[00:02:50] It's honestly kind of rude but also I don't want it to end ever. Yeah oh my god I mean we've said this before and been wrong but the possibility that the manga could just end this year is like what

[00:03:06] did you want it? And I'm just over here by being. Yeah Maria does not have a care in the world and on the one hand it's enviable and on the other hand how dare you. I have too many other things

[00:03:22] going on in my life that's yeah I'll give you that this time. Yeah Nicole and I have also invested a lot of or Sundays into the manga. Yeah going from doing all of that to having nothing to do is

[00:03:37] going to be very weird. Yeah my mom might be trying to go to church to discuss it. Oh my god I don't get all of the messages anymore on our group chat. That's true that's true but don't they add a

[00:03:52] little something to your life? It just makes me giggle every time. A little shwada viva. All right well anyway. This week we're covering episode 12 of my hero academia season four on foreseen hope which in the manga is chapters 153 through 155 so I'm gonna lead us through a quick synopsis

[00:04:14] and then Maria's going to come in for science corner and then Nicole will jump in for discussion topics, manga differences and Easter eggs and then we will wrap up the episode with our big spoiler

[00:04:25] section. So we start with the slight flashback and we see what happened during so like while Lemiliance fight was happening other things were happening so we're seeing those other things. The heroes are restraining mimic and I saw a confirms that mimic was using an enhancement drug

[00:04:43] which has now worn off or is mostly worn off and NIDI confirms that twice in Toga are the only league members there so they don't have to worry about the others. Yeah yeah but most importantly

[00:04:55] at one point during the dub Ironaka just angrily squealed and I felt that in my soul. Yes, yes sir but also also I need to know which form is his true form like the little short guy or this

[00:05:13] average height dude who I am currently picturing wearing suspenders but I don't actually remember if he was wearing suspenders. I need the information horgo-y. No clue. Not at all and also it's not important I was trying not to get it everything because of my printer.

[00:05:32] I think I'm just going to assume that his normal sized form was just like the last little side effect of the enhancement thingy wearing off. I can't words today good lord. Words are stupid anyway it's fine we'll go with your idea because it sounds correct.

[00:05:49] Oh yeah. Also we learned that rock lock has to stay behind because of his injuries if I everyone remembers he got stabbed in the side by time. He got stabbed. He did he got pretty darn stabbed

[00:06:05] and everyone else moves on to get to airy. We also learn a little more about rock lock and his motivations for trying to keep the kids out of the fight which you know we'll get to it.

[00:06:15] Yeah. Also even decus English dub actually called him rock lock lock instead of rock lock like out loud instead of just in the subtitles. I don't have any commentary for that because my

[00:06:28] brain was just mush but I wanted it documented for future commentary. Also at this point we see rock locks new baby and it is at once they are at once very cute and very ridiculous looking

[00:06:44] because it's like giving the side eye to the camera. His genetics are strong. The strongest. Yeah his poor wife basically just popped out of clone of him. But the baby is very cute.

[00:06:59] So then we get a quick cut to Toga and Twice who want to keep hitting the heroes and the Shia has sci-kai against each other so they'll take each other out. Also I love them together.

[00:07:11] They need their own whole spin-off. Yes yes it was the ADHD bounce. Yes oh my god they both definitely like feed each other's energy and just yet each other worked up it's like watching two puppies play

[00:07:25] around. Yeah they're so cute. And then Deco kicks through a wall and we're back in the present and fight fight fight blah blah blah you know I hate this part. I just hate it. I just don't like

[00:07:38] describing it. I just ripped out the drawstring of my pants that's fun. Anyway okay. Also also not not blah blah blah rude my husband got slashed in the all-dad he did yeah you got slashed.

[00:07:55] Yeah just a little blood just a little flash wind just small one but it did actually like cause him to blink and it's what allowed overhaul to use his quirk again. And I I want to know how

[00:08:10] NIDI while he was doing his weird little shirtless hug with his ward and the child. He just kind of Tarzan skated backwards along the new stalagmites and like surf what what is happening? What kind

[00:08:24] of energy are you actually bringing to this? Anime physics. Yes I was going to say the power of or maybe he watched a little bit too much um what's the ice skating anime? You're an ice? Yes.

[00:08:39] Yeah I like that. He would watch that because of how gay he is. Absolutely and of course he thinks he's victor. Oh yeah he's very much not victor though. Oh but anyway while um Izzawa's

[00:08:59] quirk is not working. Overhaul uses his quirk to merge himself with his shin and it's gross. It's gross but it's also badass um also whore gays shin. I feel like this is not how he wanted

[00:09:16] to become one with overhaul. Yeah definitely nobody had mine. Yeah this is just a whole new non-gMO spotted. Yeah yeah and then we see Chrono head-dap Isawa because the she has sci-kai like

[00:09:31] slash or afraid of his quirk and then this part is where Isawa also officially learns that area is the old bosses granddaughter and not overhaul's daughter. Yes and apparently at the time I was

[00:09:43] excited by the lore um I forget what I was excited by so we're just going to move along and to the more important point of Chrono the guy who abducted Isawa he's hot and how dare he. Bad guys are hot

[00:09:59] sometimes I had I had very confusing emotions watching that scene. Oh yeah oh yeah you know we're gonna talk about it later because I also had thoughts so then Nidai takes on overhaul and he uses his own

[00:10:12] quirk to try to predict how overhaul can be defeated but he can't figure it out um and then Nidai gets big stabbed to like sacrifice himself and create a new future where they can save everyone else.

[00:10:26] It's like I don't know what's complicated I guess he thought that like you know he couldn't find a scenario where they were successful while he himself was alive so he was like okay what if I die?

[00:10:38] Yeah yeah I'd say that's probably what is actually going on here because it like he tried to sacrifice himself but like it didn't work because they're still I don't know it's very confusing as is everything with Surnai Dai um I feel like yeah he tried to sacrifice himself

[00:10:58] to change the factors for exactly the others um but then Izuku also got stabbed so he he's not good at his job either way. Yeah I mean I don't know it is complicated maybe he was right

[00:11:15] but we who knows this is a very metaphoric art it is it is and Nidai doesn't perfectly explain his thought process because you know no there was a fight he was busy and he's also Nidai and he's stupid

[00:11:31] so then Mirio we cut to Mirio who is trying to escape with Erie but then he collapses and overhaul manipulates Erie into trying to surrender herself so no one will die but Izuku was like

[00:11:46] fuck that we're gonna win and then finally Ryukyu and her team smashed through the roof yep and that's where the evidence beautiful um and when um overhauled did in fact use shin squark I'd spend the whole episode wondering if he could actually use shin's quark and of course

[00:12:07] he can and he says someone else is going to die because of you and like is he using shin's truth quark differently than shin does there is this actually what his quark does as opposed to

[00:12:19] questions and answers and it just I feel like it's good that um actually that's a spoiler at some point there had to be some line of thinking that overhaul is like an AU version of aFO successor with

[00:12:38] this part of the arc like he's now using two quarks at once like mm-hmm it's pretty obvious and I'm mad at myself that I didn't notice it before now um it's yeah I think after this we do

[00:12:50] start to see more examples of people with multiple quarks but this is like the first um example yeah and it's it's not like from aFO um yeah overhaul an aFO or two different entities

[00:13:07] I mean overhaul desperately wants to be aFO but yeah exactly exactly but like he didn't like give one to the other or one to the it there are many roots the whole thing could have taken but we'll get

[00:13:18] anyway um and then overhaul slash shin used the truth manipulation quark I almost said twerk yeah she's gonna twerk he's gonna twerk he's gonna use his truth quark twerking to say

[00:13:38] in the English dub it's so much easier to be hurt yourself than to watch other people be hurt for you first of all that hurts um second of all very good job with the mirror mallet even though it hurts

[00:13:53] also because of course khatski's got in this episode and I'm constantly thinking about khatski if he had heard this I feel like he would have just spontaneously combusted oh yeah oh yeah he would have fried his brain oh yeah it would boom final boom

[00:14:25] kids because actually he was upset that they were involved in a war that they shouldn't have to fight and he was trying to protect them but then also he's like why are these kids better at our

[00:14:36] jobs than we are these like simultaneously protective of and impressed by them yes and I feel like it's because like you and your generation paved the way rock lock good lord I think my trunk

[00:14:53] but it's like also yes I love him he's perfect and he doesn't know where to put all his feelings and I agree yeah yep yep he's like protect the kids but also how are you all badasses

[00:15:04] yeah that's totally true oh man so then nine i notes that myrio took down like half of the eight bullets by himself and then he assumes that overhaul used one of his precious cork destroying bullets specifically because maryoscares the piss out of him and he's correct

[00:15:26] yes yes overhaul is a scared little piss baby he doesn't he doesn't hold on to his ideals to like save himself because he's the piss baby coward bitch he's like you're stronger than me we

[00:15:41] cannot have that happening nope nope nope nope nope nope also chronofully looks like a kpop star right yes so I had a full like epiphany i think cronus didn't make it through the kpop training

[00:15:58] so he turned to the yakuza and now they have to be serinated by him yes every night yes and yes okay yeah yeah yeah yeah and he also freaking out the cork the karaoke machine

[00:16:09] and they're like oh my god dude give it a rest but no he can't he can't and he goes out to karaoke nights and he and ectoplasm or secretly besties doing karaoke together yes oh my god

[00:16:35] knows who the other is and like maybe they like low key have crushes on each other but it's like Romeo Julia oh god we're on opposite size of the war kind of a thing yes someone go right this

[00:16:47] for me right now I'm busy with poking one fanfic so very noble cause it is thank you i'm going to do all the lore for Nintendo since they won't give it to us even though they might in fact

[00:17:02] give it to us next year with the game that's coming out but that's not quick enough we demand a new game Nintendo now maybe to know one every two months because that's one my ADHD cycles

[00:17:18] oh lord alright well in a flashback we see night eye and grand terino meet up to talk about all and this just may be wonder how often that happened like no wonder poor grand terino is so

[00:17:34] weird he's had to babysit the world's biggest weirdos for decades like all of his patients all of his common sense has just been beaten out of him yeah yeah they they fried his brain yeah

[00:17:48] poor man but also grand terino is correct night eye is completely overthinking what he can do and also giving himself far too much credit for knowing and or influencing the future like bro

[00:18:02] just sit down calm down take a nap also grand terino is like the exhausted grand dad of all the weirdos yes yes he like decided to become a foster parent later in life and now he has all

[00:18:19] these people with way more energy than him he doesn't know it and he has he's just like I have so many regrets damn it and he's slowly losing his mind and getting down to their level and he hates every

[00:18:32] second of it absolutely so also during the fight overhaul notes a couple of times that izuku's fighting strategy is too simple and easy to predict which echoes kosuki's earlier comments after his and izuku's fight at grand beta so the struggle for izuku to get smarter and battle continues

[00:18:56] yeah yeah he's he's a poor little dumb dumb at least in this avenue of his development what you can't actually project your moves to literally doubled up super villains and expect it

[00:19:08] to go well you can't show what you're going to do next do yeah boy is like punch and kick that'll do it yes but he shows them where he's going to do it but like he because he projects his moves like

[00:19:21] that's a whole thing in like boxing and mix martial arts like you can't show what your move is before you do it and yet he's uku is like hey i'm gonna punch it out and then he'll get to punch in the face

[00:19:31] because he's poor little dumb dumb for sweet boy he gets there eventually but it takes some time it takes a while and then my final comment is that miriyo's breakdown when his body couldn't move

[00:19:46] anymore and he was like fleeting for airy to keep going and to save herself like that made me tear up like i'm not gonna lie like that shit moved me and i know it wasn't just the hormones

[00:19:56] yeah i wasn't it is very a very good scene a very emotional scene even coming from me who has miriyo quite far down on the favorite characters list it's also definitely not a coincidence

[00:20:10] that he kept saying move damn it to his own body with the whole thing of bodies moving without conscious thought he was like a mind over matter that's all that matters right now yep and it is

[00:20:24] very sad it was very sad but it was fine whatever he's fine just he just got mildly stabbed he'll be fine yep yep and yeah that's the end of our science corner there no god board

[00:20:38] she's surprised that's the end of the episode i'm i'm gonna go sit in the corner yes because it is miriyo's science corner time yes yes it is and um i went really big brain

[00:20:53] was this yes so i guess it's finally time to get to overhaul work so his is a degeneration and regeneration so basically he's like a human sized protein so proteins are used to break down

[00:21:09] and regenerate matter so basically that is what his body is doing of course he has to like much matter to activate his protein like abilities just might be why he breaks out in

[00:21:22] highs when he touches people you notice that when he does not when he touches um just regular old objects he's fine but not with people so basically his body is having a reaction to other

[00:21:34] people's body it's because he sees the quirk the quirk of the person itself as a foreign entity hmm so it is entirely possible that the reason why he eventually comes to be quirk says evil

[00:21:49] is because he's allergic to other people's quirks whereas with objects his protein like abilities do not recognize it as foreign molecules i mean it's he probably has other reasons why he's crazy but you

[00:22:02] know it's I would assume that's one of the main reasons he wants quirk less people so he's no longer allergic to the quirk yes that's interesting and actually i think that fits pretty well with uh

[00:22:15] like metaphorical intentions of the quirk is it's like on a visual representation of his intolerance of others yeah so I feel like this is a like perfectly in line with that yeah he can't tolerate it

[00:22:29] being in any other shape than the one that he himself can make as a protein yeah yeah that's brilliant Maria good job thank you like I said i had a very big brain moment i used the last of my brain

[00:23:10] makes sense because his quirk is probably very distressing to him but I think i'm with easugu on the whole fighting fate thing like statistically speaking and Maria correct me if i'm wrong like there are

[00:23:23] an infinite number of potential futures because technically anyone could do anything at any moment and thus if there are an infinite number of futures fate may as well not exist right yes i agree so

[00:23:37] every little decision you may greatly impacts the future but the possibilities are endless uh there might be one and thing that is likely to happen and that's probably what he sees because like proportionally it is the biggest thing that could happen but that does not necessarily mean that

[00:23:55] it is the one that's gonna happen so if you think of it like a graph um it'll be probably like the very at the top is the highest likelihood and then i just kind of slopes down right times

[00:24:09] the least likely so he'll probably see what's most likely versus what's least likely yeah exactly and then i was wondering like how many potential futures night i could see in the span of a few

[00:24:23] seconds because that's all he had during the fight he couldn't just sit there and ruminate he had other decisions to make another things to do so like even if he was able to see like dozens or

[00:24:34] hundreds of potential futures like that's nowhere close to infinity and yeah he's gonna look at the ones he thinks are most likely first but i'm was wondering if that was really just going to reinforce his pre-existing biases yes and also um orcocet he's just playing doctor strange in

[00:24:55] the bar gate format yeah also doctor strange should have been gay it would have been much more interesting but anyway it's but is what was the movie before endgame i don't know maybe there's too many

[00:25:40] like also you have to keep up with 20 different series and movies at the same time yeah no no and none of them are interesting enough to hold my attention long term like sorry anymore no

[00:25:54] like endgame made me cry burn in a test we were both crying in the theater yep yep y'all the only one that i feel like has made me feel that way has been the new black panther movie

[00:28:07] he might as well just be saying string theory and multiple futures are not only possible but inevitable and he's just trying to smash us over the head with that metaphor or something i

[00:28:34] per chapter for 153 the first page of chapter 153 is the announcement that vigilantes had started its own manga and it was like whoa oh my god that feels like ancient history yep that was at least

[00:28:50] 500 years ago and then in the actual plot of it during rock locks motivational like yell when he yells at them all to do good there are actually panels of all the heroes that he's talking

[00:29:03] about and that were cut from the anime rude um he also for some weird reason that didn't actually matter to any of the plot he mentioned that his wife is four years younger than him and i'm confused

[00:29:18] and a little worried but then i checked the wiki and he's 32 so they're like there's not any weird aged difference things at least i don't think so and that why why why was yeah she's 28 dude she's fine

[00:29:31] it's fine like he's a grown-ass person you don't need to worry about her she's good yeah we're good like you don't need to bring your wife into this even though i guess husbands like to

[00:30:07] and i feel like the anime improved on that yeah that was a good choice and then for chapter 155 as always abduction was actually reordered in the anime and this is where we see it actually comes

[00:30:19] after night i get his big stab stab so doesn't really matter but just interesting but when re-uq and the others fall through the ceiling and like out of nowhere she says bullsye like she like

[00:30:34] meant to end up exactly where they were multiple transmoggerified floors below the surface like hell yes that's my lady but also man i feel like that's unlike lay but okay well i mean if she

[00:34:22] are doing a theme here i see it and i wondered if it's to do with like multiple quirks being activated and having to like hold the body together and it just looks it just appears more

[00:34:35] prevalent in the blood vessels closer to the surface that just makes them appear darker because the blood is different now and there are things happening Maria i'm need you to catch the fuck up

[00:34:46] she can tell me what the science is here is it just blood is weird because i think that's a good enough explanation oh catch up eventually okay we're not gonna be really relevant at the same
