[00:00:00] Hey y'all, welcome to the latest episode of Catch The Fuck Up. I'm Furn and I'm distraught. I'm Nicole and I am a bit less distraught but still empathetic. Yeah, yeah, so today we're looking at my Hero Academia Chapter 428,

[00:00:19] the girl who loves smiles and as soon as I saw that I was like, oh, I'm not going to have a good time. I'm not going to have a good time at all.

[00:00:27] Let's see, I would say one of these days I'm going to learn to read the title first or at at all because I didn't even see the title. I was just like, I dove right in. But after this chapter there's only two more chapters left in the manga.

[00:00:45] Yes, that's that's also finally hit me emotionally and I feel very panicky whenever I think about it and my house is very clean right now. Yes, good, good. And also, oh god, yeah, also I will say I did not see

[00:01:03] a single leak this week mostly because my TikTok has been taken over by the anime, only who just saw Baca go die. Yep, so uh welcome to the suffering. Welcome anime only is what like two or a year ago

[00:01:24] to years I didn't even know how long ago it was but I I still long ago, I feel you and I'm also laughing at you because you could have caught up at any time, but she didn't. So people listening

[00:01:37] to this podcast pass that along because we know the anime only is aren't listening right now. No, and I hope they are because they're going to be very confused by this chapter.

[00:01:48] All right, well let's go ahead and just dive right in, Shalui sounds good. I feel like I had something else to say but it's gone now it's fine. All right, so we do pick up right

[00:02:00] where we left off however many freaking weeks ago it was. Oh, that was the other thing because there's only two chapters left and it has been stated multiple times from like multiple sources

[00:02:13] that it is ending on the first weekend of August. I don't think there's going to be any more breaks. Oh, God. Oh, God. Okay. Yeah, so next week will be 429 and then the very following

[00:02:29] week will be 430 if the people online have their information correct because I don't know how to find the source because it's all in Japanese and I still haven't learned that. Yep, yeah well okay cool.

[00:02:42] Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. We just have our feelings and we don't know what to do with them. So we're going to dive right into the little baby first years. No, there's so cute. Yeah, and again,

[00:02:54] I completely missed the title so this whole time I was reading it. I was like they're so cute. And I didn't mean while I'm braaced for devastation. Yep, there was no eggs for me until we'll get to it.

[00:03:07] So we pick up where we left off with the first years who had been essentially like forming a fan mob over Totoroki and Katsuki they they're like explaining what is going on in their brains and they're just fans. They're like their fans. They were excited to see them

[00:03:31] and then you get to the second panel where Totoroki and Bakugo are both hiding behind Eda. Yeah, yeah, they're like please save us Mr. President. Please save us. We don't know what to do.

[00:03:44] Yes, so Eda with his glorious presidentialness he knows exactly what to say. He comes everyone down. He's like they're they're also humans you silly children even though one year younger than them. But he basically reminds them that hey there your fellow students they're just people so can

[00:04:05] and they're also still recuperating from the extra terrestrial levels of combat they just they just had. So yep, yeah, I love the new dynamics of class two a and I just love Bakugo hiding

[00:04:23] I know I love how he's like they were running in the hallway. They were funny. They were running. He's a president. Get him. Get him away from me.

[00:04:32] I love him so much. He's so good. Yes, and Totoroki is also hiding but he's just like I'll talk to y'all but like one at a time you're freaking me out with this group which is very autistic, very on brand.

[00:04:45] All right, so with that the first years are all terribly sorry about this and they all sort just like basically bowing and apologizing and it's it's funny. Yeah, they're so cute. They're so

[00:04:58] earnest. They're so cute. And they're like all inspired by class one a specifically the big three of class one a slash two a so they're all going to be just like those three.

[00:05:11] That's so good. I want a good bunch though. Oh, they're amazing. So then we pan out and we are back in the home room classroom. Basically, Eda is at the door telling them to get out go to their

[00:05:25] own classes and inside she'd sew and zero are chatting because they're besties. Yeah, since those got more than a few friends now. You didn't come to make friends. Yes, you did. Uh huh. Here's night dawn of them.

[00:05:42] Funny. If you count. Oh, y'all. The poor speed. Oh, y'all. Who is on sabbatical or whatever. All right. So um she and so essentially thought that Boko go was going to be like all for this crowd.

[00:05:55] He's like yeah, yeah, yeah. And Sarah's like no, not really especially not that many. This is just as not his scene. Yeah, when has he ever reacted well to praise ever or crowds? Like that's not

[00:06:11] it's usually seen as part of the whole picture of the like arrogant bad boy character. Uh, I'm going to keep you though. He is not he is not that he's literally just their

[00:06:22] to fight. Yeah, he's just their to fight and he's grumpy about everyone. Uh huh. He is not there for fame. That is not his thing. Nope. And then with that we go to Denki who is very jealous. Must be nice. Must be

[00:06:39] nice to have so many adoring fans. It's okay. And then Izuku makes a very interesting comment. Yeah. He makes the comment that girls have always kept their distance from Kachan. So he's not really used to female attention and then the little talk about that bubble under it.

[00:07:01] He says I've known him for years. Mm hmm. This is a very interesting way to phrase that because there are also dudes in the fan crowd and presumably those that don't conform to the gender binary.

[00:07:14] But it's not just a bunch of fan girls there. There's dudes, there's other students and I'm like, is it good? Why are you fixated on back go not caring about the female attention and not

[00:07:26] being used to it? Is like because they're gay. They're so gay for each other. Good god. And then we have she and so, like kind of joining their conversation. And then we have the great

[00:07:37] bitch also jealous of the attention that they are getting specifically from the female students. And he makes the comment that bad boys should not get the girl. And it's like, sir, you're your

[00:07:48] trope blindness, please. You know, so, is that? Oh god. Hey, yeah. Hey, Mina, can we can we do another round of brain leads? Please. It's like, Mina, I know I know you're busy with your new horns or whatever

[00:08:00] went on with your work awakening. But please, can we get him back in the chair? Yes. Yes. All right. So, so, so, I could go yells at the first years to leave again and they start to do that. But one

[00:08:12] student steps out from the crowd and he's he calls out to Madoria, Send Pie because he's a Send Pie now. And I, my little, my little broccoli seemed your class student and I love him. No, I know. He said,

[00:08:27] he's not a little baby first here anymore. He's growing up. He's a little baby middle class trial. It's person and I love him. All right. So, one of the fan girls of the class step out

[00:08:40] and calls out to EZUQ and let's him know that that EZUQ specifically gave him all kinds of courage and he made the student feel like he had to and was able to basically stand up and like contribute

[00:08:53] to it and that's essentially why he's joined the hero course or joined UA. So, yeah, because EZUQ does inspire people and he inspires them in a much better way, personally. Yes. And he's doing great

[00:09:09] and the person who stepped out, it looks like it's a dude or at least male presenting. The hair is kind of reminiscent, a little bit of like, it kind of looks like his face is a combination of

[00:09:23] knots without an inch and so. A little bit that doesn't mean anything at all. I'm just trying to like connect. There's just been really so many ways to draw a character. Yeah, I'm trying to

[00:09:33] specific style. Yes, and I'm like trying to see if he might be related to anybody or anything like that. It's not clear the only thing we can really see about him is that presumably because

[00:09:43] of his quirk, he's got stuff going on in his fingers. But that's that's that's Midori is little cool high for how you pronounce it. And it's his little buddy. Yep. All right. And then you

[00:09:55] turn the page and you're immediately sat again. Yeah. So even as the student is like letting EZUQ know how much he like motivated him and inspired him. And EZUQ said he's only thinking about how

[00:10:10] spinner called him a murderer. And so yeah, I can't take this praise. I am a murderer. I deserve it. I don't know what to do with this pain in my tats. So I'm just going to keep it here

[00:10:23] and any, and the only people who are going to know is the audience because my eyes are not as shiny as they should be. Mm-hmm. Poor baby. God that's like all he's dreamed of forever

[00:10:34] is to be inspiring like that. And oh, and oh, this hurts. Horacosia hates you so much. Horacosia how dare you show the freedom and humanity of what defeating villains actually look like. Couldn't we have just had like a super happy ending where nobody dies and nothing hurts?

[00:10:51] I mean, we still have two chapters left. I know something happened could happen. I guess. So like with that, Maneta says stupid shit and also it's Kira Shima defense, Bakugo is secondary boyfriend. So that's nice. But then you go over to the girls who are all

[00:11:14] chatting on their side and you see Oraka basically just like watching this whole exchange go down as she's like listening to everything that's going down. And she's just thinking it's just kind of that she's thinking. Yes, because I didn't read the title as well. Because I didn't read

[00:11:36] the title. I was like Horacosia. You were not about to bring Usito Ocho back or however it's pronounced. Is it true? Yeah. Well, well, we'll get to it. Just like Sir, no, we were done with that. And

[00:11:51] with Adia was all right. So with that, that scene ends. They presumably start their class and they get on with their day. We got a quick jump to the staff room where Azala present Mike and Eto Plaza

[00:12:02] are at their work stations discussing media opportunities basically that everyone wants to interview class 2A and Eto Plaza comments that some of the students would be open to doing these interviews, particularly Mneta because he's a bitch. Yeah. But Azala makes the comment that there are

[00:12:22] other students who specifically really do not want to do interviews. And so they are going to take priority because it's a good dad. And that is the right decision because the last thing we need to do

[00:12:32] right now is valorize very specific people and place all of the credit and thus all of the responsibility on their shoulders because that's what's going to start this whole cycle over again.

[00:12:45] So yeah, maybe just let them just leave them alone. Yeah, I know you have a job to do. But like there are plenty of other things you can be reporting on right now. I promise. Yep, you really can.

[00:12:58] And also President Mike is there. He also looks expensive with his husband, Isala. We still know what's going on with Obrough if anything. So that's rude. But then we go on to the rest of the

[00:13:09] day and the class has been brought out to do reconstruction duty. So they are going to help the rebuilding process and we get a quick shot of Eto Kuz Newcaste because he got to get a whole new one

[00:13:20] because we got to make it by the end of the line. It looks like it looks like his old one, but then like his gym shirt. Yeah. I mean it might be because he totally lost his shirt, but he still had

[00:13:33] pants. I think. Yeah. So he's just his shirt. This isn't like a gun and in between costume. This is just what he's wearing for now probably. Yeah, and he's so cute. And so at the site they are basically

[00:13:47] teaming up with Fat Gum and best genus because hell yeah. And best genus neck is still weirdly long. Yeah. So you're going to be. All right. And then Kira Shima is there and he's excited to work with

[00:14:04] Fat Gum and Hagakare and Tokuyami are also there giving him a hug and they're all excited because also they're remembering the Fat Taxi and it's wonderful. It's great. And also Sun Eater is there

[00:14:18] because he's officially fat Gum's sidekick now that he's graduated. Yeah, oh my god. That is just Jesus Christ. Okay. All the good feelings. All the, all the, yes. Yes. And then best genus

[00:14:33] basically start stalking everyone around. He does have a new belt buckle. It doesn't say BJ anymore. Correct. I too bad. And so the class proceeds to start the cleanup. They gather all the

[00:14:47] metal. They start clearing the ground because they have to start with a nice flat surface to rebuild. And Izuku is shown to still have some of his work strength. So yeah, he's, he's pushing things

[00:14:59] around that he probably shouldn't be pushing too easily. Right. So he's got something. He's still in fact, does have the embers just like all might had his embers for at least a couple of months.

[00:15:11] So he still has something going on and then we switch over to best genus who's using his work to do something off screen. And he says quite the damage denim or two. And I'm talking to

[00:15:25] Bakugo. He has to stick with his with his theme. Yeah, sure. I know it's your brand, but also I need you to like work a little bit harder because that makes no sense at all. But yeah, so

[00:15:42] Bakugo is still recovering. He literally cannot do hard physical labor because of his heart. So he's doing light lifting. He's like taking trash bags where they should be. And Bakugo, he doesn't answer best genus because he doesn't need to because he's a king. Instead,

[00:16:01] he asks somebody. So you're still a pipsquake. And then we find out, egg shot is there. He's just, he's just took me. But no he has hands. This is the best thing ever. I'm sorry. This is amazing.

[00:16:18] He's a worm but he's fine. He's great. He doesn't have any like brain damage or nerve damage or anything like that. He's just still small and he will presumably grow as he continues to

[00:16:31] recover and essentially gain more cells. Like he has to literally make his body again. So we have to grow. He has to, yeah, it's going to take a while. Oh man, that's so great. I'm sorry. I'm still

[00:16:44] not over all the, would you still love me if I was a worm jokes? Like, and I do still love you as shot. I will never not love you. You're so cute. And I'm glad. Like he was always such a serious hero.

[00:16:56] Like he was a bad ass but he was very serious. And now he's a worm. Yes. And it's so great. And then on this panel, we do also get a shot. We do see that Katsuki also has his own

[00:17:08] scar. Matching his husband's other same side of his face because their husband's and matching. He does ask at shot if he's ever going to be back to normal because obviously Katsuna's whole thing is that he feels guilty when others sacrifice themselves to save him.

[00:17:26] But Edja is like, from the outset, even if I had not been basically the one to save you, if that wasn't part of my mission that day, I was still going to go full out all the way. So

[00:17:41] I'm great. I'm fine. He doesn't mention if he's going to actually get back to his full size or anything like that. He's just like, I'm great. I have hands now everything's fine. We

[00:17:52] want. He's like, yeah, we fucking won my sacrifices worth it and it's not about you, buddy. Yeah, because I would have done that for anyone regardless exactly. And that is exactly what

[00:18:04] Katsuki needed to hear. Because we see him smile and his lips are a little shaky but he's he's good now. He's like settled. He doesn't have to worry about that. Yeah, that one specific thing

[00:18:15] has been addressed. Yep. So then they continue their work. Ochocho is still being a badass flying around with all her little wires and everybody's doing their work. And then the people who lived on that specific property get together and make lunch for everybody because they're so

[00:18:34] grateful that they're so sweet. And they like let the kids know that's like, we saw you all fighting and we're like, you were amazing. So we're going to contribute as well. Again, just perpetuity

[00:18:46] the theme of somebody does something and somebody else is influenced to do this same and everybody helps and everything's great. And it's a wonderful show. No one can do everything but everyone can

[00:18:56] do something. Yes. Yes. And it's great. And EZuku's still feeling a little guilty. But we can't talk about that right now because some of my dogs shows up in a box. Also real quick, we have to

[00:19:10] talk about how EZuku looks to still be rocking his little ponytail but he's very specifically got his hair emo style over his now missing eye. Yes. The branding isn't peckable. Also,

[00:19:24] you're very silly. Oh, he's still so hot. Oh, nice. Amazing. I love him. All right. So it turns out cementous is either the gym teacher of or the home room teacher of the other the new class A

[00:19:38] or whatever that freshman class is and he's like they begged me to come apologize to them again and I couldn't say no because they were freakishly earnest about it and they made me say hi.

[00:19:51] So here we are. They were really cute. What did you want me to do? Yeah. They're so cute. So they again apologize to the class as one and they assist with the reconstruction effort as well. Just doing like, presumably just stuff regular folks can do

[00:20:10] basically habitat for humanity while the two-way kids actually use their quirks and act can do a little bit more. Yeah. Yeah. So with that as that is all coming around everyone's happy and everyone's great. We see EZuku still pensive, still pondering, still angsty. Yeah. And then

[00:20:34] he's standing with Sue and Ochoco and Ochoco notices or rather Sue notices that Ochoco is also still being pensive, still being a little quiet, still not quite being herself. And she hmm because these two have the same damn personality. Yeah and so Ochoco says things are getting

[00:20:54] better. What a relief. And like they both know that she's bullshitting them. Yep. But she runs off to get everybody food and like pretends that nothing's wrong but they know they know. Yeah. Oh my poor sweet child. There's their such babies and EZuku particularly like notices.

[00:21:18] Like he clocks something's going on with her just like something is going on with him. Mm-hmm. So later that night we do find out that they're not all basically it's not house arrested but they like released all the restrictions on the dorm. So people can go home

[00:21:35] you're not required to live in the dorms. You can choose between dorms or staying with your family. Yep. And we find out that Ochoco has chosen to go home for a bit. It's not clear if she's

[00:21:47] going to come back to the dorm or if she's going to stay living with her folks or if it's just a temporary thing. But we also find out that she's not been answering Sue's texts.

[00:21:57] I do know, Sue looks so upset. I love how much she loves her friends and she just she gets so worked up whenever she knows there's something wrong but that she doesn't

[00:22:10] know how to address it and I just it's so sweet and so relatable like she just cares so much. She said to baby, she wants her friends to be happy and she knows when something is wrong. But they won't let her help and she's mad but also sad.

[00:22:26] All right. So with that we leave the dorm and we go to where Ochoco is and she has returned to that kind of outlook spot where she and EZQ had their conversation before the final fight.

[00:22:38] And she's looking out over the city's gate that has now been pretty well rebuilt. But she is also remembering what happened in her battle. We do find out that the camera crew that was essentially filming everything when they basically got back into the chopper,

[00:22:58] they find out that their batteries died. So everything that happened at the end of the Toga Ochoco fight and that scene, the ending was not recorded. So no one saw Toga save Ochoco's life. Yep. And no one like really knows everything that happened back then.

[00:23:16] And I took that to mean that nobody knows for sure what happened to Toga because there were no cameras watching her after the point where we presume she might have died saving Ochoco.

[00:23:30] That could be too. I did wonder about that. So that's where my hope is coming from. But we will find out. Yep. Hopefully. Yeah, but more importantly, Ochoco is a feeling of very

[00:23:43] very angsty about that fact that nobody saw the end of their fight. And she and the one hand she is happy that things are getting back to normal, the things are rebuilding things are very

[00:23:54] slowly getting better. And then her eyes start to water and she admits that she doesn't want to be a party pooper. Oh my baby, my honey, this is not a party, this is recovery after

[00:24:10] a butt ton of war in like two hours. So it's okay to be sad when no one else is sad or appears to be sad. It's fine. You don't know what they're like when they're alone. Yep. Yep. So she flashes

[00:24:23] back to Porsuit Toga when they were having their understanding moment when she was smiling and crying and they were like both together. They were on the same wavelength. They were pledging their

[00:24:32] undying love to each other. Yeah. And they're like, you're both so pretty. I love you back and forward. It was great. It was awful. Yeah. So because Ochoco does it want to inflict her sadness

[00:24:45] on others which like do do inflict your sadness on others if you need you. She's going to try to shut all of her bad feelings away even as she is sobbing. Nope. Nope. Nope. Not a good idea

[00:24:59] of hunt like yeah, maybe your feelings are a little bit too big for your teenage friends to deal with but then like you find a trusted adult or like a trained professional or something like

[00:25:10] or also there are still options out there to release your feelings. You don't have to button it up. Yes. And also you can release them to multiple people because if you haven't noticed you have like

[00:25:21] 2021, very good friends who would want you to want to help you with your emotional burdens. So I'm so lonely and you are very upset with you for not coming to them. Yes. It's like they

[00:25:32] don't want you to button it up. And therefore they know that something is going on. So you turned to the last page where we basically pan out from Urukka crying over the hilltop

[00:25:46] and bent over. And so her hair got a little messy. So I thought it was Toga. Oh, I thought I thought somehow it was Toga and she had been disguised as Otakao.

[00:25:59] But no my god that would have been a twist with this emotional breakdown. She wasn't able to hold it and so her Toga face came back out but it's Otakao. She is the one still there and she is still crying.

[00:26:10] Yeah, but I'm sure the similarity from a distance isn't a coincidence. Yeah, I'm sure I'm like it's very purposeful I'm sure. Or it could be Toga. We don't know because this is where

[00:26:23] the chapter ends. But it does end with Otakao crying and being very sad and Ezuku arriving at the scene and calling her name because she knew something was wrong and he also knew where to find

[00:26:37] her and I'm still angry that Harkoshi may be trying to make Ezuto happen. But I mean, we'll see we'll see. I do notice that Ezuku is surrounded by lightning. Yeah, he still has his quirk. He's still got his embers. So yeah, he's got the really fast.

[00:26:54] Yeah, he's sped all the way to her. Oh, oh, these poor kids. I definitely do think this Hark to Hark will be good. I think it's still going to be focused on Otakao. And then Ezuku is

[00:27:08] probably going to end the conversation with like, I don't know. I have a feeling that their conversation is going to lead to Ezuku's conversation with Hatsuki. Yes, yep. And it's all going to

[00:27:19] come to a head perhaps that I always goodbye party or some other setting because there's still a lot of stuff to cover if we want to indeed like kind of catch up with every single character. Now in this

[00:27:33] space of two chapters, I don't think we're going to catch up with every single character, which is which is rude but also fine. I guess because I mean Harkoshi can always just like give us information

[00:27:47] after the story itself is ended. Um, or he could just leave it up to our imagination? Yeah, or he could do that. And I don't know which one I want more. I just want all the information laid

[00:27:57] out nicely and I want Bakudeko to be canon. Anyway, so that's it for that chapter. We now are down to only two chapters left and then the movie and then there will be no new content to fix it on.

[00:28:12] Yeah, out there. It's so man. Yeah. We'll need to find out when the movie is actually releasing in American theaters because it's like it cuts coming out in August but then it's not going to be

[00:28:24] here till November. I don't know which is which and I eat it now. So we'll see on that. Yeah, yep. Yeah. But yeah, I think this next chapter is going to be interesting. I do wonder if

[00:28:38] ultimately the plan for Ochocho is that her crush on Izuku helps her to understand herself better and also her crush on Toga. Yes, yes exactly. She might actually admit that she has a crush on Toga.

[00:28:52] Uh-huh. Yeah. That would be that would be wild. She'd be like, beauty dubs. Yeah. I had a crush on you but now this thing with this girl is happening and um what do because she's either dead or gone or whatever.

[00:29:06] I don't know. And I don't know what to do with my feelings and there's so much bigger than when I had a crush on you. You're still a little school boy. Uh-huh and he's like, oh this is a lot. Okay.

[00:29:14] It's like, oh this is a lot where are the queer elders that I can get for Ochochocho? I don't know where they are. Oh, she. Yeah. Oh man. And then Katsuki is going to roll up and be like,

[00:29:27] why are you both crying? What is going on? What is going on? And then and then he kisses his husband and everyone's happy. Uh, but yeah. So we got updates on quite a few folks but again we don't

[00:29:41] know for sure what's going on with O'BRO if he lived or died or if it's unclear. Yeah, we still have no idea what's going on with the random stranger. Yep. The new character that was introduced very mysteriously. Yeah. Potentially new character. Yeah. Potentially new character. Yeah.

[00:29:58] It could be an older character now looking very different. We will see. Um, but yeah it's just more emotional punches after comic relief moments because again it is a shonen. It is. It is. It is. And I

[00:30:14] did check the app. It's coming out in seven days. Yeah. So yeah I think you're right. No more breaks. No more breaks. So these next two weeks. Yay. And also with where the anime is we're not even going to get any

[00:30:27] relief from all these ceilings. Because Baga Goja's died and these the other arcs around Baga Goja's dying. They're not fun either. Oh, great. Except for Mirio's butt. I think we're going to see

[00:30:39] Mirio's butt soon if not in the most recent episode because I haven't watched it. I was waiting to watch it until after this chapter dropped. Yeah. I need to catch up again on a couple episodes

[00:30:49] behind but yeah I really hope we get to see me here. It was fun because that whole part is very funny. It's hilarious and perfect. I feel like it might be closer to when Izuku gets back to Skyhai

[00:31:03] because him moaning shigi was part of the emotional breakdown that Izuku then kind of bounced on. So yeah I don't know anyone like you can't remember how everything ended up. There's far too many

[00:31:15] chapters. Yeah. Two keep tracks. Yes. Yes. Oh God. Oh. I could ramble on and on about everything. But is there anything else specific to this chapter? No. I say we go ahead and wrap this up. Yes.
