[00:01:04] Well, there's also this other stuff like, you know, not just the rashes and swelling, but like joint pain and apparently it like your body starts stealing iron from your bone marrow because you can't absorb any of it, which explains why my bone density is so bad.

[00:01:22] So, I thought it was just malnutrition in childhood.

[00:01:27] But, I mean, I'm sure that didn't help, but...

[00:07:19] Well, this week we're covering episode 21 of My Hero Academia season four, Deku versus gentle criminal.

[00:07:27] And in the manga, this is chapters 175 through 177.

[00:07:32] So I'm going to lead us through a quick synopsis.

[00:07:35] This one is actually quick this time.

[00:07:37] It's quite quick.

[00:07:38] Oh, yes.

[00:07:40] Then hand it over to Maria for her science corner.

[00:07:43] And then Nicole is going to jump in, not for discussion topics because we don't have any, but manga differences and Easter eggs.

[00:07:51] And then we do have a couple of points to discuss in our big spoiler section at the end of the episode.

[00:07:55] So getting into the synopsis, class 1A is practicing for their performance in the gym.

[00:08:02] But then Hound Dog yells at them to go the fuck to bed because it's 9pm.

[00:08:06] The one, the one true counselor thing he's ever done.

[00:08:11] Mm-hmm.

[00:08:12] Mm-hmm.

[00:08:13] Uh, so back in the dorms, some of the kids go to sleep, but some of them are just a little too excited to sleep because the festival is tomorrow and they're just all hopped up on adrenaline.

[00:08:24] Um, and Izuku notices that the rope that they're going to use to lift Aoyama into the air is fraying because they've been practicing so much that they're destroying the rope.

[00:08:36] So he decides he's going to go pick up a new rope tomorrow morning because he's got errands to run.

[00:08:42] So he's just going to pick it up while he's gone.

[00:08:44] He, he's, he's busy.

[00:08:46] Um, also, uh, I noticed that Shoto was nowhere to be found either during their final rehearsal or during their evening discussions.

[00:08:55] And he only like shows up out of nowhere mysteriously right before they all go to bed.

[00:09:01] And I, I need to know what Shoto was doing that day.

[00:09:04] I need an episode.

[00:09:05] Yeah.

[00:09:06] He was just practicing away from prying eyes.

[00:09:08] And also he wasn't part of the, the main dancers and.

[00:09:12] But like all the rest of the special effects team were there for their rehearsal where we.

[00:09:20] Oh, or maybe he was just like very slightly off screen, but like around.

[00:09:41] So we cut to the next morning and Izuku is up at ass o'clock in the morning to train with Toshi.

[00:09:46] And Hatsume interrupts their practice because she's got his new support item gloves.

[00:09:52] So he trains with them for a while.

[00:09:54] Then he realizes, oh crap.

[00:09:56] I've been practicing for too long.

[00:09:58] I lost track of time.

[00:09:59] And now I need to go rush to do my errands and grab the new rope before the performance starts.

[00:10:04] And then he says, oh, yeah.

[00:10:07] I have his gloves.

[00:10:09] I feel like are just compression gloves.

[00:10:12] And those are amazing.

[00:10:14] I also use them.

[00:10:15] Yes, sir.

[00:10:16] I compression devices.

[00:10:24] No, two compression socks, one for each foot, multiple knee compressors.

[00:11:25] I think the gloves, they're definitely more the compression because they've got those

[00:11:28] little channels up top that I think just make it easier for Izuku to like direct his

[00:11:36] They are in fact support items that help aim the air, but also I feel like they're compression

[00:11:47] So Izuku has just finished his little shopping trip when he runs into gentle criminal and

[00:11:53] La Brava who are coming out of the tea house from the last episode.

[00:11:57] And Izuku, he's got all this like disguise stuff on, but gentle criminal pauses because he needs

[00:12:05] to like talk about tea for a minute.

[00:12:07] And he's stupid.

[00:12:10] Izuku recognizes him from the videos and like into it that he's about to attack you.

[00:12:17] A I couldn't quite follow his line of logic, but he, he got there.

[00:12:21] Yeah.

[00:12:21] And he knows that if gentle criminal attacks you a the festival is going to get canceled

[00:12:27] and then Aerie is not going to be able to attend and then Aerie will never ever smile

[00:12:32] again ever.

[00:12:33] So there's only like an hour and 30 minutes till the performance.

[00:12:37] I've already got countdown anxiety, but gentle criminal gets La Brava to start filming and

[00:12:44] he and Izuku start fighting.

[00:12:46] Okay.

[00:12:47] Okay.

[00:12:47] Like if gentle criminal would have just shut the fuck up.

[00:12:54] It would have been totally fine because when they like first run into each other, like Izuku,

[00:13:00] he was, he was never putting those pieces together.

[00:13:05] And then gentle criminal kept yapping an idiot.

[00:13:14] There was, there was plenty that could have been done to stop Izuku from realizing who gentle

[00:13:22] criminal was the number one way of which was to get your dumb ass boyfriend to shut up.

[00:13:33] They're so dumb.

[00:13:35] The only reason Izuku was finally able to recognize gentle criminal's voice and then kind of put

[00:13:40] together what he was doing there is because he just kept yapping.

[00:13:45] Shut up.

[00:13:47] Stop right as I took a bite.

[00:13:51] They have no thoughts, just vibes.

[00:13:54] Like they're true golden retriever couple.

[00:13:56] They're, they're so, so dumb.

[00:14:01] I started cackling so hard when she was like, there's no way we could have avoided this.

[00:14:59] It's so like watching them is so much fun, but describing them is so fucking boring.

[00:15:07] And it's just like, I can't, I can't do it.

[00:15:09] Um, but basically the main takeaways are gentle criminals quirk is called elasticity

[00:15:14] because he can make things bouncy, including the air.

[00:15:18] Also, Izuku finally figures out this new technique that he's been trying to learn.

[00:15:29] Um, there is one point where Izuku tries to leap at gentle criminal to tackle him to

[00:15:35] the ground and he runs into basically elasticized air from gentle criminal.

[00:15:44] I had to take several seconds to stop giggling.

[00:15:49] Have you ever seen the videos of people walking into Saran Wrap?

[00:19:02] And he just like went with it because they're in like this residential street.

[00:19:10] And it almost gets freaking killed by a steel girder that is also able to just hold, which

[00:19:21] But yeah, one hour late nights with.

[00:19:29] But yeah, one hour before the performance starts, LaBrava notes that they may need to
