[00:00:00] Hey y'all, welcome to the second to last episode of Catch The Fuck Up. I'm fainatic and I'm sad. I am Nick O'all I'm also sad and alone. And ooohh, it was almost late because my dog Pickles was rude but we're here and we're sad and

[00:00:21] also happy. Maybe? Yeah, that's a bit. Again. Emodecins, this property. This is just how it is. Now, yep. Yep. Oh, well, how it is now her another week and then. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yeah. So today we're looking at my hero

[00:00:42] acogene my hero academia chapter 429. I am here. And it is the penultimate episode of the final chapter is going to be next week. It's hard as we know. Or acos she doesn't have anything else

[00:00:59] up his sleeve. So yeah true true shall we dive right in? What else can we possibly do? Oh, we can cry but let's just wait. So you open the chapter to find a full page art spread for the 10th

[00:01:17] anniversary of MHA. Oh man. Oh, it started 10 years ago and it ends next week and we only joined the fandom like what? Two or three or four years ago? Yeah. Oh my god. Yeah, 10 years ago was just

[00:01:35] another time completely. I feel like we've lived through their apocalypse like three or four times. Yeah. Yeah, it was 2014. I had just graduated from college and it uh a whole other time.

[00:01:50] Let anyway back to the chapter. Yeah. So the full page spread shows class A, one A to two A. They're all on the couch taking a group photo together. So starting from the right hand side

[00:02:08] we have Toshi with his hand on Yuku's head because that's his child. Oh, that's his little baby. This is baby and then we have Isawa who has tied a bow in his scarf for the occasion.

[00:02:22] And smiling. He's smiling like arguably like his only true smile in the property. Yeah, I genuinely can't I mean it's possible that there's another genuine smile somewhere in the property but I do not remember it. Yeah, and it was always during like traumatic times.

[00:02:42] But this is like he's he's here with his kids and he's happy. And then we have Shogi with his mask off. We have Eda with his hair combed different. We have Momo and Sue and Ochocho and Denki falling

[00:03:01] over the couch. We have the great bitch Mineta on the floor trying to be sexy on his want to be Boyfriend's Sue Izuku. Yeah, yeah, he's never going to stop trying. No, never. I do want to point out because one of

[00:03:17] the few leaks I saw was actually for Ochocho. So if you actually zoom in and look at her bun, it's Togo's hair bite. Oh yeah. Yeah, look at it. We'll get to it and so sad. I know everyone is sad.

[00:03:37] But to keep going we have on the other side we have Sarah. We have Hagaka in full visibility. Slain she's so cute. And then we have Toko Yamie, Jiro, Sato, Kota, and Mina rocking a suit

[00:03:55] Yes, Queen. She looks so happy. Yes. And then we have Ojo, Kira Shimo with his boyfriend, Shoto and Katsuki. And then of course we have the new addition, she and so. And of course,

[00:04:10] Ouyama was pulled. Yeah, he still needs to be there. So everyone is together. Everyone is happy. And now we're going to turn the page to the sadness. Yep. All right. So before the main sadness that

[00:04:24] we've been waiting for, we get trauma. Yeah more more did it just, uh oh god. We are the story continues even without class A. So we are now finally learning who that new random character is.

[00:04:42] And it turns out it's not actually anyone we knew. It's nobody's new form is a completely new character who was horrifically abused by his family. Yep. For a quirk that is not quite specified.

[00:04:58] Yes. So his quirk is a quote unquote freak variant. It is a mutation. So probably like Aries is quite, it's really dangerous. What a very dangerous and it's nothing like the rest of

[00:05:11] his family. So in response, his bitch ass family and it's like not just his mom and dad. It's like all the adults in his extended family. Yeah. It's like multiple generations of people do this. Yes.

[00:05:27] I don't know if we can or cannot hold this to historical countable because again, it might have been another child at the time. And we obviously can't hold her accountable. But if she was an adult sister, I am holding her accountable. Anyone? Well, also she's fictional. They're

[00:05:42] all optional. So we can all do all accountable. Why not? Yes. Yes, we can. So we learn that this poor sweet baby when they found out what his quirk was, they locked him in the basement. And when he was

[00:05:57] crying and screaming too much, they sold his mouth shut. Yep. Yeah. That's that and he was in the basement for who knows how long until the war started and his family tossed down some

[00:06:18] water and some quote unquote baked goods. I'm imagining some stale loops of bread. And left him there in the basement and they fled and I hate all of them. But during the war, during the battle,

[00:06:32] one of them caused just the right destruction to essentially break open his basement, which he was apparently still locked in. They left him there. Oh yeah, they were clearly hoping that he would die.

[00:06:44] Yep. So he's finally able to escape the basement now that the war is over and the description, destruction and reconstruction basically opened away out. And so he gets out onto the street and while the sunlight is hurting him and he's sad and everything is terrible. He actually

[00:07:04] comes out onto the street to kind of a joyful relief effort. He comes out to see everyone is happy and laughing and smiling. Yeah, exactly. Like free bottles of green tea like they're having

[00:07:17] a little semi picnic moment. Yep. Yep. It's all well and good and this poor child is like, why are all these people smiling so much back to the theme of smiling? And we get the the thread

[00:07:32] that was used as so his poor mouth shut. It's like still kind of in his mouth and dripping out and it's really gross or it goes, he's really leaning into the horror. Yeah, he's making this person

[00:07:42] look as gross as humanly possible because it's basically just a repeat of like, you know, what happened with so many other villains. They look gross. Their work is dangerous. It's the perfect storm for everyone to just hate them on site. Yep, and they're not included in any

[00:07:59] sort of community. And so they're just out looking different and looking dangerous even if they're not. And it's very much a difference. Or even if they are but through no fault of their own. Exactly.

[00:08:10] Yes, that too. And it's almost a direct mirror to when sweet little baby Tango had his trauma incident and was out walking the streets. I'll literally exactly. Yep. All right. So then we turn

[00:08:23] the page and we get to the sadness that we were hoping was not going to come. But I'm still hope I'm still holding out hope because I am too, because I'm completely delusional. Yes, but

[00:08:36] also we didn't see the body again. We didn't see the body. So we are returning to Ochoko who is having her breakdown. All her emotions are coming to the surface because she's been

[00:08:49] suppressing them for X amount of time. She's flashing back to Togo, who is like, she's just flashing back to how she was able to save Togo because she took the time to go above and beyond.

[00:09:03] Well, we'll understand her and Togo responded to that understanding finally by saving her life by saving her and so Ochoko is basically like it's my fault. She's and then he's Eucua arrives, which we saw at the end of the last chapter. Mm-hmm. Okay. So Eucua arrives and Ochoko

[00:09:25] literally because she is Ochoko. She covers her face and she's like, why are you here? Why? Yep. She's like, I'm not crying. This is a happening. This is fine. Wait. What are you doing here?

[00:09:36] So Eucua is not here. I'm totally fine. This is great. So with that Eucua, let's her know like he had a feeling that everything was not right and he basically followed his instincts and followed

[00:09:49] Ochoko out to this point where they'd had their heart to heart before the battle. Mm-hmm. And Ochoko is still in denial still covering her face. She's like, I told you I was going home

[00:10:00] what what what is even happening and Eucua was like, I know but I had my friendship feelings. We're going off. Yeah. Yeah. My my secret quirk that I'm still convinced exists. Yes. Yes. Exactly. His his spidey senses were tingling. Yes. Yes. And then Ochoko kind of reveals that

[00:10:21] she's upset that he's there when she like doesn't want to be seen like this like she isolated for the specific reason of not having anybody else be burdened with helping her. Yeah. So yeah. And so Eucua is like sorry but also not sorry. Yes. Yeah. He's like, don't

[00:10:41] mean to make you feel uncomfortable but maybe we need to sit in this discomfort for a minute. For just a minute because I'm going to talk to you because I know you're going through stuff.

[00:10:50] I'm going through stuff and he goes over how Ochoko has always been there for him and for everybody from the entrance exam to the sports festival to when they were bringing Eucua back from

[00:11:04] his ex-adventure to when Ochoko basically screamed at everyone to let him back in and stopping a bunch of dicks. Basically, he's just outlining how she has always been a source of strength

[00:11:18] for him and for the class. And so he reveals that Ochoko is his hero. He says, your my hero. Because he's a boy and their bestie. So and then he continues and he actually says, I can't

[00:11:33] continue taking your strength for granted. Mm-hmm. Good. Like we've accidentally been taking advantage of you. Yes. And it's now that we're aware of it, it's going to stop. It's going to stop

[00:11:44] and I am here for you now. So I'm going to hold your hands to help you suit the pain and Ochoko just breaks down again and full on Ochoko crying. She's ugly crying and she's crying that it's

[00:11:57] her fault that he may co-dyed. If she hadn't gotten stabbed, if she hadn't been overthinking everything, essentially Togo would have survived because she wouldn't have given her all her blood volume to Ochoko. Mm-hmm. And she's just going through all the regrets because she's all the

[00:12:16] babies, all the possibilities that are never going to happen. Yep. Yep. And then Ezuku starts sympathy crying because of course he lets her know he's going through the same thing like he's literally doing all of that overthinking about what he could have done for Tango and how

[00:12:34] the path that he chose was kind of always going to be a path that not quite everything worked out 100%. So he's like, I'm here with you. We are on the same wavelength. I am here. Unfortunately,

[00:12:47] this is how the world works and we've got to find a way to live with it and keep going. Yep. And so he says this is how it is when we do go above and beyond but it does make a difference. It

[00:12:59] is a good thing even though we're going to sit here and cry for a little bit about it. Yes. And then before the freaking straight shown in tropes that everyone was expecting and or hoping

[00:13:13] what happened, me hoping wasn't going to happen. Before they have any sort of romantic leeched tingeed moment, there's none of that because even like oh talk, I feel like is over

[00:13:29] her crush it on Ezuku. Yeah, I think she's just in a different place and I mean at like, you know we've been saying since the beginning these two have a lot in common and they're clearly

[00:13:40] like mirrors of each other and it's just it's just nice to see them both recognizing that and yes, being like besties. They're being besties and they love each other and they don't have to be straight

[00:13:52] anymore. Yeah, they don't have to get together for their relationship to be meaningful. Yes, people. All right. So moving along from that, their little cry fest is not interrupted. It is joined. Right. Literally all the rest of class A. Yes. Followed Ezuku out. Who just completely mob her.

[00:14:11] Yes. And also this is including she and so he was dragged along for the ride. You can see him. They're behind Dinky. Just like, okay, we're doing this. I need to learn how to be a class A.

[00:14:23] What's what's going on? What do we why? Okay, cool. Okay, I'm here. What what what do you need? And then Sue just fully glumps on her. It's it's amazing. Sue comes running and slams right into

[00:14:38] her and Ezuku steps out of the way as everyone kind of gathers around and Ezuku. He looks at his hand and we see a picture of the ember of one for all because he admits that he actually used quite a bit of his power to get to Ochoko.

[00:14:51] It's fast as he did, but it's still there. It's still good. It didn't go out. Yeah, Ezuku says it's fine. Also I love that Constantly checking in with him. Yeah, and also Katsuki is right there next to Ezuku. He doesn't even need to go to Ochoko.

[00:15:06] Like they're friends. He's there. That's all she needs. He's with his ascent. Yeah, yeah. I do think it's interesting that everyone else is looking out Ochoko. Katsuki is looking at Ezuku. Yes, as he should be. But of course, Mineta over here and everyone's like freaking out

[00:15:22] about the ember because they know what the ember is. But Ezuku is like ensuring them that he's fine. Also, Ezawa is there because he came up with them because he's always there when his kids are having an emotional moment.

[00:15:33] Like when Shoto almost lost his dad with the no-mo way back when. He's such a good dad. It's such a good dad. All right. And everyone's so happy for Ezuku.

[00:15:45] Because it looks like he still might get to be a hero. Yes, Ezuku is. All right. So with that, everyone is together and happy and emotionally supporting each other now. And then we get more

[00:15:56] of Ezuku's narration. He says he completed one for all. He goes into that ember automation going forward. It's going to be helpful. We see the like the next day. We're back at UA out front. We're all those statues are

[00:16:13] Monima gets his statue on the black of fame with all the other heroes and he's delighted. Lighted and class B is also there celebrating with him. Good boy. And then we go to Ouyama's goodbye party.

[00:16:29] Where Eri is there. And she's with Jiro's playing her guitar providing the music and it pans out and Eri just leaps into the ear and everyone's so happy and they're celebrating Ouyama as they're saying goodbye. Oh, good babies. Everyone is happy and or supporting each other. Yeah.

[00:16:53] Also, it's so good. Also Ezuku is gobsmacked that Ari is like a little metal head like all the all the way up and had kids were saying yes, yes, she is. She has Jiro and Katsuki. There's no

[00:17:08] way. She's not going to end up a metal head. Yes. Oh, it's beautiful. It's wonderful. So then we leave the class there and there are little happy moments. We go to Hawks and Toshi having a lunch meeting

[00:17:22] because they're still work to be done. Yep. And you know, Hawks got to have a chicken. Yep, Hawks has his chicken. They're presumably either at his office or at that restaurant where he had his first lunch

[00:17:33] meeting with Endeavor. Toshi is in his wheelchair and you can still see his eyes. So yes, he kind of looks a little healthier. Yeah, he looks like a little like he looks like he's put a little

[00:17:46] weight or maybe a little more milnone. I can't tell. Mm-hmm. I think he looks like going to be a neck brace. He could, but I don't know. I think he still looks better. He does.

[00:17:56] Something he just, yeah, his eyes look less sunken the way they're drawn. I think I think that's what it is. Yeah, yeah for sure. So the resting thing. God. Thank god. So this meeting basically Hawks

[00:18:09] is going over his plans to broaden the billboard like popularity polls. And Toshi had thought, for sure that Hawks would like do away with them because of all the trauma Hawks suffered at the professional or military industrial complex, essentially. Mm-hmm. But Hawks reveals

[00:18:28] that there was good that came from the billboard popularity contest, like because of Endeavor's popularity Hawks was able to kind of escape his situation as a kid. Yeah, like it gives people upward mobility. Um, gives people like, like a sense of like healthy competition. Mm-hmm.

[00:18:49] In the sense that like, I mean, you know, obviously you should be saving people for the sake of saving them, but also, you know, we want to save people and like show people how to do it in a way

[00:19:01] that like everyone is benefited. And yes, everyone is a little entertained, but they're also being essentially being influenced to also help out and be influenced. Yes, exactly. It's motivating. Yes. In the right context. Yes. And that is what Hawks is going to aim for as he broadens that

[00:19:19] scope out. He's going to make it so it's not just about the professional heroes as celebrities. He's going to essentially make it so everyone kind of feels involved and everyone can be on the billboards.

[00:19:31] And everyone can be involved in doing good. Yes, exactly. And then when someone does do good, you know, they get recognition for it. Mm-hmm. And Toshi is like, yes, I agree. Good job. My

[00:19:43] blonde child. Mm-hmm. He's like, leave it to the young and to figure out more creative solution. Yes. Yes. And then we return to poor sweet basement boy. Oh, my boy. So he returned to him. He has emerged from the alleyways onto the streets and his internal monologue is

[00:20:06] why was it only me that suffered? Because he's obviously been abused and isolated. And the only thing he knows is that he suffered and everyone else is smiling. So obviously, yep, that's what

[00:20:18] isolation does to you. It gives you a skewed view of others. Yep. And we see a bit of what's going on with his work from his dark fingertips. There's like blood or darkness kind of coming out and

[00:20:33] like a shape shifting work is. Yeah, it seems like concentrated around his fingers. Mm-hmm. It's not clear. And it also, it doesn't look fun. So you know, it definitely looks scary.

[00:20:45] And it like, it's like crawling up his arm. Yes. But I've no idea what it is. Yes. As as that's happening and old woman like reaches out to him. And she sees his face, which is a little messed up even with just

[00:21:01] even like I think like the shape shifting that's kind of spread into his face a little bit. So he looks very scary. He doesn't look approachable. And we realize that this is the granny who

[00:21:13] abandoned Tango on the street. Mm-hmm. And she did really think that hero was going to come by and help the kid. But she never like really stuck around to find out for sure, so she doesn't know if

[00:21:25] the kid was helped. Yeah, and it's been haunting her ever since. Ever since. Yes. And so like as she's interacting with this second scary child presumably, she lets him know that Izuka Midoria like essentially showed the world. Well, I think that's Hawks talking because he's got his little

[00:21:48] stick. Oh, yeah that makes sense. I was like why is she holding out a pocket to this kid? So he switched to Hawks again narrating over this moment and he's talking about how Izuka is or Midoria demonstrated that essentially if you're doing something you're doing good.

[00:22:05] Mm-hmm. Yeah, we all need to be involved. We all need to be supporting each other. You know, we can't keep putting the burden on a few so everyone else can take a back seat. Yeah, we can't

[00:22:15] keep doing nothing. So everyone has to reach out. So with that like narration over it, the granny reaches out to the kid to like help the kid and then we paned back and we see

[00:22:28] Izuka and Ochoko witnessing this. They see the granny reaching out to the kid and the granny says you'll be just signed because Granny is here to help and the poor sweet basement boy starts to cry

[00:22:45] and Tanya is also there with Izuka and Ochoko. They're presumably on some sort of patrol or just out helping with the reconstruction. So they saw the kid and presumably the granny's going to take this kid over to these three because they are heroes

[00:23:03] within sight and she's going to actually do something to make sure the kid is taking care of. Or like maybe there's like some place that she can take him to and originally Izuka and Ochoko were going to step in and take him. But now that granny's done that,

[00:23:17] they're free to do something else. Yeah. So it's just kind of left a little open enough to see everything's okay and everything's going to work out in this specific stance. So we have this new traumatized character on the backdrop of everyone worried about the next AFO, the next

[00:23:33] sugar hockey and we are literally shown. But yes, it is a possibility but also enough has changed that yeah, more help is out on the street. Yeah it will people who need significant help are always

[00:23:48] going to exist but as long as we provide that help, it's going to be fine. Yeah, things will shake out. Yep and we returned to Hoax's narration and we get a repeat of what he's always hoped for in that heroes will have time to kill. Yes. Great finally.

[00:24:06] Fucking rest. Yeah, granny's there to help so the kids can go take a nap and the billboards are going to be expanded and reconstruction is continuing and in theory there are going to be far more

[00:24:18] helping hands available literally hands again the theme. And that is where the chapter ends and the next chapter presumably the final chapter like we're 99% short. So the final chapter unless

[00:24:33] it's a big surprise. But the final chapter is going to be out in seven days on Sunday and I'm not ready. Oh god, I'm not either like now I'm like what's left? What's left is Baku Deku becomes

[00:24:49] yeah in kiss. That would be great. I think he's Zuko and Katsuki do need to have some sort of moment so that'll probably happen. Yep and I keep hoping that like we'll find out that actually

[00:25:02] none of the League of Elements died. And I mean there's one more chapter it could happen. We see Toga like rising from the ashes and yep yeah we find out she had like somehow transformed

[00:25:15] into the bird that she had loved when she was a little kid oh my god and she flies into a little safe area and transforms back because birds don't need that much blood that would be incredible.

[00:25:29] Yeah or Koshie you can use that if it if there's time to draw it just just give me a little credit. Man if that doesn't happen you're going to need to make a fanfic about it.

[00:25:39] Oh that's brilliant. I will I will I'll just leave up with it off the top of my head. But yeah there's definitely room for Shigi Toga and Obrough to like kind of pop back up

[00:25:53] and like because we're delusional we're delusional and it could happen again it's a superhero property that's one of the tropes that even if you presumably die you come back from the dead. That's a very common trope with superhero properties. We need the Baku Deku resolution if not kiss

[00:26:14] we need them to have a nice little conversation and also with Toshie because it's their little trio. Yes I need them to decide to like officially become hero partners and open up a hero agency together.

[00:26:27] Yes. And Koshie is like here all here's all my money go live the dream go go here's my office here's everything you need um yeah we could get a time skip that be fun. We could like the final chapter could be

[00:26:42] figuring out kind of what is going to happen to one for all now that Izuku has completed it and his narration kind of trail off when we went into Hawks' narration so there could be a little something more

[00:26:55] there. We could do good times skip I'd love to see all of them as heroes. Yeah and we like see all their new hero costumes and see if Shoto's vision was accurate um about how they all look

[00:27:10] I would like to see them find out that something has changed with one for all especially since Kotski had it and then didn't yeah I feel like something has changed in the Emperor

[00:27:22] but we have to like wait to see what happened to it um but yeah other than that of what else what else there's really not much else there's not much else we kind of covered everything I feel like

[00:27:36] we're gonna get kind of a little bit of a slideshow maybe for all the like really minor side characters maybe it's the possibility it could happen or it could end with an eraser mic wedding which is

[00:27:48] nice that'd be great. Um yeah other than that because we already got the vigilantes hook and maybe they'll try to do something cooking it to the new movie that's coming out even though

[00:28:04] technically the movie takes place before the final battle we I believe but it could tie into it somehow I don't know it's kind of it's kind of up in the air I just I just want my boys to hug or

[00:28:19] hands or lord yes or something because they are not that I need to see them with their joined agency I need to see them on the couch and like the counselor's office um and like having a nice

[00:28:34] conversation instead of kind of teasing each other they're just or also teasing each other that'd be a nice closing of the loop yeah we'll see you see um we have a week to go and I don't know if i'm going

[00:28:47] to have the strength not to look at the leaks on Wednesday slash Thursday so oh god I don't even know but yeah well all right well did that even a new anime episode to watch because they took a break this week

[00:29:02] of course they did of course they did oh lord well thank y'all for listening we're sorry we ended this on such a low energy note um but we will be back in seven days and in the meantime

[00:29:17] go beyond plus ultra and catch the fuck up bye y'all bye
