[00:00:00] Hey y'all, welcome to the latest episode of Catch the Fuck Up. I'm Fern. I'm Nicole and I'm happy but very confused. Yes, yes. Today we're looking at My Hero Academia, Chapter 425, Unseasonable, which oh man, there is so much. Just the first page and you're already overwhelmed.

[00:00:20] Yep, there's a lot going on and it's very misleading. Just a little. Oh, all right. Well, shall we dive in? Yes, let's do it. All right, so we pick up where we left off what felt like a year ago. Was it a week or two weeks?

[00:00:42] I don't even know. It was just a week. Oh my god. I know, right? Okay, so we pick up where we left off a week ago and the kids are back at UA and apparently they are back to celebrate the graduating class of seniors.

[00:01:01] Yep, school is finally back in session. Yep, and we start with the graduation of our lovely seniors, Tomiki and Hato. They are okay. They're on their feet. We officially know they're fine. Yes, yes, Tomiki is still himself.

[00:01:19] Yep, he's still trying to think of everyone as potatoes and Najarae is also herself and she's excited and everyone is sad that the pretty lady is leaving. All the boys are like, no, no, our queen. Adorable, adorable. This is such whiplash from last week.

[00:01:36] I can't get over it. It really is. It's wild. All right, so with that we switch over to present Mike who is also okay. He's on his feet. He's great. He explains that the ceremony was delayed, obviously, because it's usually when the cherry blossoms start falling

[00:01:57] and he's wearing a tie. I just noticed. I know, right? Yeah, he's DJing the event because apparently UA graduation is a concert. Yes, it's like a party and a festival and a concert instead of just the boring pomp and circumstance, which is amazing. Yeah, this is hilarious.

[00:02:19] All right, so we get a peek at the 1A students who are all there cheering them on. They got to graduate in June, which is apparently later than usual, whereas here in America, June is pretty normal for graduation. Yeah, yeah, it's so funny.

[00:02:36] And then they, and then we have Najarae and her girlfriend all excited and Tomiki's like, your injury is okay because of course they're still like recovering because it's only been a week. Right? Yep, yep.

[00:02:51] So with that we get a little bit of narration, a little bit of background because apparently Nezu, the fucking rat that I hate, is also apparently globally renowned for his work in quirk ethics. Yeah, which I guess makes sense considering his backstory.

[00:03:13] Right. Yeah, it's kind of funny because he's just been like a side character that we don't know that much about so that's kind of hilarious. And it turns out he has all the other foreign countries on string for himself

[00:03:26] because he was like, he had to make sure that everybody got their graduation, which is nice, but he's still a fucking crazy rat. He's a man of many facets. Yes. Rat of many facets. A rat of many, a rat man.

[00:03:41] Because they do call him a man and it's not confusing. It's just a lot happening. I love also that one panel where it's like the graduates, they're used to all this craziness. The new third years are like, oh, okay, yeah. Whereas the new second years are like, what?

[00:04:00] Yeah, they're like, what the actual fuck is going on, which is valid because I'm also confused. Yes, yes. They are very taken aback at the party atmosphere. Yes. So now that the diplomas have been handed out,

[00:04:14] we have a quick word from the new student body president who is a rising senior. Her name is Mawata Fuwa and she was essentially the class president of like 2A and now she's going to be like, I don't know how it works. Yeah, we don't, whatever. She's there.

[00:04:33] And then we get, she's there. She's making a speech. Apparently the speech is like a rap battle for some reason. At least that's what Mike keeps referring to it as because he's got to stay on theme. Yeah, it's utterly ridiculous.

[00:04:48] I can't wait to see how it's actually like animated and like what is actually going on. It's great. All right. And then we get a peek of class 1B who are also confused but into it. And then after Mawata sits down, the former student body president

[00:05:07] steps up to say a few words and it turns out it's freaking Muriel. All this time he was the freaking class president. Uh-huh. I don't know. That kind of makes sense. Oh yeah. That's his own form of charisma. Yeah, it makes total sense.

[00:05:21] But also we could have, did we know that? I don't know. Well, we do now. Yep. All right. So with that, he takes the stage and instead of doing one of his stupid little Muriel jokes,

[00:05:34] he begins a very somber and important speech and the entire student body is just flabbergasted. But basically also he's okay. So now we know that most of the folks in what is referred to as the coffin in the sky are okay.

[00:05:54] We haven't seen Mirko or Edshot or Best Genius, but I'm assuming they're okay too. Might still be in the hospital because they got a little banged up. Yeah, yeah. Edshot is a worm. Yeah, he has to like regrow somehow. I don't know. I don't know how that works.

[00:06:13] Yep. So with that, Muriel makes a very nice speech about how they as heroes, heroes, they haven't gained anything at all even though they've lost so much. They've essentially set everything back to square one and now is the time to keep pushing

[00:06:31] and keep making an effort to make a positive impact on society, which is really nice. Keep these changes going. Yes. We've still got work to do. We're not done, which is like, yes, yes, sir. Keep it going. There's also a quick shot of Izuku.

[00:06:50] Looking between his legs and I was very confused for like 30 seconds. I had to zoom back up to the top of that panel where there's the scene where it's like womp, womp, womp and everybody apparently just fell backwards because they were so flabbergasted in Shonen.

[00:07:07] So I was like, oh, oh, I see. He's actually looking up. His feet are just still in the air. Okay. Yep. I'm with you now. Yeah, the visual gags are hard to... This is a very interestingly drawn chapter. A lot is crammed into very small panels.

[00:07:22] It is going to be... It is going to look great animated and I can't wait. So with that, Murio finishes his speech. Everyone is very impressed and then he jumps out of his clothes and there's suddenly

[00:07:35] a parade float there of the beauty queen and everybody's cheering again and he's wearing some sort of costume? I think he's wearing his hero costume because it looks like it says La Million across... That million sign across the front. Okay. I thought it was...

[00:07:50] So it's like his costume without the cape. I thought it was leather hot pants and a bikini. So that makes more sense. Happy pride, but... I guess we'll find out. The hero costume makes logical sense. I want it to be a bikini top and leather pants, but anyway.

[00:08:13] With that, graduation is over. Everybody's happy and they go to start their new term in their new classroom, which is called 2A Temporary. Yeah, they're still in the same classroom when they probably shouldn't be, but everyone's just like... Just stay real. We don't need to move rooms.

[00:08:32] Y'all are fine. We find out that Aizawa is going to be their homeroom teacher for their second year as well. Thank you, Horikoshi. He knew we wanted that. Yes, we need them all together and he better be their homeroom teacher in third year as well.

[00:08:49] But we'll get to it. So basically it's their first day back in their little classroom. It's so sweet. Everybody is so excited to be there. And Aizawa is just trying to get through his orientation. Yeah, he's just like, oh god, these kids and their nonsense once again.

[00:09:07] Take me back to the war, please. Take me back to the war where I could do nothing, but also... A moment of appreciation for the Aizawa ponytail. Yes, yes, yes, sir. Very angsty, very hot.

[00:09:23] So with that, everybody's excited and then we switch over to Katsuki who is in class. He should be in the hospital, but it's fine. He's just taking it easy. And he says like the dust really has settled, huh? Like it's hitting him and then Sarah...

[00:09:41] This is finally over. Okay. And then Sarah was like, shouldn't you be in the hospital? And then Bakugo, he continues this very calm and logical conversation. He's like, it's fine. The doctor says it's fine as long as I take it easy.

[00:09:55] And then Sarah was like, that's weirdly sensible. I don't like it. And then Bakugo yells at him. So everything's back to normal which is so weird because we've been at war for three fucking years it feels like. Oh my God. All right.

[00:10:16] So with that, Aizawa gets the classroom back under control for a second to allow Aoyama to walk in and be reunited. But no, this is the first downer of the chapter. Aoyama is actually leaving UA and I'm sad and everybody is sad

[00:10:36] and understanding and they want him to stay but they... Okay. So Aoyama is leaving UA. It is confirmed that Sukouji and Sensei and all the judicial powers that be, I suppose, were like, yeah, you can return to school. You can still be enrolled. It's fine.

[00:10:58] But Aoyama being his new very noble self, he basically explains that his matriculation to UA specifically was a machination of all for one. So he doesn't feel right staying at the school. Yeah, he doesn't feel like he truly earned it.

[00:11:18] Right, which is like, it's very nice, it's very noble, it's very understandable considering how his life has been up until now. I want him to stay but I understand... I want him to stay too but I can understand him being like,

[00:11:32] I want to get off this path that someone else set for me. Exactly. On my mom's path and I'm glad that it was his choice. That's really important to me. That's very important.

[00:11:40] So as much as we and also the other students want him to stay in the class, he is going to go off and do kind of his own thing. He's going to a tone, he's going to do

[00:11:50] whatever he can do to make himself feel worthy of standing with them again in the future, which is very sweet. I can't tell if he's going to try to get into UA again and just start back at square one

[00:12:02] or if he's going to go to a different school or take a completely different path, I really don't know. It's not clear and honestly it doesn't have to be. All it really says is that he's going to a tone and once more walk the path of a hero.

[00:12:15] So I feel like he's making his own path. Whatever that looks like for him. Yeah and we're just gonna miss him and his cheese. I love that little panel of Izuku remembering him shoving cheese in his face. He's like, oh the cheese.

[00:12:31] I feel like Aoyama is giving him one last piece of cheese but sure. Oh yeah you're right he literally is because he, yep okay, yep I got it. Oh that's hysterical. Adorable, I love them and he does promise that he will return to their group.

[00:12:49] He's going to be back as soon as he has figured out what's going on and then everybody is sad but like happy and understanding and respectful and they're all starting to cry and then Aoyama is Aoyama so he freaks out.

[00:13:04] He fires off a bunch of lasers to get everybody to like not be sad. Yeah yeah he's like wait wait no no no light show. It's fine, it's fine we're not crying it's happy and then and then

[00:13:19] um it continues somebody says and there's now a surprise we have a new member of class A, Shizo. And of course the kids just like totally rush at him and he's like whoa whoa yeah he's like he's

[00:13:37] like whoa whoa whoa and also Aoyama is like um excuse me the attention is still supposed to be on me. It's wonderful, it's wonderful. It's also really funny to be reading this chapter right after yesterday's episode

[00:13:52] which was um how Shizo and Aoyama like kind of essentially teamed up to trick AFO and they were talking about what Shizo was going to do like was he going to be in class

[00:14:03] A or B and we get we get the answer and it's like oh oh oh. Mariko-shi I know you planned all this on purpose and I hate you and I love you. Bitch but yes Aoyama is leaving UA for now he may come back later

[00:14:18] and so Shizo is taking the empty space and um with that we switch over to the great bitch unfortunately um who has who has turned away from what's going on and we we see that sweet Hagakure who has like been hit by Aoyama's laser show.

[00:14:42] It caused her quirk to to like essentially fritz out again it's bugging out according to her and so she's now visible and she's like no no don't look at me don't perceive me god damn

[00:14:52] it oh uh relatable oh so relatable and um freaking great bitch is just gobsmacked that Hagakure is pretty pretty yes she's a cutie as she's she's so she's so cute and then um

[00:15:09] Aizawa finally does it in a timely fashion he shuts the great bitch up with his scarf and he's like shut up yeah no no no no no so I think he needs another round of uh

[00:15:20] brainwashing from Mina yes yes yeah yeah for sure the original has worn off there's a lot been going on truthfully but yeah we do need another round so with those announcements there are still more announcements to come and um Mawotafua returns to their class and makes

[00:15:39] like announcements for what's going to be going on going forward for the student body and she's essentially in charge of organizing the students contributions to like the restoration effort that is still ongoing yes which honestly is a pretty good use of their time

[00:15:56] because like what there's not that many classes they could take at this point like they still need to learn like procedural stuff and like you know laws and ethics but as far as like all

[00:16:07] their practical courses they've like good this is a good substitution yeah they've like essentially tested out of all their physical education quirk classes yes so now they're like instead of instead of work studies they're going to be doing community service and

[00:16:21] they're like yes let's do that all right so with that um they basically just say and that's how it's going to be like this is it's going to be a chaotic time but we're going to do everything we can and then we are reminded that Mawotafua was actually

[00:16:38] Aizawa's student the year before so like when they were freshmen he was their homeroom teacher and we are reminded that Aizawa did in fact expel their entire class hilarious i love it um i also love his little embarrassed face where he's like you know yeah

[00:16:57] you're welcome whatever it's like yeah get out of here don't let them know i have a soft spot yeah also i like Shoto's point that all for one was born during an incredibly chaotic time

[00:17:09] where there was no structure or leadership or anything like that so it's good that they've done what i wish other people would do and looked back on history and learned their lesson and were like okay let's not repeat those circumstances yeah he's like they're like

[00:17:25] people in need of help we're going to do that yes we're going to actively work to make sure history does not repeat itself yes yes i would love that thank you and then Mawotafua leaves after her announcements she calls Aizawa Yura-sensei like Eraserhead-sensei adorable new

[00:17:44] nickname i thought it was Era-sensei and i was like wait what because they were just talking about Eras but then i'm like oh it's his name you're all silly they are all right so

[00:17:57] with that we get a shot of Yuzuku um looking very pensive he's very pensive he's thinking thoughts um but then we it looks like we kind of fast forward to the end of the day and they're

[00:18:09] all leaving class and they're like talking about what's going to be going on they're realizing that they are going to be the senpais going forward and it's really cute and everybody's teasing Ochako because she made that big speech about them having like time to rest yep yep and

[00:18:25] then um Yuzuku he goes talk to Uraraka and then Uraraka makes a comment on his haircut and she's like they gave you half an undercut i hope it grows back fast which

[00:18:38] rude no i think he looks cute i think he looks adorable he looks fine um but with that we also see that Tokoyami apparently also has a new hairstyle which is not purposeful um it basically

[00:18:54] looks like his hair feather whatever is going on it's like all fluffy instead of kind of styled like it had been yeah i love how he's like i don't hate it so whatever yes it's like it's

[00:19:06] fine and then with that the confusion starts yes okay sort of i have theories we'll see yeah we're it it's meant to be a little unclear of what's going on here so with Uraraka mentioning like they're all talking about haircuts we leave UA and go to someone else

[00:19:28] and it is someone else who also looks like they are cutting their hair we don't know who this person is um they have dark hair they are crying uh they look like they're on the younger

[00:19:43] so like teenager or younger and they have something on their face like a mask or a muzzle yeah and also they're like their fingers are very charred looking yes and so you go to the

[00:19:56] next page on the next panel they are walking forward um they have like it looks like they're wearing something that's kind of very restrictive and there's like strings coming out their fingers are burned or injured as they're making their way through what appears to be an area that

[00:20:15] that is still um damaged from all the fighting yep yep and then with that we jump right back to UA and like no explanations no confirmations no nothing about who this person is yep yep but

[00:20:31] i think i think it definitely has something to do with uh Todoroki's comment that like all for one was born during chaos yes yes so this is someone who is a potential chaos causer yes and

[00:20:43] like somebody that they need to help exactly so with that we're back at UA and um Izuku is asking Shoto if he's going to be coming to the farewell party because like they're having

[00:20:55] a farewell party for Aoyama and Shoto's like yes i i'm going to attend just make sure it's not today because he has something else going on so you turn to the last page of the chapter

[00:21:07] and Shoto is going somewhere and he's arriving somewhere and the last panel of the chapter it looks like it is Endeavor because it is a very large hulking man with a short haircut

[00:21:21] and a bandage around his head and he is in a wheelchair sitting in front of uh the now rather familiar window in like between the civilian and a prisoner and this prisoner is essentially kind of strapped down but with a bunch of medical equipment around them

[00:21:41] and surrounding them and it is it's very it's very shaded so you can't really see their face all you can really see is that there's a bunch of bandages around their face

[00:21:51] but i think it's pretty safe to assume that Shoto is going to visit Toya who is alive and he is basically in custody but he is getting medical treatment and he and Shoto and Endeavor

[00:22:03] are going to try to talk to Toya yes and that's where it is yep yep yep yep so as far as that other mystery person i have two theories okay one is another escapee from Tartarus who Isuku

[00:22:19] is actually going to manage to save at some point okay sure unlike Shigi or it could be Shigi yes yes um so just like we said or like you were theorizing last week or in the group chat

[00:22:35] or whatever how like this whole thing going down and how one for all was essentially transferred like to Shigi kind of even though it was kind of also destroyed we were talking about how it could have interacted with the corrupted quirk that he originally got from Overhaul

[00:22:53] and it like could have restarted the regenerative resurrective side of it so we're like he also again we never saw his corpse we never saw our funeral mm-hmm yep yep so i think there is

[00:23:06] definitely possibility for him to come back um as far as these scissors go i'm not sure if that's like hair cutting or maybe like snooping off the bindings that you see that's the only

[00:23:18] stripping me up is all the binding yeah because because like the binding like there was there wasn't really anybody at the end of it that was bound yeah um yeah like Eraserhead didn't have

[00:23:31] his scarf he didn't have anybody captured that way um Best Genist was pretty much down for the count yeah and these are very thin they're like cord almost yeah they're like clearly linked to the muzzle so yeah it could be that someone who was restrained somehow managed to

[00:23:48] cut themselves free and then now they're just wandering right presumably Izuku is going to find them yeah presumably that they are connected already so it could be Shigi with now somehow

[00:24:02] dark hair because he regenerated into a more Tenko style of hair um i wonder if it could be uh like Kurogiri or somebody else because like his neck thing could have could also had to have

[00:24:20] a muzzle or like because we don't also don't know what happened to Kurokumo like yeah he kind of faded off into the sky but maybe or it could be somebody totally new we don't know

[00:24:31] and also the app isn't telling me if we're going to get a new chapter next week so i feel like we're gonna have a break and i'm mad about that no i don't want that hold on let me refresh

[00:24:42] it one more time nope it's still not refreshing so maybe a week or maybe two weeks or maybe longer but damn it Horikoshi i have many questions oh yes yes um also we did get some

[00:24:55] fan mail from Nikki yeah um they have a lot of the same questions we have um still hoping for Shinzo's hero name i am too i think that'd be great um they also think that the mysterious

[00:25:06] person could be Shigi but not sure um they're also agreeing with us that Dobby's in like some kind of or uh Toya's in some kind of like cryogenic machine yep he's on life support yeah and then they're also wondering what's gonna happen with Hawks because presumably

[00:25:24] his quirk is gone too so yeah which i still don't think he's too upset about that but it definitely raises a question like what is he gonna do now yeah what's Hawks gonna do also

[00:25:36] where's Toga in the mix of all this where yes she needs to be alive please yeah it's like they kept they kept showing like Izuku and Uraraka and even like Katsuki acting like not really out of character but kind of quieter more pensive so i'm like

[00:25:51] is something going on there for with the Toya like doppelganger thing or is the mystery person like related to Toga or Spinner or what's going on yeah because like we don't know where

[00:26:04] Spinner is either so Spinner and Toga are still MIA right and i'm sure there are others that are just not coming to mind right now because there's so much going on but we we basically know now that Horikoshi has at least one more maybe smaller arc planned as

[00:26:22] this final epilogue like he's going to get he's essentially has said like we're going back to the title so it's going to be focused more on like actually being students again and not child soldiers yeah yeah and hopefully we'll get to see some of these restoration efforts like

[00:26:39] in action and yeah glimpses of how hero society is actively changing yeah and i could also see the arc kind of ending with Aoyama's like farewell party once this mystery person is like resolved and when they have their conversation with Toya and Toga and Spinner maybe coming back

[00:26:59] into play or having like whatever i could see the farewell party being the actual ending and we know it's not going to happen just yet because that's what i'm thinking yeah yeah but yeah i'm confused this this chapter was very um stimulating there's just a lot

[00:27:14] of information thrown at us at once which i mean we definitely needed a bit of a catch-up but right right but also we still need to know where everybody else is we got confirmation on a bunch

[00:27:24] of people thank you i need more keep it coming Horikoshi i need everybody i need statuses on every single person yes yes we want absolute final confirmation please and thank you yes yes all right well that's all i've got i i feel like i should have more thoughts

[00:27:42] but i can't verbalize them there's just so many possibilities of where this final arc epilogue is going to go so that's all i have for now maybe maybe with the next chapter we'll have

[00:27:55] enough to like speculate more but it's just like they're back in school and it's nice but things are also still happening yes yeah that's pretty much all we got all right well
