[00:00:24] I know. Oh my god. So today we're looking at My Hero Academia chapter 420 Blazit.
[00:00:34] Called From Aizawa and the emotions. The feelings, the emotions. How dare you work,
[00:00:42] Hoshi? Uh huh. Uh huh. How dare you but also thank you for the food.
[00:00:46] Yeah. Oh god. It's such a feast. Yes. Thank you sir. All right. Shall we dive in?
[00:00:54] Yeah. Let's let's do it. All right. So we do indeed almost kind of pick up where we left off.
[00:01:02] It was as we predicted or one of our predictions. We essentially rewound just a couple minutes.
[00:01:10] We don't know how many. So Riko she didn't tell us unlike the other chapters where he told us.
[00:01:16] Sure. Anyway, but we do rewind just a little bit to when President Mike Aizawa and Kurakumo
[00:01:25] all fell into Kurakumo's void and they end up on an island not even an island a rock in the middle
[00:01:35] of the rock. It's just a rock in the middle of the ocean and it's raining because Horakoshi
[00:01:40] with his circularness. Uh huh. Uh huh. I think they're not in the middle of the ocean. I think
[00:01:45] we can see the shoreline but they're out there. They might as well be in the middle of the ocean
[00:01:51] for where they are compared to everything else that's going on. True. True. All right. And as
[00:01:59] they arrive there, Mike's pissed. Oh yeah. Yeah. We all know Mike is the hotheaded one who defaults
[00:02:06] to anger whenever he's sad. As he deserves to. He's got so much trauma and he's so mad.
[00:02:15] All right. So when they get there, apparently Kurakumo has like passed out or glitched out
[00:02:23] whatever metaphor you want to use and I think he's glitching. He's glitching. He's kind of out
[00:02:29] of it. He keeps repeating himself how he's the protector of Tomora Shiguraki and Mike
[00:02:36] like starts going to punch him and he's yelling and he's like you're not sure
[00:02:41] Kurakumo anymore. You're not my friend. We're relying on a corpse because stupid idea, stupid feelings.
[00:02:49] He is just, he's on a rant. He is so pissed at seeing what used to be his friend twisted into
[00:02:58] all for one's tool. He's just. And like his enemy and like the one who hurt his other friend.
[00:03:05] Mm hmm. He's got big feelings. Many big feelings. Many big feelings but Aizawa ever the logical
[00:03:13] wonderful soul that he is. He's not quite as hotheaded. He's able to like kind of look at
[00:03:20] Kurakumo without being pissed and he does stop Mike from punching Shirakumo. So that's good.
[00:03:28] Yeah, thank goodness because that would have been a weird apology later.
[00:03:33] Punch you in the face. Sorry.
[00:03:36] So he, Aizawa says that he sees tears falling from Kurakumo's face and of course Mike is also crying
[00:03:43] because again, big emotions. Oh, yeah. And he says, Oh, I'm a manly man. I'm not crying at all.
[00:03:52] So funny. Oh poor Mike. And then Aizawa in kind says not you. We're not talking about you
[00:04:00] right now, Mike, which is a bit of a problem in the relationship overall, but they'll get to it.
[00:04:05] There's time for couples counseling later. The ruffles counseling. Yes, but he essentially
[00:04:11] points out that the void that is Kurakumo's current face. He doesn't even have his glowing
[00:04:18] eyes, but there are tears on his face. And then or sweet traumatized Mike, he says,
[00:04:27] it's raining. Those aren't tears, which goes right back to the whole frickin origin of these
[00:04:34] three dumb begos. And I hate it. I love it. My heart. We're a ghost. You dick. You dickhead.
[00:04:43] You made the new dumb begos. You made them make it rain so that the old dumb begos can do it all
[00:04:50] again. Sir. Exactly. Exactly. Okay. All right. So with that, they see that he's crying and Mike is
[00:04:59] still in denial out loud at least. And he's like, like this is a no mood. This is the guy who took
[00:05:06] you off the field of battle, like because you were able to get like battle, sugar rocky. So
[00:05:13] like take you out of the fight, sugar rocky wins. And now Mike's like with that done,
[00:05:19] our priority right now is to get back into the fight and to do that we need to switch him back on.
[00:05:24] So at this point, Mike is like essentially forcing himself or subconsciously seeing Shirakumo as
[00:05:31] nothing but a no move that could be switched on and off with commands. A tool, not a person.
[00:05:37] Right. Exactly. And also at this point on the same page before we go back into the dialogue,
[00:05:43] we kind of see the three of them all together. Kurakumo is just flat out on his back.
[00:05:50] Just spluted. Yep, he's just he's just he's just out of it, but it does make clear that
[00:05:56] manual is not there. So yeah, no, it's just the three dummy goes. Yeah. So manual must have been
[00:06:03] back with Monoma when they were getting cleaned up. He just wasn't visible in all the chaos.
[00:06:09] Yeah, there was too much going on and it was forever ago and we don't remember.
[00:06:12] And we're not looking it up. Nope, we sure aren't. And then Mike does go on and he's like,
[00:06:19] we have to switch it back on. And once we're back in the fight, once it's all settled out,
[00:06:24] I'll come back to this guy and punch him in the face until he stays down for good.
[00:06:28] So that's a little dark. Mike's dark. Yeah, quite quite dark. He's he's venting.
[00:06:34] He is the darker one in their relationship despite the blonde sunshine nonsense.
[00:06:39] Oh, yes. The darker one. Absolutely. Yeah. Izawa has too much compassion under his stoic exterior.
[00:06:48] Yep. Yep. And and like he continues, he's like, Izawa, you have to forget what happened in
[00:06:53] Tartarus. That was a miracle. It's not going to happen again. We are 31 now, which oh my God,
[00:06:58] I am also 31. Same. I can't imagine dealing with all of this bullshit.
[00:07:05] There's too much emotions going on between these three. I've never felt in all of my 31 years combined.
[00:07:13] So I don't know how they're doing it. Oh God, one day at a time, I guess. I guess.
[00:07:21] It also helps that they're hot. So yeah. And have a purpose.
[00:07:26] Yeah, something that they can hyper focus on and just deny, deny, deny. Just just focus in.
[00:07:32] Don't think, don't feel. Yep. So there he's basically he's venting. He's continuing. He says
[00:07:36] we're 31 now. We're not in class two anymore. Essentially, we're not 16 anymore. Yeah,
[00:07:43] we're not kids. We need to approach this like grownups basically. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. And then
[00:07:49] Izawa starts talking and it's Izawa. So it's beautiful.
[00:07:54] He's like, yes, Mike, like, yes, true. That is all correct and valid. Yes.
[00:07:59] But Shirakumo was a UA student when he died. And then as Izawa kind of grabs hold of Kurakumo's,
[00:08:12] where his head should be, he like holds onto his face. Kurakumo like either flashes back or
[00:08:19] continues speaking. He starts muttering again or whatever. But basically, Izawa points out
[00:08:25] that Kurakumo could have just dropped them to their deaths using this Warp Gate.
[00:08:30] Easily could have killed them.
[00:08:32] Easily, but he instead he brought his brought the two friends that he recognizes that he
[00:08:39] remembers to this other place. And he does start to wake up and we see sweet Shirakumo's face
[00:08:50] under all the darkness. And he's still muttering. His little bandage.
[00:08:53] Little bandaid and he's still muttering. And he says, who where? Shih, assuming the start of
[00:09:01] Shiguraki and then friend. Yeah, it's interesting that Shiguraki and Shirakumo will start with
[00:09:08] the shih sound. Yep. Yep. All right. So then basically, Izawa continues, he does his little
[00:09:15] hero monologue and he's like back in Tartarus, we we reached toward him and there was like a little
[00:09:22] bit of light, but there was too much darkness. But it does also work differently if you think
[00:09:28] about it. It's like that's what activated again him again, like all all the shit that's going on,
[00:09:34] all the darkness that was going on when Mike was trying to get to Kurakumo
[00:09:38] before Spinner, like that's what brought him back out again. Yeah, exactly. It's not sorry.
[00:09:46] No good. I was going to say it's not black and white part in the pun.
[00:09:52] It's like it's like there's all it's all in there. You can't just take one or the other
[00:09:58] and he's like, you know this Yamada and he's like Mike's like fine. Whatever, I guess.
[00:10:05] Yep. Yep. Yeah. Shirakumo, if even if they got him back in his entirety, like there's still
[00:10:11] just so much darkness to be contended. There's still so much trauma, Mike. I think you know.
[00:10:17] Uh huh. Uh huh. They would know. And yeah. So like no matter what there, they have to accept him
[00:10:23] as he is. So with that, Izawa continues with his little spiel and he says we're educators. We are
[00:10:33] now teachers of the Hero Course and it's our job to make sure that all the UA students graduate.
[00:10:38] And if Shirakumo's, if his origin was that he was a UA student, then it's their job to make
[00:10:47] sure he graduates. It's like babies. Oh, God, the emotions. So many emotions, but they're friend.
[00:10:58] All right. So with that statement, Shirakumo, whoever whatever is going on, his
[00:11:10] darkness, his veil, his smoke explodes and we hear him say, he says Mike's name. He says Yamada.
[00:11:19] I know. Oh. Oh. Because he knows him and he's there and he's with them.
[00:11:25] Uh huh. And he's like, this is totally the way Yamada would act too. This is exactly the reaction
[00:11:31] he would have. Like for Mike's case, it's just like, oh shit. He's like, what? Oh.
[00:11:39] Yep. He thought he was crying before he's sobbing now. Yeah. He's like, oh my God. Oh.
[00:11:44] So like with that, Mike, as he's sobbing, he continues and he's like those memories that
[00:11:51] everything that we started with, they aren't ever going to fade and you turn the page again
[00:11:56] and the darkness that was, what's his butt? Kurgiri. Yes. Kurgiri's darkness now seems to be
[00:12:05] blowing away in the wind to reveal Shirakumo's face. Yeah. It's like blending with a lightness
[00:12:12] from Shirakumo. Yep. And the wind is blowing and it's not supposed to be immediately clear
[00:12:19] what we can see, but like Shirakumo's face is officially back in some form.
[00:12:26] Because they're friends and then the babies and the, oh.
[00:12:29] Oh, he saw his friends. He saw his friends and he's gonna help his friends and he's
[00:12:34] gonna help his old friends and his new friends and it's, oh so many feelings.
[00:12:39] Okay. Uh huh. And he's gonna bridge that gap and it's gonna be so beautiful. Oh God.
[00:12:43] Okay. So we got that nice emotional catharsis when I caught up on,
[00:12:48] we're kind of caught up now on what the Dumbiegos were doing in the meantime.
[00:12:52] So finally, fucking finally, it's taken so long.
[00:12:57] So scene change back to the present and it starts with Eraser getting through the
[00:13:03] Mike to Sugiyuchi who was like, what? Uh huh. Uh huh. Also, Labrava in like that little
[00:13:11] corner of the panel who's just like, what the fuck is going on?
[00:13:13] She's like, I'm listening because it's gonna be hyping hot tea for my boyfriend,
[00:13:18] but also I'm still doing my job. Yep. Because she's a boss.
[00:13:23] So Sugiyuchi tries to ask where I was always been is like, I was always like, no, shut up.
[00:13:29] He's not, he first asks if Manama is still in the fight, which unfortunately
[00:13:34] he is not. He did get a head injury so he is down for the count. He's no longer able
[00:13:38] to participate in the battle. So I love that. I was first thing that he asked was about a student.
[00:13:45] Like it just really reaffirms everything he would just said. Yes. So with that, he pivots,
[00:13:51] he pivots his plan, whatever he had going on. So he like demands from Shirakumo what's going
[00:13:58] on at the other battles and he demands coordinates and Sugiyuchi as much as we currently
[00:14:06] dislike him on a interpersonal level. He does, he immediately gets it. He's like, oh, coordinates.
[00:14:14] Kurogeery. Oh, okay. So he gives Aizawa all the updates. Yep. So he's right there. Okay.
[00:14:21] So with that, Aizawa shows up. Just boom. Hello. Here I am. Boom. Hello. Hi.
[00:14:29] And we don't see how he arrives because I feel like that's gonna tell us kind of
[00:14:33] what the status of Kurokumo is going to be going forward. So yeah, that'll be interesting
[00:14:38] because by the time he got to Izuku, the portal looks normal. Oh yeah. The portal
[00:14:46] you've already seen. Yeah, that's true. Anyway, so the first place presumably that he goes to
[00:14:52] is the shelter underground where basically everyone had evacuated and where what's his butt?
[00:15:00] Ectoplasm. This is Ectoplasm's spot. Yeah. And he's like, what the fuck? What are you doing here?
[00:15:07] And as I was like, we got through to Kurogeery. Now shut up. We need to get going.
[00:15:12] Yeah, he's like, just grab everyone who can fight. Let's go. Yep. He's like, he gives orders.
[00:15:17] He's like, Mike and Kurogeery are ready to go. We need to gather up everybody who can fight
[00:15:23] and only leave behind the people who are best suited to defense, to obviously defend the
[00:15:28] civilians who are still there. And Ectoplasm, who I know has been like all in on the Dumbiego's tea.
[00:15:38] He's like, this is my jam. It's his favorite program. Yes. And he's like, so he's like,
[00:15:44] how did you get Kurogeery? Like what his brain isn't, it's not connecting. He needs to know.
[00:15:49] But he's always like, we don't know how long this is going to last. We've got to get going.
[00:15:53] Because it's just, he's like tea later. We'll schedule something. Let's go.
[00:15:58] We will have a tea party in the hospital when we're done.
[00:16:03] Okay. So with that, with that little conversation, everyone around also hears it.
[00:16:07] So they're all like, oh, round two or next round, whatever it is. Round 30.
[00:16:14] We don't fucking 30,000 at this point. So the first person who steps forward is
[00:16:21] Sweet Baby Death Arms, who as we remember, he had his comeback, his redemption,
[00:16:26] whoever many fucking chapters ago, but he's ready to keep fighting. And then some other
[00:16:31] rando kid who is presumably a hero as well is like, yes, me too, let's go.
[00:16:37] Yeah, maybe they're just short and rather young. I don't know.
[00:16:41] Yes. It's like, I don't know if we're supposed to know who this is,
[00:16:43] or if it's supposed to be an Easter egg, or if it's an Easter egg from within
[00:16:48] the freaking My Hero Universe. I don't know. It's just some little shorty guy who's like,
[00:16:52] I'm going to fight too. And he has something in his hand and he's like,
[00:16:55] I'm going to beat his ass. Yep.
[00:16:58] Beat AFO's ass with a stick.
[00:17:00] Yes, with this weird stick that I have. So with that, he also, a civilian
[00:17:07] pops up and he's like, wait, can you give this to the hero who's hurt?
[00:17:14] Meaning, Izuku, because he's obviously shirtless now. He's been through it.
[00:17:19] Yeah, really been through it.
[00:17:21] He takes off his All Might shirt and gives it to Aizawa to take to Izuku. And it's so cute.
[00:17:27] And Aizawa's face is like, oh my God.
[00:17:30] Oh my God. I can't deal with all of these emotions on top of the other emotions I have.
[00:17:35] Yeah, he's like, let's just keep going. I'll follow up later.
[00:17:38] Yes, everybody bring your supplies because everybody else starts stepping forward to give
[00:17:42] supplies to the fight since they can't actually fight. And Aizawa gets all misty-eyed and he's like,
[00:17:48] sure, thank you. Let's go. Let's go.
[00:17:52] Don't have time for this. Let's get it.
[00:17:54] Okay. And then quick scene change again to,
[00:17:59] it's spelled Tegoba Arena, but it's a Degoba Arena.
[00:18:05] But we finally get an update on the arena, which is essentially like the last site
[00:18:12] that was still kind of going that we thought was going just fine.
[00:18:16] And like apparently the fight is actually still going.
[00:18:21] But the fact that people aren't dropping like flies.
[00:18:25] Yeah, that counts as going well.
[00:18:28] So they're fighting this one escaped prisoner. He's notorious. He's known for a bunch of other
[00:18:36] things. His design is creepy as fuck.
[00:18:39] Oh, his design is so fucking cool. I'm so into it and I wish we knew more.
[00:18:43] It's like this is all you get. And it's like his name is Gashley Aijiju. And that's it. That's
[00:18:48] all you know. He has a math and a book and he's creepy and that's it.
[00:18:56] So if anyone knows who this guy is supposed to be, please let us know.
[00:19:00] Yes, if he's based on somebody or if we're, we are supposed to know
[00:19:04] like who it is. Like if we're supposed to remember all the moving pieces, there's a lot of pieces.

[00:19:23] above the mass of battle that's going on. And it's like directly above where Sato Saro
[00:19:30] and presumably Ojiro are. I just can't see him. There's a lot going on. Yeah.
[00:19:37] So through that warp gate comes a bunch of other heroes, including some of our 1b students who are
[00:19:44] like, yeah, we're still in the fight. Yeah, fuck you. Yeah, they're like, we won. We're good.
[00:19:49] We're high off of our victory. Like let's go. Let's go. So they zoom into the arena fight.
[00:19:56] They take care of business there and then we get a nice close up of my handsome husband's face.

[00:20:08] And you know his eyes glowing red. Oh yeah, you can see it. He's like, he's ready. He's going.

[00:20:29] Okay, so you turn the page and we are back at the izuku slash sugar rocky slash afo fights and
[00:20:40] we're very last battle. Yep. The last one. Last one we got to finish and it's with afo
[00:20:45] now still controlling sugar rocky. And in the in the background, a bunch of other warp gates open up
[00:20:53] above where izuku, isawa and then sato, ogero and sarou are all kind of standing off with afo.
[00:21:03] Oh, okay. So now we're back. We are back where we left off last week. Oh my God.
[00:21:09] I'm like shivering. I know it's like, oh my God, there's so much happening. There's so much happening.
[00:21:14] They might win. They're not going to win. Oh my God. Oh my God. Yep. Yep. Breathe.
[00:21:20] So with that, afo, like a bitch says come to have your quirk stolen. Have you?

[00:22:05] They were hilarious and they're also long because I was like, he was just stepping through. Oh,
[00:22:12] you know, he would have, you know, he would have done it though. He would have done whatever
[00:22:15] he had to do. He's like, if I have to have, if I have to fucking hop to this battle, then
[00:22:18] that's what I have to do. Yes. Yes. And it's like, yes, I appreciate all the nonsense. It
[00:22:24] was very silly. It was also very wrong and you wanted to calm down.
[00:22:30] Okay, so, so like izawa says, how long since you lost your arms? Because you know, blood loss
[00:22:37] is a thing. Well at first I was like, that's kind of a weird question, but okay.

[00:22:50] I don't even know what my first question would have been. I would have been like your arms and
[00:22:56] then that would have been it. Yeah, essentially. And he has a little stink face on. He's like,

[00:23:09] Yep. Yep. So, and then I, and then sweet little izuku kind of explains what's going on.
[00:23:14] He's like, I don't know how long I was in that subconscious space, the astral plane as we've
[00:23:19] been calling it. And then he kind of, he kind of info dumps. He kind of like tries to get it all out.
[00:23:26] So I was always like caught up on everything. He's like, he goes, but like at UA we were doing
[00:23:31] this, but now we're here and I thought AFO was gone and I thought like breaking down,
[00:23:35] Shiggy spirit would like destroy the threats together, but AFO is suddenly back and I don't
[00:23:41] get it. And what's happening? For baby, he's just overwhelmed. There's so much happening.
[00:23:48] So Izawa pulls out a horn and we rewind real quick back to the shelter zone and sweet baby
[00:24:00] Airee is here. She is going to help. She's like, fuck everything. I know I can't go to the fight
[00:24:06] because I'm a child, but I can do this. And she cracks off her own horn. She cracks off the tip
[00:24:13] of her horn and she says to give it to Deku. Oh my poor baby. She's like, I'm helping. And this
[00:24:22] is how I help. And it's just in my horn. So as I was like, he goes into dad's ammo and he's like,
[00:24:29] you broke your horn? What? What? What? Why? He's like, oh, the fuck did this happen?
[00:24:35] He did this. But he does it like eloquently and calmly. So she asked and got some help. Yes, themes.
[00:24:45] Yes. And then ectoplasm. I was like, bro, and he's like, for real? For real? And ectoplasms like,
[00:24:54] look, it was either I do it or she rips it off herself and my way is the less painful way.
[00:24:59] My way is better. And also this is your fault for teaching her rational versus irrational
[00:25:04] logical versus illogical. So really, you're to blame. I don't want to hear it.
[00:25:11] Yeah. So basically, we get a little bit more lore of what Ari was doing while she was at UA.
[00:25:16] She was learning about a quirk, learning how to use it. And basically everyone had come to the
[00:25:21] conclusion that her rewinding quirk is centered in her actual horn. So as long as there's a
[00:25:27] piece of her, the quirk is still going to do something essentially. Yeah, the quirk will
[00:25:33] work even if the horn isn't attached to her. Yes, exactly. And as I was like, I guess that's
[00:25:40] correct. But also you could have damaged your quirk permanently. And she's like, I don't care.
[00:25:45] I want to sing. Oh my God. And this, oh my God, I got a, I got a wonder if Jiro is secretly like
[00:25:53] Ari's absolute hero. Yes, yes. Yes, she is. She's a rock star and Ari is like,
[00:26:00] she's like, I don't care if I hurt my quirk. I want to sing and to sing for everyone, to sing for
[00:26:06] Deku. We have to get through this bad day and he needs my help. So here is my horn. Get to it.
[00:26:12] I'm going to sing. I'm also going to sing for All Might and for Kachan. Doesn't call him
[00:26:17] Katsuki or Bakugo or Dynamite. Call some Kachan. Also her determined little face. She's like,
[00:26:23] well, I wanted to help All Might and Kachan, but you wouldn't let me. Just sassy five-year-old
[00:26:31] to the max. And I love that she feels comfortable enough to be sassy like that. That's so great.
[00:26:35] She's made so much progress. She couldn't help All Might like get back into fighting shape. She
[00:26:41] couldn't help Kachan. We would probably, presumably when he was fucking dead,
[00:26:45] she probably wanted to go help, but they were like, no child stay.
[00:26:49] Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
[00:26:51] So now she's finally able to do something now that she's broken off her horn. So
[00:26:59] this is how she's going to fight because you turn the pages. I know it's not a lot,
[00:27:03] but I want to help and I want to fight. And so Aizawa stabs the horn into Iizuku's shoulder.
[00:27:12] And we get a quick update. And it's basically like ectoplasm and or Aizawa think that
[00:27:18] whatever accumulated energy is in the horn shard is probably about like a couple minutes.
[00:27:24] It's team tiny amount because she just used it. So she hasn't had time to re-accumulate.
[00:27:30] Yeah. So basically there's like two or three minutes left in the horn itself. So
[00:27:38] as we predicted since the very fucking beginning, Aeri comes in to save the day and
[00:27:42] rewinds Iizuku those couple of minutes and he gets his arms back. And possibly other things back,
