world when it comes to actions
[00:31:15] versus intentions you know we always talk about what matters more but that really depends on the
[00:31:20] context so actions are typically going to count for a lot more than intentions when you're in
[00:31:28] need or under threat like somebody who doesn't give a shit about you but helps you anyway
[00:31:34] for their own personal reasons is gonna earn more gratefulness or loyalty than someone who
[00:31:40] cares a lot but either doesn't or can't help yeah yeah you said it perfectly as usual because
[00:31:46] you're so smart thank you thank you it's almost like it's my job to break down hard concepts

[00:32:17] embarrassing bro get your own thing yeah but we did get a lot of interesting quirk matchups
[00:32:23] like aizawa couldn't erase mimic's quirk because mimic's body wasn't visible to him
[00:32:29] um and like mimic couldn't stop murio's forward progress because of how murio's quirk works
[00:32:35] and then tomiki's usual fighting style was kind of thrown off because he was up against a guy
[00:32:41] with a similar like eating quirk so he wasn't as effective as he usually is but then tomiki
[00:32:47] being able to eat the crystal guy's crystals and use his own quirk against him a la mona
[00:32:53] so there was just there was just a lot going on and a lot of factors to consider
[00:32:59] and i just love that our understanding of the my hero universe like kind of grows at the same
[00:33:05] pace as the kids like as the kids learn that fights aren't necessarily all about raw power
[00:33:13] or flashy displays and that things can get you know a hell of a lot more complicated
[00:33:19] and that success isn't always assured even if on the surface you're more powerful than the one
[00:33:24] you're fighting like as the kids learn that we get to actually see that in the episodes and
[00:33:29] i think that's really nice yes yes it's it's that good soup that pokemon thrives on you have
[00:33:34] tight matchups but you also have stats um and those come together to actually create
[00:33:40] your victory and it's not just one or the other it's always combining it see a science
[00:33:46] above that's the only no yeah maria already did all the hard work yeah yeah maria's just
[00:33:56] listening to us babble pretty much and eating my poofs yes it's your poofs all right and
[00:34:04] finally we're going to talk about the big three versus the lowercase big three

[00:34:23] and katsuki is tomiki or if it's the other way around and izuku is tomiki and katsuki is
[00:34:28] merio because like no matter how you compare them like it always works comparisons are just
[00:34:35] fascinating but anyway i think we can all agree that shoto is nejirei and although i
[00:34:40] can't explain why this makes perfect sense i know it does and i will die on this hill
[00:34:46] yes yes you you are correct and i think it's because shoto and nejirei pickles has chimed in
[00:34:53] um shoto and nejirei are both autistics who say whatever comes to their mind without the
[00:35:01] ability or even the thought to consider its context or social consequences they just say
[00:35:09] the truth as they think it that's totally it yeah that's exactly it yeah but also yes baku deku
[00:35:17] and tomiki murio whatever their ship name is uh they're perfect no matter what similarities
[00:35:23] are drawn so yes they are the same i wrote so much for the science guys okay you really did

[00:35:39] were actually quite a few for chapter 139 uh fat gum and rock lock's conversation at the
[00:35:45] entrance to the hideout it was a lot more about how they were both just getting kind of
[00:35:50] bad vibes than how the dub like tried to make it more concrete and thereby failed in
[00:36:00] expressing it so naughty um they did change kirishima's move names uh there's no difference
[00:36:08] between them they're just different words um i just didn't even notice yeah it was like red
[00:36:13] gauntlet and then one and it was red gauntlet in the dub and then red gun turret tower in
[00:36:22] the in the manga it didn't it didn't make any difference it was just interesting that they
[00:36:26] decided to change it um they do maybe one flowed better yeah yeah gauntlet does flow
[00:36:32] better that's true they do actually show a lot more of how mimic actually takes like
[00:36:39] possession of the walls in the anime uh which was much better to my my brain that craves logic
[00:36:47] and why um the the manga just kind of showed him taking his shot in one panel and then he
[00:36:53] was in the wall and the next like why how excuse me sir um and then shadow walking yeah for real
[00:37:01] and then there is a blurb at the end about how mirio's suit is actually inspired by a hero who
[00:37:08] saved him once but i can't think of whose costume his matches and i also can't remember
[00:37:15] if he ever like talks about that specifically so i don't remember that at all i don't i don't
[00:37:21] think so it's like he just kind of came out of nowhere but then we have that blurb it was
[00:37:25] probably all might yeah yeah probably they saved literally everyone else yeah yeah something like
[00:37:32] that i don't know all right and then for chapter 140 um one of the kids who was like with
[00:37:38] mirio when he was just drawing tomiki in with his nerdiness um he looks like astro boy
[00:37:47] kind of and i don't know why my brain put that together because i don't even know what astro boy
[00:37:51] is about i just know it exists and what he looks like um horikoshi can you please just label your
[00:37:57] easter eggs please she needs a spreadsheet horikoshi i need so many spreadsheets but also
[00:38:04] you can't you can't let it look like a spreadsheet because all the little lines and
[00:38:08] little boxes no you have to do the spreadsheet but then make it pretty she needs a very very
[00:38:13] pretty table yes it's my autism and adhd duking it out honestly
[00:38:21] and then and then for chapter 141 um apparently the larceny guy or the guy with the sword
[00:38:27] his life got so bad after his girlfriend left him with that whole mountain of debt or whatever
[00:38:34] he had to survive by drinking gutter water and ow that sucks that's terrible i do feel
[00:38:42] really bad for that guy his backstory fucking blows yeah yeah for real all right and then
[00:38:47] moving along to easter eggs um izawa he it's so it's like just kind of skated over but he
[00:38:56] really just knocked the alikini guy out just by like twisting his head the right way or just
[00:39:02] hitting him just right um he he should really take the hasai kai base as his own little
[00:39:09] ninja base of operations especially and also because bubble girl she calls the secret entrance
[00:39:16] when they go through like with a little with the vase and the floorboards um she says it's
[00:39:21] just like a ninja hideout and of course my mind um just immediately went to the joto pokemon
[00:39:29] games aka gold silver crystal and heart gold and soul silver and how there is that ninja type
[00:39:36] building in mahogany town so that's the only thing i was picturing this entire time
[00:39:41] i didn't read this far
[00:39:45] but yes now now that i now it's there i agree yep yeah also mahogany town was fun
[00:39:53] it's one of the best parts of like any of the games honestly i'm just going to take your
